Just because there wasn’t an official update from Power Morphicon this week doesn’t mean that news didn’t break! For starters – if you haven’t registered yet we’re sorry to inform you that registration has ended. To attend the show you will now have to buy a pass at the show the day of the show each day. We can’t say we didn’t warn you though! And now for the rest of the news!

It was announced that there will be an official tournament for the defunct Power Rangers Action Card Game! For those who collected, sets one through four were released here in the United States, while set five was released only in Europe. However, the tournament will be open to anyone who would like to participate and they can use any of the cards and promo cards ever released. There will be prizes for the winner(s), including an entire set of the unreleased series 5 and more! Stay tuned for updates on how to enter so you can play.

Now on to the sad news – Jason Smith, better known as Casey the Jungle Fury Red Ranger has cancelled his appearance at the show. He has promised, however, to do some fun fan related events, contests, and so forth in the future. But we can’t end on bad news – so let’s bring up some good news! Previously cancelled guest Alyson Kiperman, who played Taylor the Wild Force Yellow Ranger, has rescheduled to appear on Saturday only! This is great news for those who were bummed about their Wild Force group photo opportunity. Don’t forget to get to the show early so you can grab your Jungle Fury Violet Ranger & Titanium Ranger Key Pack Exclusive – a sure-fire hit as it looks to be the only way to get the Titanium Ranger key!

Today was one of the biggest announcements yet for this year’s Official Power Morphicon convention. Promising an unbelievable announcement for today’s guest revealing was an understatement – fans of Power Rangers and Super Sentai now have a reason to come together.

Headlining today’s guest announcement is Yuuta Mochizuki, better known as Geki the Tyranno Ranger from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, the series that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was adapted from. Basically, the original Red Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Tyranno Ranger from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger will be appearing at a convention together for possibly the first and only time.

Also from the press release sent directly from the Official Power Morphicon convention comes the announcement that Hiroshi Maeda, a professional Japanese stunt actor, will be appearing at the show. You’ll know him best as the stunt actor for Tyranno Ranger in Zyuranger, as well as numerous other Red Rangers for the Power Rangers franchise. And last but not least – Yasuhiro Takeuchi, another Japanese stunt actor who played both Dragon Ranger in Zyuranger as well as the Green Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. On top of that, he has also worn many of the Megazord suits for filming.

The Official Power Morphicon convention happens August 22nd to August 24th at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California. Tickets are still available (but only for a couple of more weeks) – click here to begin your registration process so you don’t miss out!

If you’ve been missing new adventures of the Power Rangers Super Megaforce, good news – we have a date on when they will return! The bad news? You still have over another month to wait. Thanks to Fury Diamond and his Samurai Cast Blog, we know that Power Rangers Super Megaforce will return with all new episodes on Saturday, August 30th on Nickelodeon.

The first new episode will actually be Episode 09 of Super Megaforce titled “The Power of Six”, where Jake must get over his jealousy of Gia and Orion to help Orion use the combined powers of the past sixth Rangers in order to defeat a new monster. For those who didn’t follow Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, that means it’s the premiere episode of the Gold Mode for the Super Megaforce Silver Ranger, where he utilizes an armor with the faces of all the previous sixth Rangers.

To all you Power Rangers fans up north in Canada, specifically Toronto – great news!  The folks of Unplugged Expo have dropped by to let us know that they have officially announced that Kevin Duhaney, better known as Ethan James the Dino Thunder Blue Ranger will be attending as a special guest at this year’s show!  He is joining their Power Rangers line-up with Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam the Mighty Morphin Black Ranger, Zeo Green Ranger, and Turbo Green Ranger).

The Unplugged Expo takes place on September 27th and 28th at the Chestnut Conference Centre in downtown Toronto. Check out Kevin Duhaney‘s announcement video below!

But they’re not done yet! They have one more Power Rangers guest to announce in the near future! Can you tell that the convention season is in full swing? Every weekend there’s another show with another toku-related guest appearing! And we’re struggling to keep up! But for those of you who are planning to attend this year’s Anime Expo you’re in for a special treat!

For starters – fans of Kamen Rider Gaim will have a chance to meet the man responsible for this incredible series. The writer of the series, Gen Urobuchi, will be in attendance at this year’s show. He will be hosting his own panel to discuss his current and upcoming projects, and will be appearing at the Good Smile Company booth to sign autographs on Friday and Saturday starting at 11:00am.

And for you Power Rangers fans, you too have reason to rejoice! Alex Heartman, known better as Jayden the Power Rangers Samurai Red Ranger, as well as Hector David Jr. also known as Mike the Power Rangers Samurai Green Ranger will be in attendance on both Saturday and Sunday at the Power Morphicon/Robo Toy Fest booth. Exact times and autograph opportunities have yet to be listed.

Anime Expo 2014 is THIS weekend. In fact, it technically starts Thursday, July 3rd and runs through Sunday, July 6th. We are pleased to state that TokuNation.com will be in attendance (simply as fans), but will share any and all information with you that’s made available – especially anything Kamen Rider Gaim related that Gen Urobuchi reveals! We’re a little late on this update but that doesn’t mean it isn’t news! The Official Power Morphicon convention updated on Monday with a couple of new guests and, unfortunately, a cancellation. For starters, Anna Hutchison, better known as Lily the Jungle Fury Yellow Ranger will be joining Jason Smith and David de Lautour giving us the largest Power Rangers Jungle Fury reunion. Someone get in touch with Aljin Abella and Nikolai Nikolaeff and tell them to join the others for a true reunion! But she’s not the only guest – here’s the latest list from the update.

The internet sensation PelleK, who earlier this year did all the Power Rangers theme songs in concession as one giant song and was later picked up by Haim Saban himself, eventually having the song (and instrumental) released as the Power Rangers Mega Mix, has released an all new Power Rangers song simply titled “Go Go Power Rangers”. The boys are back from their crossover adventure with the release of Episode 12 – Lord Zedd Interview and Talkin Dino Charge! Talk some toku with your hosts Chris/Kickback, Jordan/Den-O, and Tom/Sentai Tamashii! In this week’s episode, Chris conducts the first ever Talkin Toku Interview with none other than Robert Axelrod, the voice of Lord Zedd from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Special thanks to Denver Comic Con for helping set up and coordinate a time and place for the interview. Chris also shares his thoughts on Denver Comic Con.

To round off the episode the guys keep the topic on Power Rangers, and more specifically discuss a couple of Power Rangers Monday articles – namely what do we want to see adapted in to Power Rangers Dino Charge from Kyoryuger and what else would we have liked to see adapted from Super Sentai in general in to Power Rangers? It’s a fun conversation as our hopes for a great season with Power Rangers Dino Charge especially with Judd Lynn at the helm show up in the conversation.
