Unfortunately, Power Morphicon is now over until 2016. The good news is we still have plenty of updates to give you from all the great stuff shown at this year’s convention! On display at the Bandai of America booth was the first look of a number of toys coming out for the 2015 line from Power Rangers Dino Charge.

The bike in this gallery is the American adaption of the Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Deinochaser motorcycle. The biggest difference that we can spot right away, just from looking at the toy, is that it will not have a battery connecting the bikes. In fact, it was unclear to us if the bikes actually detach from one another at all. The bike looks to be of a similar play pattern of other “Rangers with Bikes” toys that have come out for Power Rangers in the last few years. Please keep in mind – this is a prototype and not retail-ready so changes to the colors, paint decorations, and other things can change.

It’s time to get ready and charge up our coverage of Power Morphicon! 

Veteran to the Power Rangers franchise and executive producer for Dino Charge, Judd “Chip” Lynn”, was kind enough to share an incredible Dino Charge teaser video at the just concluded Saban Brands’ Panel.  This teaser has it all. Shots of our rangers in action, of the pre-historic dinosaurs guarding the mystical Energems, and our very first look at a brand new villain, completely original to Dino Charge! This new as yet unnamed character does not originate from any Sentai footage! IT IS CURRENTLY UNKNOWN IF THIS IS A NEW VILLAIN TO THE SERIES OR IF THIS WAS CREATED SIMPLY FOR THE MARKETING TRAILER. SABAN BRANDS DID NOT VERIFY.

On top of that, while our own Kickback was behind the camera catching the teaser video, he also spun around to give us an HD look at the new rangers themselves! Introduced to attendees, and the world, for the first time are the Power Rangers Dino Charge!

Power Morphicon continues in sunny Pasadena California! And kicking off today’s festivities our men on the inside, Kickback & Trekkieb47, just attended the Saban Brand’s Panel! 

Here’s the breakdown of the information they had to share, with images!

  • Shout! Factory has skipped this panel in favor of the MMPR one.
  • Andrew Gray discussed actor  inspired rewrites. Quoted as saying “There will be a lot more explanation” to a huge crowd cheer. More easter eggs  for fans with the final episodes.
  • Full Power Rangers Dino Charge Cast revealed! A first for the franchise, we have an African American Pink Ranger played by Camille Hyde! Character names yet to be revealed at this time however.
  • Apparently the Dino Charge video showed a new unique villain not adapted from Kyoryuger footage.
  • However Chaos from Kyoryuger confirmed to be the Bounty Hunter Sludge for Dino Charge

The Power Morphicon convention is almost underway and already we have some very exciting news!

Early photos from the display room confirm that the Dino Charge Megazord (proper name not yet confirmed) will have a Pink Triceratops arm, matching the original series footage, and contrary to the images we have previously seen which seemed to confirm it was purple in an effort to make the toy more appealing to boys.

Representatives from Bandai of America claim that the switch was made after negative fan-reaction to the planned color swap. While exact details remain unconfirmed at the time of writing, this definitely seems like a step in the right direction for Dino Charge! For those who don’t remember this far back – the original Power Morphicon was created in part because of the Make-A-Wish foundation. Staying true to its roots, there will be a special ribbon cutting ceremony at this year’s Power Morphicon on the morning of Saturday, August 23rd at 8:45 AM. Five young Junior Rangers from Make-A-Wish will join the Power Rangers and Alex Heartman (“Jayden” the Power Rangers Samurai Red Ranger) in a special can’t-miss stunt, followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony. There will also be surprise guests at this event.
