Iori Izumi was born into the head Oni family of the Kanto region. A prodigy driven by loyalty to his family, and to his duty to defeat the Makamou, Izumi fully abandoned his human identity and fully became the Oni of the Izumi family, Kamen Rider Ibuki! After nay years of waiting, this master Oni of Breath arrives blow away any Makamou that stand in his path. For the first time ever, Ibuki makes his debut in the S.H. Figuarts line as a Shinkocchou Seihou!

Kamen Rider Hibiki finally joined the S.H. Figuarts line for the first time over 4 years ago, as only the 2nd Shinkocchou Seihou release, which set the bar fairly high at the time. After a long wait Hibiki’s secondary rider has arrived, so what can you expect? Well Ibuki shares the same physical body as Hibiki, just with new cosmetic changes to the armor. Decked out with brass styled pipes mimicking the Ongekikan Reppuu instrument he uses to destroy Makamou. Much like Hibiki this figure is packed down with accessories including his transformation whistle Onibue, and 3 disc animals. It’s really the full package.

The Super Sentai franchise is taking an unusual turn!

Following the conclusion of the current series Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger a special commemorative series known as the Super Sentai Strongest Battle will air in the normal timeslot, featuring 160 Sentai heroes facing off in a unique tournament to determine the strongest warrior in all of Super Sentai!

The tournament will be arranged into 35 teams with 5 members each. And a number of familiar faces will be returning for the featured team:


*Zyuoh Eagle/Yamato
*Gokai Red/Captain Marvelous
*Akaninger/Takaharu
*Sasori Orange/Stinger
*Toq 5/Kagura

And perhaps more Super Sentai veterans will drop in for the occasion!

This special tournament will begin February 17 2019!

Today, Toei began streaming a new video promoting the upcoming Kamen Rider Heisei Generations Forever film (which comes out in two days!). But rather than just a new teaser or trailer for the film, this video previews the films theme song, which is itself a compilation and re-mix of the Opening Themes for all 20 Heisei Riders!

Titled “Heisei Generations Forever Medley D.A. Re-Build Mix” this song arranges clips from each of the 20 Heisei Rider OP’s into one giant song, set to a variety of archival footage as well as new scenes from the soon to be released film itself.  This new theme was arranged by Daisuke Asakura.

Kamen Rider Heisei Generations Forever hits Japanese theaters on December 22nd! RIDER TIME!

Another figure was recently added to the Kamen Rider Zi-O line up of S.H.Figuarts figures. That figure is, of course, the trusty motorcycle for our time traveling duos: The S.H.Figuarts Ride Striker!

S.H.Figuarts Ride Striker will be released in June as 6480 yen as a P-Bandai online item. The bike does include the Zikan Zax and Zikan Grade weapons for Figuarts Geiz and Zi-O respectively, so now buying the Ride Striker seems to be the only way to acquire weapons for them.

LEVEL UP!

A new Kamen Rider Ex-Aid item has been announced for the SH Figuarts action figure series!

This is SH Figuarts Maximum Gamer LVL99- Kamen Rider Ex-Aid’s penultimate form- a powerful set of armor that also has the ability to purify the Bugster virus that plagues Ex-Aid’s opponents. The figure comes with its signature weapon- the Gashacon Key Slasher for added effects!

Currently, Maximum Gamer LVL99 is scheduled for release in May 2019! The price is a steep 9936 Yen before shipping and handling.

SPD Emergency!

Power Rangers S.P.D is widely regarded as one of the best ones out of the Disney Era of Power Rangers and it’s also one of the shows that’s always being expanded upon even after the show was ended. The official Power Rangers Twitter account dropped a surprise bombshell on us earlier today with a look at an all-new S.P.D B-Squad via a holiday greeting card that can now be purchased in stores with artwork courtesy of @shadowpiper via Twitter.  Do note that the image attached to this article may contain spoilers for Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon. So if you haven’t read it yet, please continue on at your own risk!

This new team of S.P.D Rangers consists of Bridge, Lina, J.J., Sky, Syd, and R.I.C 3.0 we’ll go over each character below:

In the Operation Over Drive episode Once a Ranger, Bridge mentioned that Sky was promoted to head of SPD Earth division while he received a promotion to Red Ranger. The armor Bridge wears is a reference to the Fire Squad armor donned by Akazan Ban Ban in the DekaRanger 10 Years After movie.

Speaking of DekaRanger, there have been many speculations as to what Sky’s version of the Shadow Ranger would look like and we now finally have our first answer in the form of the Deka Ranger.

Lina could possibly be referring to Lina Song, a character played by Malika Lim in the Power Rangers: HyperForce tabletop RPG. And finally, J.J. Oliver is the son of Tommy Oliver, we can’t go into him too much as doing so would spoil Soul of the Dragon for those that have yet to read it.

As of this writing, we aren’t certain if this image will lead into some sort of sequel or continuation for Power Rangers: S.P.D though with the current run of comics from Boom! Studios, anything is possible. In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned to Tokunation and we’ll immediately update you as more info becomes available.

Haruto Soma was the only survivor of a dark Solar Eclipse ritual which saw the creation of a legion of monsters known as Phantoms. Assuming the likeness and identities of those humans they emerged from, Phantom’s invade the world of humans and use magic to wreak havoc. Only one man can stop them, the one who faced despair head on in the light of the eclipse and emerged to gain the power of magic from his hope. Haruto Soma became Kamen Rider Wizard!

FINALLY, after languishing for 6 years with one of the worst S.H. Figuarts ever made, the Shinkocchou Seihou renewal line has finally tackled the rider of hope! Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Style is possibly one of the most stunning and astounding figuarts I’ve ever handled. A magnificent recreation of a dynamic suit design, this stylish figure is everything that Wizard fans have ever wanted. Interchangeable Wizard Rings, a multi-mode WizardSwordGun, and fully poseable Wizard Robes(!), make this one of the nicest Seihou releases to date. The S.H.Figuarts line’s been something of a fan favorite amongst collectors ever since the series first started. Many of us have been hoping that these figures will be easier to obtain domestically, and now it seems like collectors will finally have their chance. In a rather surprising turn of events, it seems that more S.H.Figuarts will be made available domestically for North American consumers at Gamestop of all places thanks to no part to our friends at BluFin. Among those are numerous Kamen Rider and Ultraman figures. Various listings appeared on Gamestop’s website the other night, as reported by various fans in the Toku community. The 20 Rider Kicks versions of the following Figuarts are up for pre-order as of this writing:

S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Build Tank Rabbit

  • S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Drive Type Speed
  • S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Blade
  • S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim Orange Arms

  • In addition to three Ultraman figures:
    S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Blu Aqua

A screen grab from Gamestop’s own computers via Twitter user @ShadowThePika can confirm that these figures exist within the system and each one of these Figuarts will retail for reasonable 49.99 each and expected to ship out in February. Of course, we have no way of telling if Gamestop plans on carrying more of these in the future and it seems unlikely that they’ll carry anything P-Bandai exclusive. Still, this opens the floodgates for Kamen Rider collectibles to potentially come stateside!

Gamestop exists outside of North America as EB Games, and while the two companies operate under the same umbrella it’s currently not known they’ll follow suit. Stay tuned, and we at Tokunation will provide you an update to this exciting development as it’s made available.

In a new feature for Tokunation, we’re teaming up with review blog My Shiny Toy Robots to feature and cross-promote the various tokusatsu series and film reviews featured on the site. In the first of what will hopefully be many posts, we’re discussing the finale to Kamen Rider Amazons story – Kamen Rider Amazons the Movie: The Last Judgement!

Released earlier this year in the place of the annual Super Hero Taisen spring movie, The Last Judgement chronicles the final showdown between Haruka Misuzawa (Kamen Rider Amazon Omega) and Jin Takayama (Kamen Rider Alpha Alpha) as Haruka stumbles upon a new scheme to use Amazons to solve the world’s growing food crisis.
