Hey fans of Power Rangers!  If you’re in to conventions, you need to make sure you head to this year’s official Power Rangers convention, Power Morphicon!  Held this year at the Pasadena Convention Center on August 22nd through the 24th, it is the SUPER MEGA place to get your Ranger-on with the largest gathering of past and current Power Rangers actors, as well as actors from other American tokusatsu series like VR Troopers, Masked Rider, and Kamen Rider Dragon Knight!  This year is going to blow all the other years out of the water with the announcement of the following Power Rangers!

  • Austin St. John (the original Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger and the Gold Zeo Power Ranger)
  • Matt Mullins (Wing Knight on Kamen Rider Dragon Knight)
  • Monica May (the Yellow SPD Power Ranger)
  • Kevin Duhaney (the Blue Dino Thunder Power Ranger)
  • Jeff Parazzo (the White Dino Thunder Power Ranger)
  • Alyson Kiperman (the Yellow Wild Force Power Ranger)

With those additions you will have a Power Ranger from almost every single season of Power Rangers!  Even more awesome, with the addition of Monica May, fans of Power Rangers SPD will be super-excited to know that the entire core cast of SPD Power Rangers is now in attendance to appear!  There are also a ton of behind-the-scenes guests, like writers, directors, and members of the stunt team.  But the biggest announcement, without a doubt, is the return of Austin St. John who has been out of the fandom for a few years now.  What a perfect time to get your S.H. Figuarts Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger signed!  Or in my case, a Power Rangers Super Legends Gold Zeo Ranger!

It’s time for another Titanium Powered gallery here at TokuNation!

Just to remind you, everyone’s favorite Power Rangers are fighting it out in Saban’s Morphin Madness competition! Today we want to take a look at something just as unique and original as Titanium Ranger himself, and that’s his personal weapon; the Titanium Laser! This deluxe scale weapon is a child sized version of the one used by Ryan Mitchell in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. And it actually replicates both the Laser (blaster)  & Resuce (axe) modes pretty darn accurately. Ahead of it’s air date tomorrow morning, the official Power Rangers youtube page has just uploaded a new clip from Power Rangers Super Megaforce’s 6th episode “Spirit of the Tiger”! In this new clip we see Jake & Emma, under the guidance of Casey/Red Jungle Fury Ranger, learning to tap into their inner animal spirits.

The brief episode  summary “When the Rangers face a monster with a magnetic power to wrench their weapons away from them, Jake and Emma turn to quiet local Zoo Keeper named Casey to learn a special form of martial arts that helps them channel their personal animal spirits.”

Shift into Turbo!

It’s time for another vintaqe ranger gallery! This time we’re taking a trip down memory lane with Power Rangers Turbo and the Turbo Shifter Phantom Ranger figure! Based on VRV Master from Gekisou Sentai Carranger, Phantom Ranger has a much more significant role than his original counterpart. An ally to both the Turbo and In Space rangers he quested across the galaxy to find Zordon, fought the Alliance of evil, and all the while provided the rangers with new zords! VRV Master was much more of a support type character and as such when the time came for Gokaiger’s 35th sentai anniversary season, he was not counted among the sentai teams nor even 6th rangers or extra heroes, and thus a ranger key was never made for him.

But we can change that! Saban’s Morphin Madness is still ongoing and while Phantom Ranger has made it to round 2, it’s up to you the fans to make sure he makes it all the way to the end! The 5 winning rangers of the Morphin Madness bracket will in fact be turned into limited edition Ranger Keys! This bracket would appear to be the ONLY chance for the Titanium Ranger & Phantom Ranger to ever make it into key form! Not content with making their listeners wait another month for an episode, Kickback and Den-O pushed forward through busy schedules and an absent Sentai Tamashii to record an episode of Talkin Toku – The TokuNation Podcast! But how do you fill the void of Sentai Tamashii? You bring in popular Power Rangers fan and enthusiast Eric (@trekkieb47 on Twitter, host of the @RangerCommandPH podcast) to talk some toku! The hilarity started early, it was constant, and never really went away. We can’t really stress just how much we laughed making this episode and all the pieces that went in to it.

Join hosts Chris, Jordan, and Eric as they discuss conventions – LexCon, San Diego Comic Con, and Power Morphicon – and some of the celebrities that they’ve run in to outside of the typical convention atmosphere. The conversation quickly changes to Tasting the Trainbow with recent developments on Ressha Sentai ToQGer, discussing what we like and do not like about the show thus far. Things go from happy rainbows to facepalms as the crew dips down in to the depths of Power Rangers Super Megaforce, focusing on the episode “A Lion’s Alliance”, and pretty much lose their focus and composure as they discuss all the things wrong with the show. An attempt at Kamen Rider Gaim discussion is made, but Power Rangers Super Megaforce sneaks back in as soon as someone mentions the phrase “new powers”.

On the heels of this year’s LexCon, arguably the most popular Power Ranger of all time, Jason David Frank who played the Green Ranger and White Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the Red Ranger in both Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers Turbo, as well as the Black Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Thunder, has released the second episode of his self-created reality show titled My Morphin Life.  The video is below.

This episode features what many of us have come to known as convention burnout and convention hangover, where the crowds and the excitement literally drain every bit of energy from your body.  Follow Jason David Frank as he attempts to survive LexCon 2013.  This video features interviews with other former Power Rangers about Jason David Frank, including Walter Jones, Blake Foster (who is credited as his character’s name instead of his actual name), Catherine Sutherland, Karan Ashley, and the always lovable Jason Narvy.  Click on the discussion link to share your thoughts about the episode!

Titanium Power!

In case you didn’t know it, currently everybody’s favorite rangers are fighting it out in Saban’s Morphin Madness competition. And the one and only Titanium Ranger is also a part of this free for all competition! Titanium Ranger was of course the first entirely US exclusive ranger introduced into the Power Rangers saga, he holds a unique place as he has no Japanese Sentai counterpart. Created for Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, the Titanium Ranger continues to have fans even to this day!
