Power Rangers Monday – Top 5 Coolest Things Not Adapted from Super Sentai

Posted on June 16, 2014 at 10:00 am by Chris under Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

It’s Monday which means it’s time for another Power Rangers Monday article! Last week, we talked about the Top 5 Things That MUST Be Adapted from Kyoryuger to Dino Charge, and it was a huge hit! Thanks everyone for taking part in the discussion. A lot of you disagreed with our feelings that the overall theme of music should be adapted and it was an awesome discussion on both sides. A lot of you also wanted to see Deathryuger as the Navy Ranger, or rather his 100 Years After adaption of being Kyoryu Navy. Either way it was a lot of fun – and if you missed it, check out the multi-page discussion by clicking here!

This week you voted on our topic of discussion – and you chose for us to discuss the Top 5 Coolest Things Not Adapted From Super Sentai! Not being super-versed in all things Super Sentai, I reached out to our content director Den-O, a self-proclaimed Super Sentai enthusiast, and with his help, came up with a rather fun and interesting list. Please click the “Read More…” option and check out the list we came up with!

Please take a moment and vote on next Monday’s article – we brought over a couple of options from the last poll and added three new options of which they would all be extremely fun to write and research! So vote, discuss, and read on!

Jason David Frank at SDCC 2014 with Saban Brands and Lionsgate

Posted on June 15, 2014 at 1:02 pm by Chris under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

Love him or hate him, Jason David Frank continues to be a mover and a shaker when it comes to the world of Power Rangers. Announced today via his Instagram account, the actor who played Tommy Oliver the Mighty Morphin Green and White Rangers, Red Zeo Ranger, Red Turbo Ranger, and Black Dino Thunder Ranger, will be appearing at this year’s San Diego Comic Con courtesy of Saban Brands (the property owners of Power Rangers) and Lionsgate (the studio announced to be behind the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie reboot/remake).

This will undoubtedly begin a wave of speculation – is he appearing simply to promote the brand? Is he appearing because he might actually land a role in the new movie? Saban Brands, along with Bandai of America, have made no mistake that they consider him the greatest Power Ranger of all time – he’s popular, his toys sell like hot cakes, and he remains one of the most fan-demanded characters in every Power Rangers series.

Join in our discussion on the speculation of Jason David Frank and his role, if any, in the new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie. It’s sure to be a wild ride in the discussion forum.

Talkin Toku Episode 011 – Talkin Ranger Toku Command at the Nation Summer Crossover Special Part 02 – Released

Posted on June 5, 2014 at 9:00 am by Chris under Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

“Lock On!”

It’s here! It’s Part 02 of the Talkin Ranger Toku Command at the Nation Summer Crossover Special! Featuring a line-up of hosts (Chris, Jordan, Tom, Eric, Zach, AP) from two podcasts (Talkin Toku and Ranger Command), the group gets together to discuss the pro’s and the con’s to Japanese Tokusatsu, specifically Super Sentai in comparison to Power Rangers (it was deemed prior to recording that comparing Kamen Rider or Garo to Power Rangers would be a bit unfair).

But before you do ANYTHING ELSE – CLICK HERE to listen to Part 01 of the crossover, only at RangerCommand.com!

The dramatic, wonderfully acted and Oscar-deserving performances, comes to its epic conclusion! Be sure to listen all the way to the end to get to that epic conclusion! And included for your lol’ing pleasure are BLOOPERS! Granted, there were so many we went with the ones centered mostly on the scripted dramatic story – we have a ton to use in a future “bloopers” episode, which we will announce at a much later date.

Some of the topics we touch on – Premium Bandai is planning to release older Super Sentai merchandise in new packages (as well as some new merchandise). Like everyone else in the world – we speculate. We also discuss some of the new S.H. Figuarts that were revealed – Akarenger, Biorider, Kachidoki Arms. We also talk about Kamen Rider Malus, Kamen Rider Gaim Kiwami Arms, and even make predictions about Kamen Rider Drive, the next installment of Kamen Rider.

Please leave us comments and let us know what you think! Did you like this whole crossover? Did you like the dramatic acting (it was REALLY good, we know). Do you want to see more of it later in the future? Sound off! Post here in this thread, or hit us up on our social media.

Power Rangers Super Megaforce Fall Zord Armor Assortment Released – Images of Q-Rex Zord Armor

Posted on June 2, 2014 at 11:17 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

The first toys of the fall assortments of Power Rangers Super Megaforce toy line have been released at Toys’R’Us stores. With special thanks to @20YearLegacy and @PockyBandit we can share with you in-box images of the Samurai Zord Armor and Q-Rex Zord Armor, as well as in-hand images of the Q-Rex Zord Armor.

These figures are large exosuit-like armor that an extremely unpainted figure rides inside. The Zord Armor can then break apart and become pieces for the Legendary Megazord! It also contains a key that works in the Legendary Morpher. In the case of the Q-Rex Zord Armor, the key that is part of the armor activates the Super Megaforce Silver Ranger phrases in the Legendary Morpher! These items were purchased at a Toys’R’Us store, and according to our friend raz, more of these figures will most likely be showing up in the southwestern United States as early as tomorrow (Tuesday).

Happy hunting! Don’t forget – if you spot a new toy, share your findings in our sightings forum, broken up by state. The more everyone updates it, the better a resource it becomes for Power Rangers fans in each state to find the items they’re looking for. Help your fellow toku-nerds out!
