It’s that time of year once again for the comic & toy convention season to get under way! And getting the ball rolling on both fronts is the upcoming Lexington Comic & Toy Con, from March 13th-15th! What began in 2012 as a con that garnered over 1000 guests has flourished in the years since to it’s height now, attracting upwards of 20,000 guests from the around the midwest & southeast!

What’s even more impressive is how the guest list for this con has grown from featuring just a few of your favorite Power Rangers actors, to being one of the nations premiere selections of ranger actors! This year the convention staff have pulled out all the stops to offer the BIGGEST selection of Power Rangers, & Indeed Super Sentai actors, possible! Not to mention a few other fantastic bonuses for Ultraman fans! Check out the full guest list as it pertains to the tokusatsu fandom below, as maintained by our very own uchihabro77! 

Aside from this star studded guest list, LexCon is also an opportunity for fans to make real world connections. As I’ve done in years past I will of course be there repping for TokuNation.com & the Talkin Toku Podcast. Our journey with Kamen Rider Den-O ended last week and it’s time to finalize the community choice for our next segment. As we announced a few weeks ago the poll to decide the next Let’s Watch Wednesdays exclusively features 5 Power Rangers seasons as choices!

Voting has been pretty intense so far and our two front runners are currently tied. Voting to decide our next segment will remain open through Friday October 31st (Happy Halloween!) at 11:59 PM. At that time the show with the most votes will be our new segment set to begin next Wednesday November 5th.

It’s time for Let’s Watch Wednesdays to select it’s next segment! Our current viewing of Kamen Rider Den-O will be all over in just a few weeks which means it’ll be time to serve up something new to the community.

This time however we’ve gone back through our old polls and nomination threads for LWW and put together an all-stars list. Not just any list either, but 5 Power Rangers series! The 5 Power Rangers series the community has voted for or nominated the most in the past are all featured in this poll! For many of us Power Rangers was our introduction to the entire tokusatsu genre, so it’s time to celebrate that influence by checking out one of these past seasons!

On this day, August 28th 1993, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers made their incredible debut on US airwaves! And 21 years later, the franchise is still a booming success story with no stop in sight. Though the Power Rangers have gone through numerous iterations, transitions, actors, rangers, zords, enemies, movies, seasons, ups, downs, and everything else in between, it stands out as one of the most recognizable and marketable brands out there. With consistently strong toy sales, TV ratings, and a growing fan base of both old and brand new fans, is it any wonder Power Rangers has become the international success it is today?

Take some time out of your day today to celebrate Power Rangers coming of age for it’s 21st birthday. Share with us some of your favorite moments from the franchise. Perhaps a favorite battle, a specific character you love, maybe even just a great costume design or piece of music. Anything goes for this discussion! It’s been a very long time coming but in 2015 UK Power Rangers fans will be spoilt for choice with the official announcement of a SECOND Power Rangers convention.

Previously revealed during the London Film & Comic Con last  month, Mighty Morphin Power Con will take place on Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd February at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

For those fans who live on the east coast and cannot make it to Power Morphicon this year due to cost, timing, etc., great news! The east coast’s largest gathering of Power Rangers continues on thanks to the folks of RangerStop.com! This show is located in Orlando, Florida and will be held the weekend of November 7th thru the 9th at the Holiday Inn & Suites at Universal Orlando!

It’s Monday – time for another Official Power Morphicon update!

One of the all-time fan-favorite Power Rangers is returning to Power Morphicon this year. Power Morphicon announced today that Dan Southworth, who played Eric Myers the Quantum Ranger from Power Rangers Time Force, will be in attendance at the show this year. He joins a guest list that contains practically 90 special guests from the Power Rangers, VR Troopers, Big Bad Beetleborgs, and Kamen Rider Dragon Knight franchises.

It was also announced by individuals on Twitter involved with the operations of Power Morphicon that registration for the show will end in July – so now you have a time frame of when you need to register! But you’ve already registered, right? If not – click here to start your registration process!

TokuNation.com and the Talkin Toku Podcast will be in attendance at this year’s Power Morphicon as “Platinum Members”, meaning we will have front row seats and first access to bring you coverage of the show!
