While the next Super Sentai series, Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger, doesn’t officially begin airing until March of 2019 that doesn’t mean the toys won’t be heavily promoted leading up to their eventual release. Word on the street is Toei and Bandai Japan are going all-in for this series in hopes of turning what has felt like an inevitable tide of disappointing toy sales and show ratings for Super Sentai over the last few years.

Bandai Japan has released a few images for upcoming entries in the Kamen Rider Zi-O toyline, expanding the King of Time’s collection of RideWatches even more!

This next of Zi-O’s RideWatch devices wave will focus on Final Form Kamen Riders! New RideWatches feature the strongest forms of the Heisei Era:

The 43rd Super Sentai series is drawing closer and closer, and Bandai Japan has released official images for the first wave of Kishiryu Sentai RyuSoulger merchandise!

This new Super Sentai lineup includes:

*The RyuSoul sets- miniature knight figures that transform into dinosaur heads. These items will unlock the RyuSoulgers’ powers and weapons.

*The RyuSoul Buckle, an egg-shaped belt that holds the RyuSouls. Most DX releases will feature a unique RyuSoul- the Buckle comes with the FuuSoul.

*The RyuSoul Ken, the teams’ signature bladed weapon. The DX RyuSoul Ken will include the TsyuoSoul.

*The series’ henshin device, the RyuSoul Changer which offers a unique Red RyuSoul.

*Last but certainly not least, the traditional Super Sentai Vinyl figures return once again featuring the RyuSoulgers in detail.

Toei has announced something VERY unique for Kamen Rider– a stage play!

Returning to the world of Kamen Rider Gaim, this theatrical production will feature Kamen Rider Zangetsu returning to action. Actor Yuki Kubota will reprise his iconic role as Takatora Kureshima yet again.

While the full story details have not yet been released, the play will be written by Nobuhiro Mouri with supervision from Kamen Rider Gaim’s original writer, Gen Urobuchi.

Kamen Rider Zangetsu The Stage: Gaim Gaiden is currently scheduled for release in March 2019! Stay tuned to TokuNation for further details on this fascinating project!

Our friends over at Good Smile is finally gearing up to release Nendorid Akane Shinjo. A few days ago, GSC Blog gave us a preview of the figure along with her hefty accessory count which also appears to include a clear display stand too. 

 

Additional photos of this figure have now been released, and with that, we now have a release window for this adorable little figure. Nendoroid Akane Shinjo will run at a suggested MSRB of 4,630 yen.

Goodsmile’s online shop will begin accepting pre-orders on February 13, 2019.

2019 will see the debut of the much anticipated Kishiryu Sentai Ryuusouger. While many of us are still anticipating a cast reveal, fans will be disappointed to learn that we won’t have news regarding that this year. This is most likely due to the fact that Kishuryu Sentai Ryuusouger will have a late start on March 17th, 2019 at 9:30 AM, this is confirmed via a newspaper article that was posted earlier today.

We do, however, have new details regarding the show. We do know that the show’s head writer will be Junpei Yamaoko, his previous works include various J-Dramas and this will be his first Tokusatsu project.

Lastly, the show’s tagline will be “Five Swords to serve justice” and while Black And Green’s mecha are called Needlesaurus and Tigersarus respectively.

The Rider Kicks Figures legends line continues from Kamen Rider Zi-O! Next month offerings consist of two well loved riders from the last couple years. Making their debuts in the line are Kamen Rider Rogue and Kamen Rider GenM Level 0-X! 

Both figures join an expanding line up for armored up Zi-O & Geiz figures as well as a number of other legends like Build, Cross-Z, Evol, and more! Both Rogue & GenM Level 0-X will be released on January 26th. Each retails for 2484 yen.  Will you be adding these legends to your collection? Let us know in the thread below!

A few days ago, a slew of scans dropped giving us a glimpse at what Kamen Rider Zi-O had in store for us in the new year. The centerpiece of the scans were the three Kamen Riders of the future: Kamen Rider Woz, Kamen Rider Quiz, and Kamen Rider Shinobi. It came as a bit of surprise to learn that Quiz and Shinobi will not only be getting full-on stunt suits but story arcs of their own including their own Another Rider versions!

In another update, we now know that Kamen Rider Shinobi will be portrayed by Super Sentai alumni Hideya Takada better known in our little circle for having portrayed Kinji Takigawa/StarNinjger from Shuriken Sentai Nininger.

Kamen Rider Shinobi’s human identity will be known as Rentaro Kamikura, though much of his character and backstory remain a mystery. With this recent announcement, it stands to reason that Kamen Rider Quiz will most likely be getting his own civilian form as well though nothing has been announced at the time of this writing. Stay tuned though, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more info becomes available.

Yesterday, Bandai managed to acquire the license to release products from the successful  SSSS.Gridman anime with a prototype of  Minipla SSSS Gridman himself is the first of those products revealed.

In an unusual and bizarre turn of events, two of the shows most popular female characters: Akane Shinjo and Takarada Rikka will be getting Minipla model kits of their own. This will be a first for the Minipla line as it’s mostly done mecha or support vehicles until now.

For now, no other information exists on these two kits aside from the fact that they’ll be released in two sets and they’ll stand at 120mm tall, more information regarding the two will be revealed at the end of January 2019.

Bandai’s Zi-O Watcher candy toy blog was recently updated with an in-depth look at the upcoming SODO Zi-O RIDE5 set. Specifically, the Gaim and Decade armors were both featured heavily and in great detail. At the end of the post, an image was posted teasing what appears to be the big bad himself: Oma Zi-O.

It doesn’t seem likely that Oma-Zi-O will be included with SODO Ride 5 as we already know the set will contain the Gaim, Decade and Wizard Armor Times in addition to blank Zi-O and Geiz bodies to use with them.

Oma Zi-O is likely going to be included in whatever next set comes out. Either way, we’ll know more about this figure at the next update at the end of the month.
