Power Rangers Beast Morphers On Display At Licensing Expo 2018!

Posted on May 22, 2018 at 12:47 pm by Paladin under Power Rangers

The annual Licensing Expo trade show is currently underway in Las Vegas, Nevada and Saban Brands has turned out for one last hurrah!

Centerpiece to the Saban display are the heroes of Power Rangers Beast Morphers! This setup features the Red, Blue and Yellow Beast Morpher suits along with some basic line art for the series’ Megazord (official name not yet confirmed at time of writing).

Perhaps the most interesting bit on display is artwork featuring the Beast Morphers’ supporting cast- the Beast Bots– who will assist this team of Power Rangers. Each Ranger will have their own Beast Bot partner- Red Jaguar, Blue Gorilla & Yellow Rabbit.

This should finally ease some fan concerns on adapting certain elements from Beast Morphers’ source material, Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters.

Currently, Power Rangers Beast Morphers is set to air on Nickelodeon in 2019 but no further details are available just yet. Stay tuned to TokuNation as we keep you up to date on this remarkable new Power Rangers series!

First Look At S.H.Figuarts Ultraman X And Release Info

Posted on May 22, 2018 at 11:59 am by Kiryu under Ultraman

Bandai teased that an S.H.Figuarts Ultraman X was finally coming our way. Not long after that teaser, we finally have our first look at this figure in the recent batch of magazine scans that are making the rounds online.

S.H.Figuarts Ultraman X is set to be released in October 2018 with a price tag of 7,560 yen. For those of you whom may be unfamiliar with the character: Ultraman X has the power to create weapons and armor based on monsters or past Ultramen, and it looks as though this gimmick will be well represented in the figure itself! S.H.Figuarts Ultraman X will include parts that will allow you to swap off into his Cyber Gomora armor form.

There doesn’t seem to be a P-Bandai banner on this page, so at the moment it appears that he will be a mass retail release. Only time will tell if Bandai plans on releasing the other armor forms in the future and in what capacity.

However this go around they appear to be repainted in far more accurate detail, calling back to the Premium Color repaints other Tamashii lines  (like Dragonball) have received over the years.

We don’t have information on the pricing of this set yet, but it will most certainly be available at the Bluefin Brands booth as with their other exclusives, the SOC Black Megazord & Helmetless MMPR Figuarts.

SDCC 2018 Soul Of Chogokin Black Megazord Revealed

Posted on May 21, 2018 at 4:01 am by Den-O under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con, Super Sentai

Surprise! No, this isn’t the recently teased SOC GX-81 release Tamashii Nations has been talking about on Twitter. This year’s con exclusive release is indeed a a Black repaint of the SOC GX-76 Megazord/Daizyujin

Taking a current from Transformers repaints of the same variety, rather than use the usual gold accents we see with Black Megazord & Daizyujin repaints, this one opts for teal accents. Nemesis Megazord am I right?

This release will be exclusively available at San Diego Comic Con 2018, at the Bluefin Brands booth.

Toho Reveal New Godzilla Shared Universe Plans

Posted on May 20, 2018 at 5:51 pm by ZeoRangerV under Godzilla

After Godzilla made its triumphant return in Japan in 2016, fans have been eagerly awaiting what’s next for the King of the Monsters. Thanks to an interview with Toho executive Keiji Ota in the magazine Nikkei Style , it’s been revealed that the studio’s plans are now to create a shared Godzilla universe akin to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a new film being released every 1-2 years. These plans are expected to move forwards after 2020.

However this announcement comes with some bad news for Shin Godzilla fans, as it confirms that any plans Toho may have had for a sequel are now defunct. In the interview Ota said that they are “instead of thinking of doing the obvious idea of making a Shin Godzilla 2, instead thinking about a world that can be used for a long time”.

This new release strategy bears obvious similarity to Legendary’s own “MonsterVerse” plans, which connects their own Godzilla film, Kong: Skull Island and the forthcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs King Kong movies. Of course its worth mentioning that even in Japan Godzilla is no stranger to a shared universe, with the Showa and Heisei eras showing particular continuity between its various films.

Are you excited for Toho’s future Godzilla plans? Let us know your thoughts after the jump!
