“It’s Morphin’ Time!”

It’s been a while since we’ve tackled a Legacy release from Bandai, and with their time with the Power Rangers license coming to end, we thought it appropriate to take a look at one of their last high end releases. Making it’s way out to retail currently at Toys R Us (as they go our of business themselves) is the Legacy Zeonizer!

It’s  unfortunate that this collector’s piece is heralding the end of the line, and a retailer, but we wanted to take a look at it while we could. The Legacy Zeonizer is the latest in Bandai’s line of high end prop replicas, and frankly it may be their best effort. A wonderful recreation of the morpher used in Power Rangers Zeo, this collector’s piece features a number of built in light & sound gimmicks including unique Morphin’ call outs and specific colors for each ranger. Of course the icing on the cake is it’s best feature, the ability to play the entire Power Rangers Zeo Opening Theme!

If you haven’t had much luck finding the recently released Power Rangers Legacy figures then you have another option available. Today, GameStop.com put up Legacy Power Rangers Zeo Figures Pre-Orders for all six of the Zeo Rangers. We’ve already known that Zeo Yellow and Zeo Pink were exclusive to GameStop, but now we have pre-orders available online for these as well as the other four figures.

It’s that time of year once again for the comic & toy convention season to get under way! And getting the ball rolling on both fronts is the upcoming Lexington Comic & Toy Con, from March 13th-15th! What began in 2012 as a con that garnered over 1000 guests has flourished in the years since to it’s height now, attracting upwards of 20,000 guests from the around the midwest & southeast!

What’s even more impressive is how the guest list for this con has grown from featuring just a few of your favorite Power Rangers actors, to being one of the nations premiere selections of ranger actors! This year the convention staff have pulled out all the stops to offer the BIGGEST selection of Power Rangers, & Indeed Super Sentai actors, possible! Not to mention a few other fantastic bonuses for Ultraman fans! Check out the full guest list as it pertains to the tokusatsu fandom below, as maintained by our very own uchihabro77! 

Aside from this star studded guest list, LexCon is also an opportunity for fans to make real world connections. As I’ve done in years past I will of course be there repping for TokuNation.com & the Talkin Toku Podcast. After months of speculation on whether these would even be released, cryptic answers from Bandai of America, and more than one of these packs showing up on sites like TaoBao, most of the remaining Power Rangers Super Megaforce Ranger Key packs have FINALLY hit retail! And it looks like the new keys packs are indeed Toys R Us exclusives!

Twitter user @clong83[/URL] found these 8 new Ranger Key Packs at the Willow Grove, PA Toys R Us location! They do feature the TRU exclusive sticker so that narrows your search area to find these as most retailers begin to switch over to Dino Charge product fro the winter/spring.

Curiously the Operation Overdrive & Wild Force Pack B’s have yet to be seen at retail with this assortment. Could they possibly drop at a later date? Have they been pulled from this assortment all together? For now we just don’t know. The packs released thus far though are:

Yesterday we saw two of these as yet unreleased Ranger Key Packs for the first time. Today brings us further images and character confirmation on tons of these new packs that have yet to hit US retail! Thanks to some likely questionable methods a seller on Chinese auction site Taobao[/URL] has been selling the new key packs. Here’s the breakdown of what we know:

This news was first reported yesterday with the discovery of the Turbo & Lost Galaxy B pack images. These new images have come to light thanks to the sleuthing of regular fandom contributor @PockyBandit on twitter! It appears that several of these new packs have already been sold by this particular Taobao seller as well, it could be only a matter of days before someone in the fandom has them in hand to share hi-res images!

For the third year running, the Lexington Comic & Toy Convention returns to Kentucky! If you haven’t heard of the show by now it’s quickly become THE east coast convention for Power Rangers actors! As the one big show that Kentucky has each year LexCon draws in attendance from all over the region with last years numbers surpassing 10,000! This convention will run from Friday March 14th- Sunday March 16th at Heritage Hall, Rupp Arena Convention Center. If you can make it to the show trust me, it is worth your while. Don’t forget that tomorrow, March 16h the Lexington Comic-Con 2013 begins! Festivities actually begin tonight with an awesome costume contest and late night mixer but the show will be open to VIP’s at 9AM tomorrow and to the general public at 10AM. This is only the second year of the convention but attendance is projected at over 6000! This year it’s double the length at 2 days and double the space at Lexington’s own Rupp Arena Convention Center.
