As Super Sentai fans are well aware, Bandai Japan does not make a habit of releasing anything other than vinyl figures for the Super Sentai heroes. However, that trend looks to be changing. Uchu Sentai Kyuranger saw the release of Yu-Do candy toys – articulated figures that, well, you put stickers on. That is continuing with Patranger vs Lupinranger. Thanks to Bandai Candy we have our first look at the Yu-Do Patranger vs Lupinranger Candy Toy Figures!

All three Patrangers and all three Lupinrangers will be released as well as a number of accessories for them (including swappable hands!). A number of changes from the Kyuranger version also look to increase the stability and overall look of the figures. Thanks to GrnRngr.com’s Facebook page we have press photos for the upcoming 5th series of the Power Rangers Legacy 6.5″ figures. This series has already started bleeding in to stores with the Zeo Red Ranger showing up in Series 4 case assortment refreshes. The wave is as follows:

– Zeo Red Ranger
– Zeo Blue Ranger
– Zeo Pink Ranger
– Dino Thunder Black Ranger
– Dino Thunder Yellow Ranger

We know that at least one case assortment that will be hitting stores will contain only the male figures. The female figures have yet to be seen in package, in production, or anywhere really. We’re still awaiting an update on the Zeo Yellow Ranger, who is part of the Series 4 figures and yet has not been released.

The press photos do not appear accurate to what is going to be released. Many of the “shiny gold” parts of the figures end up being a dull orange color instead. This change first started with the Series 4 figures and continues int he Series 5 figures. Hopefully we will have some answers at Toy Fair next month as to why.

Last week we saw the first official image of the upcoming Patranger vs Lupinranger Mini-Pla version of Lupin Kaiser. Today, we have official images for everything in the first series from the Mini-Pla release.

Mini-Pla are miniature versions of your favorite Super Sentai mecha in model-kit form. You literally build it yourself and apply stickers (or paint if you’d like) to create a smaller, articulated version of your favorite Super Sentai mecha. If you’re not thrilled with the articulation of the large DX Mecha, definitely consider giving the incredibly affordable Mini-Pla a try!

We’re a little over a week away from the premiere of Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel. As we’ve inched closer to the premiere we now have a couple of episode summaries. Check them out below – no spoilers!

Super Ninja Steel is the second portion of the Power Rangers Ninja Steel series. It will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Power Rangers during the season with a special anniversary episode. New episodes begin airing on Saturday, January 27th on Nickelodeon.

Olympics Arms? Yutaka Kobayashi, aka Kamen Rider Baron from the Kamen Rider Gaim series, is going to be carrying something other than a banana spear. First reported on by BOYS AND MEN, and subsequently reported by the Tokusatsu Network, Yutaka Kobayashi will be one of the individuals representing Japan by carrying the 2018 Winter Olympics torch.

The 2018 Winter Olympics will be in PyeongChang, South Korea, starting on February 9th 2018 and running through February 25th 2018. As if you needed another reason to watch the 2018 Winter Olympics. Our congratulations to Yutaka Kobayashi on this tremendous honor and our assurances that toku fans across the world will be tuning in to see one of their favorites on the world’s stage.

This April begins the mega event for the Power Rangers comic book universe! The Shattered Grid event, which takes place in both Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Go Go Power Rangers, features the return of the evil Lord Drakkon (the evil Tommy from a future alternate universe) and our heroes attempt to stop him. And they’ll need help from different Power Rangers throughout the Power Rangers Universe!

We have covers courtesy of IGN.com as well as some of the teams that will be featured in the Shattered Grid event! In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers you can expect to see Power Rangers Dino Charge, Power Rangers Time Force, Power Rangers RPM, and Power Rangers Ninja Steel.

In the Power Rangers Annual, which will feature specific characters, it would seem like we’re getting such classic Rangers as the Zeo Gold Ranger, In Space Blue Ranger, SPD Shadow Ranger, Samurai Red Ranger, and more!

We love Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. And we love Kamen Rider Ex-Aid figures. So obviously, we love the display shown off today of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Sports Action Gamer Level 3.

This is currently only a prototype and there is no release information available at this time. We can only hope that this figure sees a release as it looks beautiful!

We have some new images of some as-of-now unreleased S.I.C. Kamen Rider Gaim figures. On display currently are none other than S.I.C. Kamen Rider Ryugen Yomotsu Heguri Arms, S.I.C. Kamen Rider Baron Lemon Energy Arms, and S.I.C. Lord Baron.

Some of these were first revealed at the Tamashii Nations event last month. There is currently no release information for these characters as they are simply prototypes. If that should change we will let you know! Thanks to @dewachang on Twitter for the images!

Here we go fellow Mini-Pla collectors! We have our first look at the upcoming Mini-Pla Lupin Kaiser set. This item is already available for pre-order where Mini-Pla sets are sold so if you’re interested, be sure to grab it! This is, obviously, the Lupinranger version of the Patoranger vs Lupinranger Super Sentai series premiering next month.

For those unfamiliar with Mini-Pla – it’s considered a “candy toy” (because it comes with some delicious candy) model kit. You follow instructions on how to build each individual piece of the mecha, including where to put stickers. Many choose to paint their Mini-Pla as opposed to using the stickers. These are popular with many fans because they end up being more articulated than the actual DX toys. If you need some convincing please check out our Mini-Pla Appreciation Thread on the forums!
