Customs Corner Interview- October- Nrin Vakil/ZordBuilder

Posted on October 8, 2017 at 8:16 pm by KamenRiderOOO under TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

It’s that time of year again when everyone starts getting their costumes together! Oh wait, typo, I meant Customs together! This month we sat down and had a talk with one of our very own members, Nrin Vakil, also known on his other social media accounts as ZordBuilder! In addition to sitting down for an interview, he has decided that Tokunation is the perfect place to unveil his fully assembled Dino Force Brave Team with accurate dinosaur helmets! We are honored to be the ones to premiere these customs, as they look positively amazing! Also featured in this article is some of his custom zords, such as the Futabasaurus Zord and the Tupandactylus Zord, as well as a team of Rangers based on Ammonite, Archelon, Futabasaurus and Fukuiraptor!

Be sure to click here to discuss! Follow NrinVakil/ZordBuilder on his social media accounts, such as Twitter and Facebook!

BCR 01 Kamen Rider Build Rabbit Tank Form Gallery

Posted on October 7, 2017 at 7:32 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Best Match!”

Kamen Rider Build has been blazing through it’s initial plot at break neck speed. And now only 5 episodes in, with every revelation further questions are raised. Without further adieu we wanted to get our very first gallery from the series up, so we’re kicking things off the first release from the Build Change Rider toyline. BCR 01 Kamen Rider Build Rabbit Tank Form!

Rabbit Tank Form is Builds standard base form, and as the first release in the line this figure should be the standard bearer of what we can expect from here on. With a unique take on the combination gimmick this line manages to make swapping out halves quite easy and entertaining. However it does put severe limitations on articulation. But if that doesn’t bother you, this can be fun line with plenty of multiple display options. This release also includes Build’s standard Drill Crusher Blade Mode as it’s lone accessory.

We’ve attached the full 80 image gallery to this post, but you can also click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to read our review in the full gallery thread. We’ll back next time with a brand new Shinkocchou Seihou gallery from Kamen Rider Kabuto!

Ultraman: S.H. Figuarts Gomora Gallery

Posted on September 24, 2017 at 3:32 pm by Den-O under TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights, Ultraman

It’s time once again to check out a giant sized creature of epic proportions in another Ultraman S.H. Figuarts gallery! Dating back to the original TV series, episode 26 to be exact, is the immense creature Gomora! Though we’ve seen examples of this species many times since it’s debut, the most memorable for many is still the original.

S.H. Figuarts Gomora is a pretty beefy figure when you get right down to it. A beast fit to fight your Ultramen figures. Gomora lacks some of the better articulation we’ve come to expect with Kaiju figuarts, but does make up for things with his wonderfully segmented tail. Pair him up with your S.H. Figuarts Ultraman, or in my case the old Ultra-Act V2, and you can see just why Kaiju figuarts continue to go strong. He even includes some special accessories to replicate his severed tail and horn from his battle with Ultraman!

We’ve attached the full 70 image gallery to this post but you can also check out our full length review of S.H. Figuarts Gomora by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Next time we’ll be back to “Start our mission” with a brand new gallery from Kamen Rider Drive!

S.H. Figuarts Tokkei Winspector Full Package Option Set Gallery

Posted on September 20, 2017 at 10:50 am by Den-O under Metal Heroes, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“MAYDAY MAYDAY S.O.S.!”

No surprise after all this time, but Tokkei Winspector is my absolute favorite Metal Heroes series. One of my all time tokusatsu period. And over the last two years Tamashii Nations has really treated fans like myself to a great selection of collector figures. We’ve gotten the entire team with Fire, Bikel, & Walter! And late last year a massive accessory pack was released for the trio. Well at long last I’ve been able to complete my comprehensive gallery of this set. The S.H. Figuarts Tokkei Winspector Full Package Option Set!

This sprawling accessory set makes up the totality of every relevant accessory ever used in the series. From Bikel & Walter’s Maintenance tables to Fire’s Win/Fire Badge, even minor weapons like the Clapper & Spin Claw, all the way up to the (literal) big guns like the Giga Streamer in all 3 of it’s forms! We even get treated to 3 full Multi Packs compatible with each figure and a selection of harness to accommodate them. This truly is the most complete accessory set I’ve ever seen for S.H. Figuarts. I am beyond pleased.

I have taken far far too long to finally get this gallery polished off, but I’m so proud of the results. This was a labor of love for me. Giving my favorite Metal Hero team their due. This gallery consists of 140 images, we’ve attached every one of them to this post. You can also click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be take to our extensive review thread for this set. While there are still a few releases I would love to see for this series, as detailed in the thread, for now I can happily say, farewell Winspector.

Customs Corner- September Interview- ZeltraxMillenium

Posted on September 6, 2017 at 10:04 pm by KamenRiderOOO under TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

Just like Nickelodeon and Power Rangers Ninja Steel, Customs Corner comes back from a month long hiatus. Where we last left off, it was March and we had seen Grimlockimus’s large-scale project- the Original Color Movie Megazord. But while many enjoy the large scale items, what about the smaller scaled ones? What about the Ranger Keys or the Bandai of America Ranger and Monster figures? Well, look no further than one of our site member’s works! This month’s featured article is on ZeltraxMillenium, an old acquaintance of mine and a fellow customizer. Here, you can check out his gallery of past works, as well as read up on his interview in the discussion below.

Be sure to give him a follow on his Twitter account, @ZeltraxMilleniu!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kabuto Hyper Form (Original Release) Gallery

Posted on September 1, 2017 at 1:31 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Hyper Cast Off.”

There’s only one man who can walk the path of heaven. And while it’s been a long time coming, Bandai is finally tackling Kamen Rider Kabuto’s most powerful form with a new Shinkocchou Seihou figuart. However, with this premium do over on the way (as always) we like to reflect on the original figure that needed an update in the first place. With that said, let’s take a look at S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kabuto Hyper Form (original Release.)

The original Kabuto Hyper Form was released nearly 7 years ago. In terms of where figuarts engineering is today, that’s an eternity. Many releases from this era have begun the transition into the Shinkocchou Seihou line but many more still need it as well. Hyper Kabuto though manages to still be a charming figure even after all these years thanks to a fairly involved Clock Up transformation, his Perfect Zecter, & the included wings of light for his Hyper Kick. What we’ve seen of the Shinkocchou Seihou release already puts this one to shame, but for a collector on a budget the original release of Kabuto Hyper Form is still a worthwhile alternative.

We’ve attached the entire 80 image gallery to this post, but you can click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see full gallery thread with review. We’ll be back next time with another throwback gallery, this time focusing on Ultraman Belial!

Ultra Seven: S.H. Figuarts Alien Metron Gallery

Posted on August 22, 2017 at 12:49 pm by Den-O under TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights, Ultraman

The golden age of poseable Kaiju figures is upon us! Ever since Tamashii Nations made the line transition for Ultraman figures Ultra-Act to S.H. Figuarts the biggest benefactors of that have been Kaiju. Long forgotten in the Ultra-Act line, we now have some really great functional figure alternatives to Bandai’s long line of Ultra Kaiju vinyls. In the spirit of the lines success it’s time to look at an often forgotten Kaiju from Ultra Seven with S.H. Figuarts Alien Metron!

Do you like deadly sci-fi cigarettes? Interested in squid like alien monsters? Well then, Bandai’s got you covered on both counts with Alien Metron. This iconic Kaiju faced off against Ultra Seven in the 8th episode of his own series culminating in the classic table scene with the one and only Dan Moroboshi! This figuart of Metron is probably my favorite of the Kaiju released so far. A figure with tons of personality and display options, Alien Metron will be a great addition to any Ultraman collection.

We’ve attached the full 40 image gallery to this post, but you can check out the full review thread as well by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back next time with a Kamen Rider Amazons gallery of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon Sigma!

S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Accel Gallery

Posted on August 18, 2017 at 6:32 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Now, let’s shake it off!”

Ryu Terui was an ordinary police office like anyone else, until the day that Isaka the Weather Dopant savagely murdered his entire family. With the help of Shroud though, Ryu began a quest for his revenge as Kamen Rider Accel! Now after 7 long years we get our own revenge on the original Accel figuart with this brand new premium style renewal! We finally have, S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Accel!

Seihou Accel is easily one of the best releases in this line so far. Where the original release skimped on details and skewed way off from proper proportions, this release nails every aspect of the design. It’s more vibrantly colored, capable of achieving poses the original simply couldn’t, and conveys Ryu Terui’s personality very well. Fantastically functional, Accel is also equipped with an extra head, two Gaia Memories, 5 sets of hands, and the Engine Blade! As far as premium style releases go, Accel is the full package.

We’ve attached the full 80 image gallery to this post, but you can click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see the full gallery & review thread as well. Next time I’ll be back with an overdue gallery from Ultra Seven with S.H. Figuarts Alien Metron!

S.H. Figuarts Space Sheriff Gavan & Saibarian Set Gallery

Posted on August 12, 2017 at 7:51 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News, Metal Heroes, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Electroplate!”

It’s that time again friends! A few weeks back we took at the fantastic new Space Squad release of Gavan Type G. This figure was a long overdue renewal that helped set the stage for the original Metal Hero himself to also receive this treatment. In this case though S.H. Figuarts Space Sheriff Gavan came packaged in a massive set with his unique ride the Saibarian!

Gavan like Type G really needed this renewal treatment. The old Gavan body was a pretty poorly made figure with numerous documented QC issues. While these new releases haven’t been perfect on that front, I’m looking at you chrome finish, they are above and beyond functionally better figures than the old releases. Gavan comes armed with 3 versions of his iconic Laser Blade as well as 4 sets of hands and a Laser Scope head. But the biggest and best accessory is of course the Saibarian! This long overdue bike is a top notch figuarts vehicle. Functionality it can fully transform, it’s got several tamashii stage ports built in for action shots, and despite being plastic, it has some decent heft to it. It’s a shelf presence.

The entire gallery of 150 images is attached to this post but feel free to  “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to read the full review and accessory breakdown as well! Next up on our gallery schedule is S.H. Figuarts Alien Metron from Ultraseven!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Heart Type Miracle Gallery

Posted on July 28, 2017 at 6:13 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Fire All Core. Drive, Type Miracle!”

In an attempt to revive his fallen friend, Gou Shijima managed to do the impossible& revive one of the most powerful Roidmudes ever, Heart! Simultaneously Gou managed to merge the Cores of Medic & Brain into Heart’s new body. Uniting their hearts and Cores together these 3 Roidmudes became the Kamen Rider to surpass even Drive. Debuting in the Heart/Mach v-Cinema, and finally available in figure form, it’s S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Heart Type Miracle!

Kamen Rider Heart as you’ll undoubtedly notice, is heavily based on Drive’s own Type Tridoron form. Much like the suit in the movie, this figure reuses a majority of Tridoron’s parts. But the new components incorporated into the body are derived from Heart’s original Roidmude form. It’s an odd fusion, but one that somehow works very well. While this is a pretty sparse release, Heart Type Miracle still has plenty of charm to it. Now if we could just get the mismatched Type Speed/Wild/Technic from Bandai, then all of Hearts’ forms would be represented in this line.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post, but you can view the complete 60+ image gallery after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to the full review and gallery. Next time we’ll be back with another new gallery from Space Sheriff Gavan!
