In celebration of the Power Rangers and their anniversary season, our very own conundrum is taking you back in time so you can Shift in to Turbo with a look at an older figure – the 8 inch Quick Draw Phantom Ranger figure!  For those of you who remember Power Rangers Turbo, the Phantom Ranger was an ally to the Power Rangers.  He would appear in both Power Rangers Turbo and Power Rangers In Space, but his true identity was never revealed (but the speculation runs rampant to this day).  If you’re more a fan of the Sentai side of things, then you recognize the figure as the VRV Master from Gekisou Sentai Carranger, an ally but not an official 6th Ranger to the team.  Unfortunately, due to his lack of an appearance in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, the probability that he appears in Power Rangers Super Megaforce is slim, as his costume was never seen on set.

At last year’s Toy Fair, Bandai announced the domestic release of the DX Gosei Great mould that saw release in Japan akin to the Samurai Megazord.

The toy has finally resurfaced and is now available for pre order  on Amazon. Though the website lists it as the “Legendary Megazord”, the toy photoed is indeed the Gosei Great  not to confuse it with the US name for Gokaioh.

No word on a street date was given, but Amazon.com lists the Nihon Edition DX Gosei Great for $80 with a Free Shipping listing available.

The good people at RangerCrew have shared a new preview for the upcoming fifth episode of Power Rangers Super Megaforce, titled “Samurai Surprise!”

When a powerful monster named Matacore is sent by the emperor to take on the Rangers, they face a challenge like never before. Luckily, help comes in the form of a mysterious Samurai visitor.

In honor of the annual March Madness for college basketball, Saban Brands and Bandai of America have teamed up to create their own themed version of the bracket – Morphin Madness – where fans of Power Rangers will vote on their favorite Power Rangers against each other in a bracket-style tournament!  In the end, the Power Rangers that are the last standing will become a special edition Ranger Key set to be given to lucky fans who participate.  The grand prize however will be a 24k plated Gold Legendary Morpher (much like the 2013 SDCC 24k plated Gold Gosei Morpher).

We’re still not entirely sure how this is going to play out or how this is going to work – but at 4pm today (we assume PST/PDT) we will find out!  Begin the countdown and at 4pm head on over to MorphinMadness.com and begin voting for your favorite Power Rangers!

Cross one more off the list for Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger! 

S.H. Figuarts Mammoth Ranger was just released as a Tamashii Web Exclusive. But don’t let that stop you from getting him! The Bluefin release of this figure will be out next month as the Mighty Morphin Black Ranger.

This  of course awesome figure goes perfectly with the 4 previous Zyuranger releases. Mammoth Ranger is another excellent addition to the line though the accessories included are  a bit odd. He’s got the standard extra hands, Ranger Stick, & Thunder  Slinger. The other Zyuranger weapons included are remolded from their past (and upcoming) releases. They’re meant to combine into the Howling Cannon (Power Blaster). But that also means the  Mammoth Breaker included isn’t quite accurate, read on to find out why.

The red Super Megaforce Power Ranger, Andrew Gray, tweeted out an image today advertising this week’s episode of Power Rangers Super Megaforce!  Unfortunately for Andrew, he’s about three weeks early – because his image gives us the first look of Cameron Jebo, aka Orion the Silver Ranger – who isn’t set to debut until the end of the month!

This Saturday Power Rangers Super Megaforce episode 4 will air – “A Lion’s Alliance” – in which our heroes are searching for the Red Lion Zord to add to their arsenal for the Legendary Megazord!  The hot debate this week was whether or not we would use the use of more NEW POWERS as the Super Sentai footage features a majority of scenes with Turboranger and Jetman.  The following clip answers our questions (hint: hope you like new footage!).

Thanks to Papercutz, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers return to continue their battles against Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd.
