Power Rangers Micro Morphers Rangers & Zords Blind Bag Mini Gallery

Posted on April 16, 2019 at 9:46 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Unleash the Beast!”

With Hasbro’s acquisition of the Power Rangers brand, both the TV show and the toy line have been revitalized. From the lowest price point entries up to the largest scale figures, everything has changed. While the majority of the brand is heavily focused on the currently airing Beast Morphers, we are still getting some product from throughout the franchise. One way is with collector style figures in the Lightning Collection line, another is through the mini figure line of Micro Morphers! Consisting of rangers, villains, and even some megazords, this line offers a fun alternative for fans of all ages.

Today we’ve taken a look at the Micro Morphers line for a little mini-review with 1 Blind Bag of rangers and 1 Megazord Blind Box. Coming 2 with 2 rangers per pack, the blind bag we opened came with a lovely Morph-X Red Ranger and the one and only Rita Repulsa! While our Megazord pack included the Beast-X Megazord as well as Smash the Beast Bot and the villainous Slicertron!

We’ve put together a 40 image mini-gallery of these figures that you can see attached to this post. Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see our full review and breakdown of these blind packs as well. We’ll be back soon with 6″ Blaze & Tronic!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Geiz Gallery

Posted on April 11, 2019 at 3:30 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“In that case, I need to put an end to that destiny right now!”

Born in a future without hope, Geiz Myokoin fought as a resistance fighter against the overlord, Oma Zi-O. But with everything in his life decimated by the overlord, Geiz resolved to travel to the past and eliminate him before he could ever rise power. Using a Time Mazine & Ziku Driver, Geiz comes to the present day as Kamen Rider Geiz! But faced with a Zi-O who’s anything but the evil overlord he knows, can Geiz bring himself to change the future? Or will a begrudging friendship with present day Sougo Tokiwa send history down another path?

The final secondary rider of the Heisei Era arrives! Following up from our review of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zi-O, Kamen Rider Geiz brings basically all the same qualities to the line. A minor retool and extensive repaint of the Zi-O mold, Geiz is a well rounded, well articulated figure that fits in fantastically with mainline figuarts as well Shinkocchou Seihou releases. While it lacks weapons like Zi-O, Geiz does include two 20 Rider Kicks Ridewatch Tamashii Stages!

We’ve attached the full 70+ image gallery to this post, but you can also check out the full review of Kamen Rider Geiz by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Next time, we head back to the Morhpin Grid with a review Beast Morphers 6″ Cybervillain Blaze!

Power Rangers Beast Morphers 6″ Basic Red Ranger Gallery

Posted on April 4, 2019 at 6:21 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Unleash the Beast!”

Was it chance or fate that Devon Daniels just happened to sneak into Grid Battleforce headquarters on the day that the villainous Evox infiltrated it? Planning to turn the soon to be Power Rangers into his avatar puppets, Evox struck and succeeded with two potential heroes. But thanks to Devon, Ravi, & Zoey, Evox hasn’t won yet. To stop the avatars Blaze & Roxy the latest generation of teenagers with attitude harness the power of Morph X to become the Power Rangers!

The Beast Morphers toyline has officially kicked off in Canada and the US! Meaning collector’s all over are beginning to see these toys in the wild for the first time. Some of the first products being spotted at most retail stores are the 6″ Basic Figure Wave 1 assortment. The Red Ranger from this assortment kicks the line off really nicely and sets the bar a lot higher than any ranger figure’s from Bandai America ever did at this price point. The new 6″ scale is a welcome change to most, there’s better articulation than what we used to get, no more steroid muscle proportions and these figure’s actually come with multiple accessories! Like the Beast X Saber, Cheetah Beast Blaster, and a Morph X Key!

We’ve assembled over 65 images of the 6″ Basic Red Ranger in this gallery. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to our full review thread. Our next Beast Morphers gallery will feature none other than Cyber Villain Blaze!

S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider W Heat/Metal Gallery

Posted on March 4, 2019 at 11:41 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Heat! Metal”!

The two-tone detectives of Fuuto, Shotaro & Phillip, are best known for their traditional Cyclone/Joker combo as Kamen Rider W! But when the situation changes, W adapt’s. A ferocious fight? Fang/Joker rampages! Need a special trick shot? Luna/Trigger has you in the cross-hairs! And on their very first case, against the T-Rex Dopant, another mix did the trick. Kamen Rider W Heat/Metal brings the heat and the force to wield it!

Shinkocchou Seihou Heat/Metal really does bring the heat. As the now 7th outing of the Seihou W mold, it’s still keeping things interesting. Exquisite paint apps and finely sculpted features can go a long way to keeping something from feeling stale. The inclusion of a wide variety of hands and a few versions of W’s Metal Shaft really go a long way to making this figure impressively expressive too. A few choice flame effect parts would have made this release perfect, thankfully I had quite a few spares to use for my review!

Check out our full 60 image gallery after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Next time, things heat up even more in our explosive gallery of Kamen Rider Cross-Z Magma!

Tokyo Comic Con Exclusive HAF Redman Dark Gallery

Posted on February 26, 2019 at 3:16 pm by Den-O under Conventions, General Tokusatsu News, Other Conventions, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights, Ultraman

“Reddo Fight!”

A while back we reviewed the very first figure in Evolution Toy’s Hero Action Figure (HAF) line. HAF Redman was unfortunately a mixed bag of QC issues. In the time since that figure’s release, the first and now second volume’s of the amazing REDMAN comic from Phase 6 and Night Shining. Series writer & artist Matthew Frank has crafted and truly compelling reinvention of the Redman story and breathed new life into an otherwise obscure cult character. Thanks to Matt we also got our hands on the subject of today’s gallery.

Today we’re looking at the incredibly limited Tokyo Comic Con exclusive REDMAN Volume 2 Dark Channel Edition! Not only does this version of volume 2 feature an exclusive limited cover differing from the retail version, but the Dark Channel also came packed with the the even more limited (just 300 pieces!) HAF Redman Dark Version! Thankfully, Matt was kind enough to pick up a Dark Channel Edition for us while he was set up at the Tokyo con, and was also generous enough to sign inside my personal copy of Japanese volume 2. Redman Dark himself is a familiar figure if you’ve handled the original, but there’s something to be said for a sleek black color scheme and some truly incredible glow-in-the-dark eyes.

Check out our full 40 image gallery and review after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in a couple days with a gallery of S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider W Heat/Metal!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zi-O Gallery & Review

Posted on February 21, 2019 at 11:27 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“I think I was destined to choose this path.”

Little did Sougo Tokiwa know, his childhood dreams of being a great king were prophetic in a way. Should they ever come to pass, they could create the desolate future ruled by Sougo’s own evil self, the overlord Oma Zi-O! In the present, Sougo journey’s down the path of the overlord, defeating Another Riders as Kamen Rider Zi-O! But with the Day of Oma approaching, will Zi-O become the evil overlord? Or will Kamen Rider Geiz, the Time Jackers, Kamen Rider Woz, or even Kamen Rider Decade, manage to contain his power? Time, will tell…

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zi-O kicks off this year’s new Figuarts sub-line as a pretty solid release. While assuredly many will take issue with this figure’s lack of accessories (which are included with the Ride Striker) this figure has a lot to offer and lots of personality. Zi-O is a well rounded, well articulated figure that fits in fantastically with mainline figuarts as well Shinkocchou Seihou releases. Though Seihou Kamen Rider Kiva still hasn’t been released, seeing Zi-O with his fellow lead riders is still quite the sight. And if you happen to have a DX Time Mazine as I do, you’ll find that Figuarts Zi-O works quite well with him. Zi-O also compliments Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Decade marvelously.

We’ve attached the full 60+ image gallery to this post, but you can also check out the full review of Kamen Rider Zi-O by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Next time, things heat up, with our gallery of Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider W Heat/Metal!

S.H. Figuarts Hell Bros Gallery

Posted on February 18, 2019 at 3:13 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Hell Bros. At your service.”

The orphans Fu & Rai Washio were indoctrinated by Juzoburo Nanba, and raised to be weapons for the 3-sided war for the nation. Making use of the Nebula Steam Gun, the Washio brothers became Engine Bros & Remocon Bros! However, faced with the continued evolution of the Kamen Riders that threaten their master’s will, Fu Washio plays his trump card. Uniting the power of the Engine & Remocon Gears, Fu becomes Hell Bros!

S.H. Figuarts Hell Bros is another very familiar release for Build collectors. Using the iconic Night Rogue/Blood Stalk body for a base, Hell Bros builds on this with the gear theme inherited from the Bi-Kaisers. A gorgeous two-tone villain Hell Bros is armed with the versatile transforming Nebula Steam Gun system. If you have any experience with Rogue & Stalk, then you know this will be another great addition to your collection.

We’ve attached the full 55 image gallery to this post, but you also read our full review by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. In a few days we’ll be back with the overlord of time & space himself, Kamen Rider Zi-O!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Great Cross-Z Gallery

Posted on February 11, 2019 at 12:00 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

“Wake up Cross-Z! Get great dragon!”

Unable to transform, Ryuga Banjou can only watch helplessly as Kazumi & Gentoku struggle against Kamen Rider Evol. But the battle before him can also push Ryuga beyond his limits. Stealing the Evol Dragon Bottle that was made from his own DNA, Banjou will unlock the power necessary to evolve even further. Reborn with even greater strength Ryuga has become Kamen Rider Great Cross-Z!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Great Cross-Z is a very basic but definitely well executed repaint of the original Kamen Rider Cross-Z release. A gorgeous figure now decked out in an Evol themed color scheme, Great Cross-Z is a perfect companion piece to your Build collection and fantastic stand-in if you missed out on the original Cross-Z Figuart. Luckily this release also comes pack with all the same accessories as the first, so you won’t miss out on any of the extra hands or that sweet Beat Crosser. As a huge fan of the show, I’m really pleased to have Great Cross-Z and it’s getting me even more pumped for the upcoming Cross-Z Magma!

We’ve attached the full 60+ image gallery to this post, but you can also check out the full review thread for Great Cross-Z by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back soon with another Build gallery for S.H. Figuarts Hell Bros!

S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Silver Fanged Knight Zero Gallery

Posted on January 24, 2019 at 10:30 am by Den-O under Garo, General Tokusatsu News, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

“Why?! Why did you kill Shizuka?!”

Once an orphan, Ginga Suzumura became an inheritor of the Zero armor before his new life was shattered by the Dark Knight Kiba. The loss of his loved ones gave Ginga, now known as Rei, the determination needed to master the Zero armor, and seek revenge. Mistaking Garo for the murderous Kiba, the two heroes clashed before uniting to defeat the dark knight. Walking a lonely path no more, Bandai has given Rei the treatment he deserves as S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Zero!

Seihou Zero joins the previously released Garo as a much needed update for a character who’s deserved it for so long. For the first time in over a decade this character has been truly recreated in figure form. Zero brings to the line his stylish silver paint job, but also the deadly dual Ginroken. These curve blades can also combine into the massive Ginga Ginroken! A fantastic companion piece to Seihou Garo, we can only hope that more Makai Knights are on the way.

Check out our full 70 image gallery of S.H. Figuar0ts Shinkocchou Seihou Zero after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” to be taken to the full gallery and review. Next time we’re paying a visit to the Game Master once again!
