Power Rangers Super Megaforce 5 Inch Lightspeed Rescue Red Ranger Gallery & Review

Posted on September 15, 2014 at 11:06 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

When trouble rears its ugly head, you’d better make it a Lightspeed Rescue!

Continuing the galleries of the Power Rangers Super Megaforce 5″ Figures, we’re proud to bring you another legendary Red Ranger gallery. Having surged in popularity in recent years his figure is desired by many and found by few. That’s right – we’re talking about the Lightspeed Rescue Red Ranger, Carter Grayson.

Releasing in Wave 4 of the 5″ figure assortment, this figure is actually harder to find than you might expect – a lot of stores never got Wave 4 and if they did, you had one (at most maybe two) chances at grabbing the figure as he was packaged one per case.

To see all 32 images of this figure and to read the review, simply click here! And stay tuned to TokuNation.com for more upcoming Power Rangers Super Megaforce 5 Inch Figures – including an AWESOME looking gallery coming of the Titanium Ranger and the gallery everyone has been waiting for, the Zeo Gold Ranger!

A special thanks to Fury Diamond of RangerCrew.com for helping obtain this figure!

Mirroring what happened with the Legacy Dragonzord before it’s release, Bandai UK has just revealed brand new in hands images of the upcoming Legacy Titanus!

This whopping behemoth will retail for $200 at Toys R Us this fall, and as you can clearly see is meant to be combined with the previously released Legacy Megazord & Dragonzord to complete the Legacy Ultrazord! If you can’t tell already Titanus is huge and apparently very heavy. Be on the lookout for this bad boy on TRU shelves in the coming months!

Power Rangers Legacy Original Movie Figures Revealed!

Posted on September 11, 2014 at 2:20 am by Den-O under Power Rangers

First revealed waaaaay back in June, we finally have images to confirm the upcoming Legacy Power Rangers figures from the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie!

Seen for the first time these figures are modeled on the original Power Rangers suits from the classic 1995 MMPR film. Though the movie came out at the height of Power Rangers popularity there are actually very few toys that represent the things seen in the film. The armored up designs the rangers sported are the most criminally over looked though. But rectifying their absence from a toyline for almost 20 years Bandai of America has created this new assortment of Legacy Power Rangers! The assortment will contain 6 figures 5 of which are rangers (Red, Blue, Black, Yellow, & Pink). The 6th figure which has yet to be seen is the awesome villain of the original film, Ivan Ooze!

Defying all the odds it seems the sure bet of a White Ranger has been skipped for this assortment but will no doubt be released at a later time. In any case it appears that these figures are based on the looks the rangers had in the early part of the film before losing their powers, as indicated by the origianl power coins on their chests. They appear to include their awesome personal weapons that were created for the film in lieu of their TV show counterparts as well, though only Pink Ranger is shown with hers.

For now enjoy several press images of these exciting figures courtesy of the awesome people at Rangercrew!

Dragonzord vs. Megazord by Marcelo Matere and Tom Chu

Posted on September 10, 2014 at 1:15 pm by Chris under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

Back at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, I contacted a good, old friend of mine from my days in the Transformers community from working for a decade at our sister site TFW2005.COM. His name is Marcelo Matere, and if you are, or were, a Transformers fan then you’ve seen his work – whether it be in comic books from both Dreamwave and IDW Publishing, to official box art work for Hasbro and their Transformers product. Knowing he has tremendous skill in drawing anything robotic in nature, I commissioned from him a Power Rangers piece – the Dragonzord fighting the original Megazord. Using nothing but pictures of toys for references, he hit the project out of the park! I wasn’t the only one who was impressed – even Bandai of America was impressed with his artwork.

In case you don’t remember the original story with the actual sketch – you can find it by clicking here.

We are incredibly pleased and proud to reveal the final version of this beautiful piece of artwork colored by comic book colorist Tom Chu, who has worked on various projects for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, IDW Publishing, and Archie Comics, as well as independent comics and official products for major toy companies. You may recognize his name from our very own Talkin Toku Podcast which he co-hosts, as well as being one of our administrators here at TokuNation.com under the name Sentai Tamashii, or even on Twitter as @SoulInkChu.

I think you will agree with us that this is one of the most impressive pieces of artwork for the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers that we’ve ever seen. And we are beyond excited to share with you in future updates higher resolution versions of this image (minus our watermark) for use as wallpapers and other such things.

Please take a moment and follow these incredibly talented individuals and show their work some love. And, if you happen to want something awesome drawn for you or colored for you, please don’t be shy in asking them about their commission prices. I can personally guarantee that you won’t be disappointed in their work!!

Talkin Toku Podcast Episode 015 – Talkin Toku is Back!

Posted on September 3, 2014 at 9:00 pm by Chris under Conventions, General Tokusatsu News, Kamen Rider, Power Morphicon, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

Talkin Toku is back!

After nearly 2 months since the last episode with your regular hosts, the boys of Talkin Toku return! Join Kickback, Den-O, and Sentai Tamashii in the all new, all different, all unedited and uncensored Talkin Toku!

Since the last full episode, Kickback and Den-O have gone to San Diego Comic Con, and Kickback then went to Power Morphicon. Listen to his reactions to the overall convention as we talk the good, the bad, and the ugly! Special shout-outs to some good friends made over the weekend – Dan’s Toku Rants, the Toku Ladies Podcast, Zeron Xepher, and Shukuen Shinobi, as well as the guys from Ranger Command Power Hour.

We also discuss some of the latest collectibles that have come out that we’ve purchased – S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Ryugen and S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gridon – as well as discuss a lot of the upcoming Power Rangers Dino Charge toys and information from Power Morphicon to the present – including the rumor that Saban Brands isn’t interested in adapting Ressha Sentai ToQGer!

There’s also some brief discussion on Kamen Rider Drive – our hopes and our fears – as well as whether or not we’re going to go “all in” on the merchandise like we did with Kamen Rider Gaim (and have loved every wallet-draining moment).

Finally – it’s Gaim Time. The boys discuss everything so far in Kamen Rider Gaim up through episode 43 including some of the parallels that the show has with some other Hesei era Kamen Rider shows (spoilers right there). Will Micchy redeem himself? And do we want Micchy to redeem himself? And just who – and what – is Kamen Rider Jam? And our thoughts on whether or not the show ends on Episode 46 (the final episode written by Gen Urobuchi) or if it ends on Episode 47 (the rumored Kamen Rider Drive hand-off episode featuring Kamen Rider Jam).

Also – we want to give you guys free stuff. So we’re going to come up with ways to get free stuff, including the convention exclusive Super Megaforce Red Ranger key as well as a Mighty Morphin Green Ranger translucent key, and more importantly, an entire set of Season 2 S.H. Figuarts Akibarangers. Stay tuned for that and throw some suggestions out in our discussion thread! Check out the episode directly linked to this post below! (NOTE: You have to push play!)

See you in a couple of weeks!

Possible Spoilers for the Final Episodes of Power Rangers Super Megaforce

Posted on September 3, 2014 at 6:34 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

With thanks to user YellowAccel from the folks at RangerCrew.com, we have some potential spoilers for the final episodes of this season’s Power Rangers Super Megaforce. For those questioning the validity, YellowAccel lives in France, and these potential spoilers are from the Canal J website – which is kind of like a Nickelodeon over there.

We will not post the spoilers on our front page – however, if you are interested in reading them, you may do so clicking here for the spoilers. What kind of spoilers do you ask? We learn, story-wise, how they will work in the use of the regular Megaforce suits while fighting Vrak as well as what role Orion the Super Megaforce Silver Ranger plays – as well as details on the return of the missing Robo Knight. We also learn a bit about Mavro, the father of both Prince Vekar and Vrak, as well as the events leading up to the finale “Legendary Battle”.

Thanks again to YellowAccel for the information. You can find his original post at RangerCrew by clicking here. Be warned – clicking the link will take you directly to his post. We have blacked out using our spoiler code on our forum so you can choose whether or not to read them.

What do you think? Join in the discussion but … of course … beware of spoilers!
