S.H. MonsterArts Shin Godzilla 4th Form Freeze Ver. Revealed

Posted on February 15, 2018 at 2:48 pm by ZeoRangerV under Godzilla

2016’s Shin Godzilla brought the King of Monsters back in glorious fashion, and now Bandai Tamashii Nations have revealed a brand new variant of the film’s Godzilla design in figure form! S.H. MonsterArts Shin Godzilla 4th Form Freeze Ver. is based upon the monster’s “defeat” at the end of the movie, where Godzilla is successfully frozen by Japan’s plan to inject gallons of coagulant into its mouth.

Though a primarily a repaint of the original Shin Godzilla, Freeze Ver features a brand new, highly detailed tail piece including the humanoid Godzilla creatures emerging from it in the film’s final scenes. The figure is Tamashii web exclusive release and includes no additional accessories, retailing for 14,040 yen and releasing in July 2018.

Check out the full selection of images and discuss the figure after the jump!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Snipe Simulation Gamer Level 50 Gallery

Posted on February 7, 2018 at 1:19 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“50th tactic”

Thanks to the Gashat Gear Dual Beta, Taiga Hanaya has attained a new level of power! It’s time to simulate some bang bangs, sink some battleships, and give new meaning to what Kancolle is with S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Snipe Simulation Gamer Level 50!

Snipe Level 50 is now our third outing with this mold and I have to say, it may be my favorite yet. While the new Simulation Gamer armaments may seem bulky and obtrusive, in reality this figure is every bit dynamic to me as the previous two Snipes. Maybe even more so. Snipe Level 50 has gained two new battleship halves in lieu of fists, and two sets of shoulder mounted cannons/turrets to round out his arsenal. These surprisingly articulated parts go along way to selling me on this release far more than I ever imagined. While lite on accessories (just one), Snipe Level 50 is a fantastic addition to any Ex-Aid collection.

We’ve attached the full 80 image gallery to this post, but you can also read up on our full length review after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back soon with more new galleries from Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, Kamen Rider W, and more!

Soul of Chogokin Dragon Caesar Official Product Page and Images

Posted on January 26, 2018 at 4:40 am by Chris under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

The month of July cannot get here quick enough for some of us Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger fans. Tamashii Nations recently revealed the release information for the upcoming Soul of Chogokin Dragon Caesar (July 2018 for 17,280 yen). For fans of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Dragon Caesar is the Japanese name for the Dragonzord. This beautiful collectable is able to combine with the previously released Soul of Chogokin Daizyujin (Mighty Morpin Power Rangers’ Megazord). Does this mean in 2019 we’ll see God King Brachion (Titanus)? Only time will tell.

The Soul of Chogokin page for SOC Daizyujin has been updated with all the information for Dragon Caesar, including design schematics. It is quite a marvel to see how this thing was designed. We’ve mirrored the images here and you can see them all by clicking the title of the story. You can see the product page itself by clicking here.

We won’t even ask if you’re going to buy this. Of course you are. So instead of sounding off on whether or not you’ll buy it, let’s sound off on how we’re going to display this thing and in what mode!

S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1 Gallery

Posted on January 25, 2018 at 4:51 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Riderrrrrrrr, henshin!”

While this release just barely made it’s way out at the end of 2017, it’s already set the bar very high for where figures for 2018 should be. After 10 years of S.H. Figuarts, and numerous releases in one form or another of this character, Tamashii Nations has finally made the definitive figure of Takeshi Hongo’s heroic rider form. We thought it only appropriate that on today, what would have been Shotaro Ishinomori’s 80th birthday, we share our gallery of S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1!

From the ground up, Seihou Rider 1 is the ultimate representation of this character in 1/12 scale form. Faithfully recreating Kamen Rider 1’s most iconic look in his “Shin” costume from later in the original TV series, this appearance is how Hongo has appeared for nearly all of his appearances since it’s debut well over 40 years ago. Elevating the engineering of figuarts once again, this Shinkocchou Seihou release manages to capture the wonder of this costume perfectly and translate it’s essence into a dynamic action figure any collector should be proud to own.

We’ve attached the FULL 100 image gallery to this post, but you can also see our extensive review in the thread linked below. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” below to see the entire gallery thread for S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1!

S.H. Figuarts Gel Shocker Combatman Confirmed for June 2018

Posted on January 24, 2018 at 10:05 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

As the revitalization of the Showa Era continues from Tamashii Nations, we have one more enemy grunt to add to our collections. Appropriately, following on from the upcoming Renewal of the Shocker Combatman in February is the successor to those very troops. S.H. Figuarts Gel Shocker Combatman!

Gel Shocker was the first organization to succeed the original Shocker in it’s quest for world dominance. Formed by Shocker’s Great Leader, and Geldamn’s General Black, this group culled the ranks of the original Shocker even down to it’s reliable Combatman men. This purge resulted in the introduction of the new Gel Shocker Combatmen who wold menace the Double Riders for some time to come. This new figure is the first instance of Gel Shocker in the figuarts toyline and it looks to be a pretty spectacular release. The Gel Shocker Combatman utilizes the new body enginered for the Renewal Shovcker Combatman and includes both the spiked staff & sword these soldiers were known to use.

The Gel Schocker Combatman will be release in June 2018 as a Tamashii Web Exlcusive for 5400 yen. Be sure to get in touch with your preferred middleman or service in order to secure an order in the near future. Credit to Tendou Toys for sharing this image with us.

S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo (Kamen Rider 1) Gallery

Posted on January 22, 2018 at 11:38 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Henshin!”

For the last 47 years, Japan & the world have been safe guarded thanks to the selfless actions of heroes known as Kamen Riders. Among their ranks, one stands above as the most iconic character the franchise has ever produced. The original Kamen Rider himself, Takeshi Hongo! After 10 years of various Kamen Rider 1 S.H. Figuarts releases, Tamashii Nations has finally released what is sure to be a centerpiece for many collections with S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo!

Joining Dan Moroboshi & Retsu Ichijoji, Hongo is the first civilian form Kamen Rider figuart to be released. Based on one of Hongo’s more iconic looks in his dashing black suit, this figure features the stunning likeness of actor Hiroshi Fujioka circa 1971. To replicate Hongo’s transformation into Kamen Rider 1, a really unique effect sheet is included, as well as several sets of hands. This release may seem a bit lite on accessories, but it’s honestly just right. Bringing to life the early days of Kamen Rider like this is just really refreshing as well. I love buying my modern riders too, but seeing the Showa era continue to receive this level of love is wonderful.

We’ve attached the full 70+ image gallery to this post, but you can also read up on our full review of Takeshi Hongo as well by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll back next time with a brand new gallery of the hotly anticipated S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1!

S.H. Figuarts New Cyclone Renewal Official Reveal

Posted on January 22, 2018 at 4:45 am by ZeoRangerV under Kamen Rider

Bandai Tamashii Nations have just revealed their retail release plans for the months of June and July 2018, and while the tokusatsu offerings among them are slim there is at least one item to entice Kamen Rider fans. Initially revealed at the 2017 Tamashii Nations event, a new version of the S.H. Figuarts New Cyclone motorcycle is on the way to go with the newly released S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1 and forthcoming Kamen Rider 2 figures.

This version of the bike matches the colourscheme of the previous single-pack release, rather than the 2-pack edition which came with the original Rider 1 figure. This version features slightly more red at the front of the bike, as well as blue areas surrounding the headlights.

Just how different this is to the original New Cyclone release is unconfirmed, as are both its price and accessories. Stay tuned to Tokunation.com for more information as it comes!
