“Let’s leave light in the dust!”

2017 is shaping up to be the year of the Metal Heroes! The momentum for this new golden age of Toei’s 3rd big franchise started in 2012, with Gavan Vs Gokaiger which set the precedent for future Metal Hero/Sentai crossovers. Flash forward to 2017 with the release of Space Squad: Gavan Vs Dekaranger and we get a brand new figuart as well, S.H. Figuarts Space Sheriff Gavan Type G Space Squad Version!

The Space Squad version of Gavan Type G is meant to be a renewal of sorts for the old original mold. One that was riddled with quality issues. I’m happy to report though that this time around, Gavan Type G is much improved physically! One big thing that really sets this release apart from the first though is the new Laser Blade Origin. A powerful new weapon that forged on Juspions’ home world. And luckily we get 3 variations of this new weapon.

In case you missed it, Bandai announced the release of S.H.Figuarts Retsu Ichijoji, the human identity of Space Sheriff Gavan. P-Bandai’s launched the pre order page and we now have official stock photography of the photo in addition to price, and release date!

S.H.Figuarts Retsu Ichijoji includes an array of swappable hands, and a particle effect piece representing the transformation into Gavan. Retails for 6264 yen before middleman fees and overseas shipping, S.H.Figuarts Retsu Ichijoji will see release sometime in November 2017.

The Tamashii Nations Akiba Showroom has updated it’s displays once again with a slew of new releases and at least one yet to be confirmed:

  • S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon Neo, slated for October release for 5500 yen.
  • S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon New Omega, will also be out in October and is priced at 5500 yen. Both Amazons will be retail releases.
  • S.H. Figuarts Retsu Ichijouji, the original Space Sheriff, Gavan has been lurking around as a prototype since last year but has now been confirmed for a Tamashii Web Exclusive release in November for 6264 yen!
  • S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Maximum Mighty Level 99. Though this figure has yet to be confirmed with a release date or price, it’s inclusion at the showroom is a very good indicator of it’s future.

Photos from Bandai’s Tamashii World Tour event have surfaced coming courtesy of TAGHobby and we have a plethora of new S.H.Figuarts reveals from that event!

First off, we have two new additions to the S.H.Figuarts Shinchoku Seihou line with Kamen Rider Eternal and Kabuto Hyper Form having been revealed.

And for you Metal Hero fans, there’s the Space Sherif Gavan’s human identity: S.H.Figuarts Retsu Ichijouji along with a better look at some previously announced stuff like Gemm and Neo Amazon.

Do note that none of these new reveals have been given release information as of yet, and as of this posting remain as display only pieces.

Protect the brands! While this may mean nothing at all it is still worth reporting. As of 04/19/2017 Saban Brands has registered trademarks for “Beetleborgs” and “VR Troopers“, specifically in the realm of live action television series, pre-recorded DVDs, and random clothing apparel items.

For those waiting for Dak and the adventures of Masked Rider to return in some way, shape, or form … you may have to keep waiting. Stay tuned for more news on all this as it develops!

A new full length trailer for the upcoming crossover special Space Sheriff Gavan VS Tokusou Sentai DekaRanger has been posted online!

This trailer offers fans an in-depth look at the returning cast & a demonstration of the action scenes as directed by longtime tokusatsu veteran Koichi Sakamoto:

Gavan VS DekaRanger is currently scheduled for release on June 17, 2017!

Just over 1 month ago TokuNation.Com began the countdown to January 4th 2017, to mark our official 5 year anniversary!  Check out the lovely commemoration of the day written up by our own Kickback. And as with every year to honor our anniversary, we hosted the massive Toku Toy Box giveaway! Now the Metal Heroes franchise stands at the edge of it’s 35th anniversary in 2017. Gavan is getting a lot of love next year with the 1:1 scale replica of the Laser Blade, a renewal figuart with his bike, and yet another movie appearance! So we felt the time was right, now more than ever, to take a look back at the original S.H. Figuarts Space Sheriff Gavan for Toku Toy Box!

“Superchange!”

I know you probably weren’t expecting us to double up on galleries from B-Robo Kabutack with this years’ Toku Toy Box, but just for Christmas we wanted to give you an incredible treat. Today we’re sharing an unprecedented look at an elusive figure of which only 5 exist in the world. We are proud to present this full gallery of the Superchange Silver Chrome Kuwajiro!

You read that right. This incredibly rare figure was limited to just 5. These figures were awarded to 5 young lucky Japanese fans for a Coloring Contest hosted by TV-Kun Magazine in 1997. Since then they’ve mostly faded into obscurity. Most Metal Hero collectors simply don’t know this release exists. The other 4 Kuwajiros are currently in collections somewhere across the world but I was lucky enough to stumble upon an auction for this one myself. And now I’m immeasurably proud to be able to share this full gallery of it below.

It’s purchases like these that truly excite me. I absolutely love sharing looks at obscure & rare figures with this community, and Silver Kuwajiro fits both those criteria fantastically.
