Kamen Rider Gaim Celebration – Day Two – The Nut Bros.

Posted on September 26, 2014 at 7:25 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

The end of Kamen Rider Gaim is fast approaching – and at TokuNation.com we’ve chosen to celebrate this very popular series with a send off spanning nine total days looking at every single Rider from the show and movie! Stay tuned because at any time we can announce a contest on our twitter account (@TokuNation)!

It is now day two of our celebration and we thought it would be fun to celebrate a group of Riders that, because of their Lock Seeds, have been dubbed in some circles as the Nut Bros.. They would be Kamen Rider Kurokage, Kamen Rider Gridon, and of course, Kamen Rider Knuckle. And while the “bros” part is more appropriately given to Kurokage and Gridon for their relationship at the start of the series, it also felt worthy to include Knuckle in the group as well.

Please click “Read More” to see our entire article on these three popular Riders! But of course be warned – there are major SPOILERS in doing so, as we look at their history throughout the show and in toy form. So join us as we look at our Nut Bros. – Kamen Rider Kurokage, Kamen Rider Gridon, and Kamen Rider Knuckle!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gridon Donguri Arms Gallery

Posted on September 26, 2014 at 3:09 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Never give up!

Continuing 9 days of celebration for Kamen Rider Gaim and it’s finale, TokuNation proudly presents another long awaited gallery! Today we’re taking a look at S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gridon (Donguri Arms)! Kamen Rider Gridon is of course Hideyasu Jonouchi, the one time leader of Team Invitto, and half of the dynamic duo we’ve taken to calling the Nut Bros!

S.H. Figuarts Gridon  is another impressive addition to the Gaim line of S.H. Figuarts. Sporting his standard Donguri Arms and brandishing his trademark Donkachi hammer, Gridon is ready to bravely (sort of) save the day! This figure may be a bit sparse on accessories but it’s full of personality and exquisite details. Gridon is another winner in my book, check out our full review & 60 image gallery after the jump to see if he’s a winner in yours.

Our Gaim Celebration continues tomorrow with a look back at Kamen Rider Duke!

Kamen Rider Gaim Celebration – Day One – Movie Riders

Posted on September 25, 2014 at 10:41 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider, Uncategorized

For the first official day of celebration we are taking a look at the movie riders of Kamen Rider Gaim! These are the Riders that appeared only in movies (and maybe showed up in an episode to tie in to the movies). Over the course of three movies there have been some exclusive riders (most notably the Kamen Rider Gaim Summer Movie). And while a majority of us wait for a release of the summer movie on DVD, the other two movies are available and we’ve experienced them.

Please click “Read More” to take a look at the movie riders – namely Bujin Gaim, Kamen Rider Fifteen, Kamen Rider Kurokage Shin, Kamen Rider Kamuro, and Kamen Rider Mars (with a brief extension to Kamen Rider Jam). Join us because for nine days the stage is ours! Henshin!

Note – if you haven’t seen these movies, there are spoilers in our “Read More” section! If you haven’t seen the movies, or read up on the movies, then you probably don’t want to click “Read More”. But you know you want to. It’s a celebration after all!

MillionFold Curiosity FanSubs Releases OhRanger Episodes 1 thru 8

Posted on September 25, 2014 at 9:54 pm by Chris under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Before it was known as Power Rangers Zeo it was Cho-Riki Sentai OhRanger, a series designed to pay homage to old military shows and featured every series head writer for the previous Super Sentai seasons as contributors to the scripts of OhRanger. Sadly, the Aum Shinrikyo terrorist cult attacked the Japanese subway system, releasing tear gas that killed 15 individuals and injured another 30. Their leader’s thoughts closely aligned to what OhRanger‘s story line was intended to be (an ancient civilization giving super powers to people of today) and the show’s direction was scrapped and the series re-written, becoming one of the least successful and least popular Super Sentai shows of its time.

But thanks to Millionfold Curiosity FanSubs, and the ever popular translator MegaAnon, the series Cho-Riki Sentai OhRanger is now being subtitled and released to fans around the world. This is an incredibly excellent chance to catch a series that, as far as I know, was either never subtitled in its entirety or was long ago and has since been lost (or it was just a bad sub/bad quality video).

Click here to go to MillionFold Curiosity FanSub’s release of Cho-Riki Sentai OhRanger! And be sure to discuss your thoughts on this show (which changed themes due to the terrorist attack somewhere around Episode 8 or Episode 9) on our discussion thread linked to this post!

Kamen Rider Drive Scans Reveal Machin Chaser Character & Drive Pit Location

Posted on September 25, 2014 at 3:20 pm by Paladin under Kamen Rider

The latest issue of Telvi-Kun Magazine includes several new scans for Kamen Rider Drive! These magazine images give us our first look at Drive’s rival character, Machin Chaser – a mysterious purple warrior who transforms for combat using a weapon called the Break Gunner. Machin Chaser is presumably connected to the Roimyudo monsters that fight Kamen Rider Drive but the full story of this new character is not yet known.

The scans do provide some more close looks at the Roimyudo creatures, including the monster forms of the main villains Brain & Heart. Apparently the Roimyudo will have a type of evolutionary chain- beginning in human form, then changing to a basic monster form & potentially evolving further as they develop new powers.

In addition these magazine scans have revealed Kamen Rider Drive’s headquarters- the Drive Pit! Located beneath a driving school, the Pit will be Trideron’s storage location & presumably a testing ground for Drive’s abilities.

Last but certainly not least we also get some more Shift Car combat details! Kamen Rider Drive is seen using the Shift Dimension Cab to create portals and attack from a distance, while the Spin Mixer Shift Car lets Drive fire concrete bullets at enemies.

Kamen Rider Drive premieres October 5th! Stay tuned to TokuNation until then as we keep you up to date on this new hero!

S.H. Figuarts Black Beet Official Images

Posted on September 24, 2014 at 11:42 pm by Den-O under Metal Heroes

With magazine scans out of the way for the month official images have begun to circulate for all the recently revealed figures. Today the Tamashii Web Shop has updated with official images and pricing for S.H. Figuarts Black Beet from Juuko B-Fighter!

Black Beet, or as western fans would  know him Shadowborg/General Venjix, will be released as Tamashii Web Exclusive in March 2015 for 5184 yen. It appears as though there will be no western market distribution for the B-Fighter figuarts. So if you have some sentimental love for these designs because of Big Bad Beetleborgs, you may want to get with a Tamashii Web Middleman to secure orders for Black Beet and the previously revealed Blue Beet.
