Before we all look forward to the debut of Kamen Rider Saber this coming weekend, site contributor My Shiny Toy Robots looks back on the beginning of the Reiwa era – Kamen Rider Zero-One. In a new age of artificial intelligence and technological innovation, Aruto Hiden hasn’t just become a CEO…he’s also a Kamen Rider?! With his aide Izu at his side, can Aruto stop the advances of cyberterrorists MetsubouJinrai.net, and fight for humans and HumaGears alike?

Featuring multiple Riders, tournament arcs and unprecedented delays, Zero-One’s had a bumpy ride along the way but it’s fair to say that the series has brought people a lot of smiles over the past year. Please check out the review and let us know your favourite memories of Zero-One in the thread linked!

Toei has released new teasers confirming the updated release dates for the Super Sentai and Kamen Rider theatrical releases, previously postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

And for the first time in many years, the properties will no longer appear on a double-bill! Each tokusatsu film will have a separate release.

*The first project on schedule, Kamen Rider Zero-One The Movie will feature Aruto face off against a new foe, Kamen Rider Eden to determine the fate of the world. This film is set for release on December 18 2020.

*Next, Mashin Sentai Kiramager The Movie will be released in Spring 2021. Exact plot details have not been confirmed at time of writing but the film is set to feature a sparkling new adventure.

ADVENT 

Continuing through the lineage of the Heisei Era Kamen Riders, Bandai Spirits just revealed the next one to receive the Figure-Rise Standard treatment and it is none other than Kamen Rider Ryuki himself. In addition, Bandai has assured fans that more Heisei Kamen Riders will be joining this line, with the teaser for the next one to be from Kamen Rider Agito.

From the pictures, we can see that the Ryuki kit will include parts to build his Contract Monster, Dragreder other details at the time of this writing aren’t known, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated once more info is available.

Former Power Rangers comic book writer Kyle Higgins, responsible for the fan-favorite Shattered Grid storyline, has previewed a brand new creator-owned comic book.  Inspired by your favorite tokusatsu series as well as a Millennial Spider-Man, this new series features a character sporting a very toku-looking costume!

The main cover is drawn by Michael Cho.  Two variant covers are drawn by David Finch and Goni Montes.  The interiors are done by the very talented Marcelo Costa.

There is no information beyond that at this point.  Kyle has teased to follow his Twitter (@KyleDHiggins) for the name of this comic and what publisher it will be with very very soon.

Today’s geek culture has taken a serious hit thanks to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19.  We have seen the staples in the convention world shut down with a shift to offering only a spattering of the content we’re used to, sometimes behind a paywall.  Power Rangers fans will no doubt know that both Power Morphicon and RangerStop were forced to postpone their shows until next year at the earliest – there is no guarantee conventions will ever resume like they used to.

TokuNation is proud to announce our participation with The Viewing Globe – a Power Rangers Online Fan Experience for this Labor Day Weekend (September 4th through September 6th).  This is a free convention created by fans of Power Rangers and tokusatsu in general.

A new round of Super Sentai magazine scans has begun circling the Internet, offering fans a quick look at the future adventures of Mashin Sentai Kiramager!

The Kiramagers will be adding a new weapon to their arsenal- the Kiraful Go Arrow! This blue bow is initially wielded by KirameRed and is capable of many powerful attacks. The Kiraful Go Arrow can be used to summon a new Mecha known as the Grateful Phoenix– but sadly this Mecha remains unrevealed at time of writing.

When used alongside the other Kiramagers, the Kiraful Go Arrow unlocks its Kiraful Change ability and activates powerful new armor for the core five Kiramagers! The white phoenix styled upgrade greatly enhances the teams’ abilities.

The SIXTH Kamen Rider for this series has now been introduced- a hero by the name of Kamen Rider Buster!

Buster’s true identity is Ryo Onoue played by veteran actor Yuki Ikushima. Buster wields a massive & powerful weapon known as the Dogouken Gekidou.

Fifteen years prior to the start of the series, Kamen Rider Buster fought alongside the mysterious Kamen Rider Caliber. Since then, Ryo has focused on raising his young son, Sora. But when Caliber betrays the Sword of Logos Kamen Rider Buster returns to action determined to learn what happened to his friend.

Not to be outdone by the reveals of the Shinkocchou Seihou Kuuga’s today, we’ve also got fresh reveals of 3 new Tamashii Nations 2020 exclusives! 

Everyone’s favorite Ultra (who’s commemorating his 10th anniversary) Ultraman Zero, will be receiving an S.H. Figuarts Special Color Version release for the event. Decked out in metallic paint applications and including a specialized Tamashii stage, this release will retail for 5500 yen.

Next up is the event exclusive release from Kamen Rider Zero-One! After Shining Assault Hopper was revealed earlier this year, the question remained whether or not the infrequently seen standard Shining Hopper would be released as well. Look no further than this Tamashii Nations exclusive of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zero-One Shining Hopper! This figure will retail for 6000 yen.

And last but not least, Tamashii Nations is reaching into the past for this special release. Commemorating their own Tamashii Nations 2014 S.I.C. exclusive as well as the even older Tamashii Festival 2011 S.H. Figuarts exclusive is the brand new S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider OOO TaMaShii Combo for Tamashii Nations 2020! This special OOO form melds the powers of Ankh’s Taka Core Medal, with Momotaro’s Imagin Medal, and the Shocker core medal to create the living logo of Tamashii Nations! This release retails for 6500 yen.

Tamashii Nations is scheduled for Q4 2020 and as usual is likely to be held in October or November. As event exclusives these 3 releases will be a bit more difficult to come by than the average web exclusive, but they are likely to be released later as lottery items via Tamashii Web as well. As official images are release we’ll be sure to share them with the community.

“Cho Henshin!”

When Yuusuke Godai had to adapt to fight the more powerful Grongi attacking human kind, the Arcle unlocked more of the ancient powers of Kuuga! Now after quite a while since the last Kuuga release in the Shinkocchou Seihou subline, Tamashii Nations is giving us a double dose of the hero who protects smiles.

Set for release in February 2021 are two new additions to the Kuuga lineup with Kamen Rider Kuuga Dragon Form & Kamen Rider Kuuga Pegasus Form! This pair of S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou releases are coming out at the same time, both as Tamashii Web Exclusives, and are priced at 6000 yen each. That’s quite the month for rider collectors. Official images have yet to be released for either figure, but we’ll update this article when they are.

Ultraman’s global domination continues with the announcement of Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy! Following on from the success of last year’s Ultra Galaxy Fight: New Generation Heroes, Tsuburaya Productions have revealed a new mini-series which will be released weekly on Youtube in both Japanese and English dub. The series will be ten episodes in total, with a combined running time of approximately 90 minutes.

From the press release via the official Ultraman Galaxy website, the story is as follows:

Mysterious aliens and evil aliens that shouldn’t exist are attacking!

Zero, Ribut, Taiga, Z (Zett), 80, Max, Mebius, Great, Powered, Grigio, and many more Ultra Heroes must join forces, fight together, and solve this mysterious case, which could end up affecting the whole universe. However, this is only the beginning! A conspiracy is underway – and the threads of it are intersecting. What is the aim of the golden giant working in the shadows?!

The storyline will connect directly with the all-new Ultraman Z series, where the latest chapter of the epic history of Ultraman begins!
