S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo (Kamen Rider 1) Gallery

Posted on January 22, 2018 at 11:38 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Henshin!”

For the last 47 years, Japan & the world have been safe guarded thanks to the selfless actions of heroes known as Kamen Riders. Among their ranks, one stands above as the most iconic character the franchise has ever produced. The original Kamen Rider himself, Takeshi Hongo! After 10 years of various Kamen Rider 1 S.H. Figuarts releases, Tamashii Nations has finally released what is sure to be a centerpiece for many collections with S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo!

Joining Dan Moroboshi & Retsu Ichijoji, Hongo is the first civilian form Kamen Rider figuart to be released. Based on one of Hongo’s more iconic looks in his dashing black suit, this figure features the stunning likeness of actor Hiroshi Fujioka circa 1971. To replicate Hongo’s transformation into Kamen Rider 1, a really unique effect sheet is included, as well as several sets of hands. This release may seem a bit lite on accessories, but it’s honestly just right. Bringing to life the early days of Kamen Rider like this is just really refreshing as well. I love buying my modern riders too, but seeing the Showa era continue to receive this level of love is wonderful.

We’ve attached the full 70+ image gallery to this post, but you can also read up on our full review of Takeshi Hongo as well by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll back next time with a brand new gallery of the hotly anticipated S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon New Omega (Amazon JP Edition) Gallery

Posted on January 16, 2018 at 1:35 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

“NEW OMEGA”

We took a short break but now we’re back with out first brand new gallery of 2018! At both the beginning and end of last year, we really opened our Amazons with 6 galleries from the hit series. Alpha, Omega, Jungraider, Sigma, Mole Amazon, & Neo. To kick this year off we’ve decided to start with a gallery of the Amazon Japan exclusive edition of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon New Omega!

New Omega is Haruka Mizusawa’s upgrade from the 2nd season of Amazons, and the first true upgrade for any of the riders in the show. Using the new Neo Amazons Driver, Haruka’s traditional Omega suit gets retrofitted with cybernetic parts that give him a wild and unfinished look that’s really striking. This Amazon JP edition of the figure includes all the of the standard accessories like the Neo Blade arm, an Amazons Syringe, and two sets of hands, but also comes with the exclusive Green Tamashii Flame Effects!

We’ve attached the full 50+ image gallery of Amazon New Omega to this post, but you can also check out our full review of the figure after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to the full thread. We’ll be back later this week with a full gallery & review of S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo!

S.H. Figuarts Retsu Ichijoji Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 29, 2017 at 11:24 am by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Metal Heroes, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Electroplate”!

The original Space Sheriff Gavan is without a doubt one of the most iconic tokusatsu heroes ever. The originator of the Metal Heroes franchise & Space Sheriff title, Gavan has been in a resurgence ever since his 2011 return in Gokaiger VS Gavan. Reprising the role of this iconic character each time has been legendary actor Kenji Ohba! Now, years after the first Gavan figuarts were released and even the Gavan Renewals, we at last have Gavan’s civilian form with S.H. Figuarts Retsu Ichijoji!

Retsu Ichijoji is the 2nd release in Bandai’s new sub-line of civilian identity figuarts, preceded by Dan Moroboshi and followed by Takeshi Hongo. Improving on the faults of Dan, Retsu is a fantastic release. Bringing to life the young likeness of Kenji Ohba, this figure fantastically replicates Gavan circa his debut in 1982. Boasting some really great articulation Retsu is complimented by a couple set of hands as well as an effect sheet to replicate the electroplating process that transforms him into Space Sheriff Gavan!

We’ve attached the full 75 image gallery to this post, but you can also check out our full review of the figure by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back soon with (hopefully) one more gallery before the new year!

Ultra Seven: S.H. Figuarts Dan Moroboshi Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 22, 2017 at 3:54 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights, Ultraman

“Ultra Eye!”

In a year that celebrates the 10th anniversary of the S.H. Figuarts toyline, Tamashii Nations is also helping to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic series Ultra Seven! In honor of this, Bandai has recently released S.H. Figuarts Dan Moroboshi, the civilian identity of the gigantic hero Ultra Seven!

Dan, is the first in a series of new civilian identity S.H. Figuarts, that’s already been followed by Retsu Ichijoji as well as Takeshi Hongo. This release sets a sort of new standard for what to expect, and for where improvements can be made to this type of release as well. The biggest thing I notice with this figure, is that Bandai has massively stepped up their face printing technology, and the figure has a true to life sculpt & paint job. Dan looks like he jumped right off the screen. Dan also includes a fantastic array of accessory giving him a full compliment Ultra Garrison items and his Ultra Seven transformation device, the Ultra Eye!

We’ve attached the full 50 image gallery to this post, but you can also check out our in-depth review of S.H. Figuarts Dan Moroboshi after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back next week with more new galleries for Toku Toy Box!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider GenM Action Gamer Level 2 & Shakariki Sports Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 20, 2017 at 1:46 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“My dear doctors, our game has only just begun.”

Toku Toy Box takes a look at the Game Master once again! After Level X last time, now we have the opportunity to checkout Kuroto Dan’s excellent, and recently release Level 2 form with S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider GenM Action Gamer Level 2! And since this is the Tamashii Nations 2017 event exclusive version of the figure, we also get to share a look at the fantastic Shakariki Sports bike included with this release!

GenM Level 2 is a straight up repaint of the still fantastic Ex-Aid body type, done up in GenM’s gorgeous trademark purple and black. Separating itself from the Ex-Aid release though, GenM includes parts to recreate both versions of his handheld weapon the Gashacon Bug Visor. And since this is the event exclusive, this version also comes with a wonderfully detailed and excellently done Shakariki Sports bike with its own wheel base for display. If you’re waiting it out to get the Web Exclusive release of this figure next year, you may regret it as it won’t include the bike.

We’ve attached the full 99 image gallery to this post, but you can see all the images as well as read our comprehensive review of this figure by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back soon with a blast from the past with a brand new gallery from Ultra Seven!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider GenM Zombie Gamer Level X Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 9, 2017 at 7:48 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Danger Danger! Genocide! Death The Crisis! DANGEROUS ZOMBIE!”

The data of death. Using this invaluable information, Kuroto Dan was able to achieve the unthinkable and defeat mortality. As the embodiment of the Dangerous Zombie Gashat, Kuroto cemented himself as a true villain for a time. Unthinkable power and a new Level, this deadly combo spelled the end for one of our heroes at Kuroto’s hands. Now Bandai has spelled the end for our wallets by finally releasing one of the most hotly anticipated figures from Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider GenM Zombie Gamer Level X!

GenM Level X is a design that is unquestionably unique and menacing, something that was ripe for potential as a toy. Despite the occasional miss from Bandai, I’m really happy to report that GenM is not. From the grounf up this figure is executed near flawlessly. Some paint issues aside, GenM fails to disappoint. Being able to maintain some really great contorted poses, coming with 5 sets of hands. Even coming with the Gashacon Sparrow, his trophy from the defeat of Kamen Rider Lazer. This figure is a fantastic addition to an already well rounded selection of Ex-Aid releases.

We’ve attached the full 70 image gallery of GenM Level X to this post, you can also check out our full length review of the figure by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back very soon with several new galleries for Toku Toy Box including some Mighty Brothers, a few vintage pieces, and a Chogokin or two!

S.H. Figuarts Mole Amazon Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 6, 2017 at 5:23 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“We’re teammates now.”

It’s another new gallery for Toku Toy Box at TokuNation and we’re revisiting the grim world of Kamen Rider Amazons! Before Alpha & Omega, Mamoru the Mole Amazon, was a member of the Nozoma Peston Service. Rag tag mercenary Amazon hunters. Often seen eating a hamburger the gentle & powerful Mamoru would have done anything to protect these friends. And if you weren’t aware, Mole Amazon is actually based on the Showa character Mole Beastman from the original Kamen Rider Amazon TV series. Mole Beastman was actually the very first Kaijin to befriend a Kamen Rider, and became a strong ally to Amazon. So it’s no wonder that a similar bond was forged between Mamoru & Haruka for a time.

As the first of the proper non-rider Amazons to receive a figure, we dive in and take a look at S.H. Figuarts Mole Amazon! The Mole Amazon is a pretty wild design from the ground up. Angular, intricate, well painted, monstrous. It’s such an interesting update to an otherwise very odd character design. While Mole isn’t a Kamen Rider per se, it’s unquestionable that he fits right in with the other misfits and miscreants of the series. This figuart of Mamoru includes a an extra pair of hands, his open feeding mouth, a final blow effect part to defeat Amazon Sigma, and of course his Hamburger! I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect of this Tamashii Web Exclusive but I’m really happy to say that I love it. Here’s hoping we see his season 2 Evolved Form down the road as well!

We’ve attached the full 55 image gallery to this post but you can also read an in depth review of S.H. Figuarts Mole Amazon by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Next time we’ll be back with the long awaited gallery of god himself Kuroto Dan, with S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider GenM Zombie Gamer Level X!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon Neo (Amazon JP Edition) Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 4, 2017 at 2:25 am by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“I will live until the last moment!!”

A tormented soul joins us today for Toku Toy Box. It took Chihiro most of his life to discover what he truly was, an Amazon. Son of Jin Takayam, Amazon Alpha, the Point of Origin for a new generation of Amazons, a threat to all of humanity. Ultimately, Chihiro came to blows with his long lost father Jin as well as Amazon Omega Haruka Mizusawa. He never got to live the peaceful life he wanted to, or be the hero he thought he wanted to be. He at least went out a fighter standing his ground against the odds. Today we take a look at the first figuart based on this chaotic & torn character, S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon Neo (Amazon JP Edition)!

Amazon Neo is the first release we’ve seen from Amazons Season 2, soon to be followed by New Omega. But this new body type introduced with Neo has already won me over. I was initially skeptical, but this figure has turned out to be possibly my favorite Amazon thus far. Sharp paint apps and strong details help bring this design to life. Not to mention as an Amazon Japan Exclusive edition, we also get a sweet set of Tamashii Flame Effects in addition to the included hands, Amazon Neo Blade, & Amazon Injector accessory.

We’ve attached the full 60+ image gallery to this post but you can also read through our comprehensive review of Kamen Rider Amazon Neo by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Toku Toy Box will pick up next time with another gallery from Kamen Rider Amazons with S.H. Figuarts Mole Amazon!

Once again we’ve come upon the time of year we love most – time for the members and staff of TokuNation.com to celebrate their respective holidays with their friends and loved ones. But it’s also time for TokuNation to celebrate itself. Our little community has hit another milestone this year, our 6 year anniversary!! January 4th 2018, will officially mark 6 years since TokuNation first went public as part of the network of TFW2005.COM, ToyArk.com, and HissTank.com through both network owner Tony_Bacala and TokuChris.

For 6 years now we’ve posted news, rumors, toy galleries, videos, and even dabbled in podcasts for a bit (never forget Talkin Toku!). As times have changed we have tried to change with them, delivering you content in different ways, updating our photography to take better galleries, and expanded in to new areas (check out our official YouTube channel, full launch coming in 2018!). But there’s one thing that we don’t want to change – our annual Toku Toy Box giveaway!

Like years past TokuNation is hosting an annual holiday giveaway open to ALL registered users! You’ll recall that in years’ past giveaways, users could post in a selection of galleries within the contest period to automatically be entered into the drawing for 1 of 4 prize packs. This year however we’ve opened things up. Not only will we be posting a number of eligible galleries throughout the month of December, but every gallery we’ve posted in 2017 also makes you eligible! If you’ve already posted in the 1 of the 40 galleries we’ve produced this year, then you’re already entered. If not, you already have 40 chances with more on the way this month! To show our appreciation to you, the community, we’ve assembled 4 incredible prize packs spanning Power Rangers, Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and more!

Throughout the month of December we will be revealing all the prize packs on the TokuNation YouTube Channel. On Christmas Eve we will reveal the “Grand Prize” of each of the 4 prize package categories. As always, there will be late additions as we accumulate things or find incredible deals on various items throughout the Holiday season. A quick special thanks to the individuals who donated (a) item(s) for this year’s Toku Toy Box:

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Den-O Sword Form Gallery

Posted on November 12, 2017 at 11:41 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Ore, Sanjou!”

Rumors are circulating that in the next few weeks, at Tamashii Nations 2017, we could see a Shinkocchou Seihou release for Kamen Rider Den-O. The original Sword Form figuart itself was released over 5 years ago as well. With Tamashii Nations making headway through the backlog of Heisei Riders receiving this treatment Den-O very likely could be next. In light of these rumors we’ve decided to take a look back at my namesake with a brand new and up to date gallery of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Den-O Sword Form!

Den-O Sword Form may be a bit of an older release, but you know what it still has a lot of charm despite the faults we can recognize today. Serving as the first nice 1/12 scale collector figure for Den-O, it set the bar for the numerous releases that would follow it. Den-O was packed out with accessories as well including two forms for the Dengasher, a set of Full Charge effect parts, a Rider Pass, multiple sets of hands and even a set of swap out hip holsters. Mold flaws aside, Den-O Sword Form was a great release for it’s time. But if we indeed are looking at the prospect of a Shinkocchou Seihou release in the near future, I welcome it.

We’ve assembled a full 120 image gallery of S.H. Figuarts Den-O Sword Form. The entire gallery is attached to this post but you can also read through an extensive review of the figure by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll check back in a couple weeks with news from Tamashii Nations 2017, wheter there’s a Seihou Den-O or not.
