S.H. Figuarts Kikaider 01 Gallery

Posted on June 29, 2015 at 10:27 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News

Change! Kikaider 01!

We’re back, with yet another figure from a toku classic! We’ve slowly been working our way through S.H. Figuarts released from the Kikaider franchise, and today we’re taking a look at yet another. Kikaider 01’s titular hero, S.H. Figuarts Kikaider 01!

Kikaider 01, Ichiro, is the older brother of the original Kikaider Jiro. Dr. Komyoji’s original prototype, 01 is a bit more emotional as his conscience circuit was actually completed. He’s also unique in that he was solar powered. The figuart sets itself apart from the first Kikaider by actually being a well made toy. Seriously, Kikaider 01 is a vast improvement over Kikaider with some solid articulation & much better QC. Overall it’s just a much better release and shows that Bandai finally found their footing with this subline.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but check out a full 40 image gallery as well as a complete review after the jump! And check in with us next time as we take a look at another classic from the Kikaider franchise with Kikaider 01’s nemesis, S.H. Figuarts Gill Hakaider!

S.H. Figuarts Ride Chaser & Midnight Shadow Effect Parts Gallery

Posted on June 22, 2015 at 10:38 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

The grim reaper, Mashin Chaser, is a force to be reckoned with in the world of Kamen Rider Drive. But even an evil mechanized life form needs a sweet ride. So today we’re taking a look at his vehicle of choice, the S.H. Figuarts Ride Chaser!

The Ride Chaser was the machine Chase used in his original Proto-Drive Identity and what he continues to use to this day even as the heroic Kamen Rider Chaser. A pretty slick and evil looking bike the Ride Chaser is a bit larger than many figuarts bikes and a bit more of a laid back ride in the same vein as the much older Machine Decader. Lite on the accessories but magnificent looking the Ride Chaser will be right at home with the rest of your Drive collection.

Check out over 30 images of the Ride Chaser & Midnight Shadow Effect Parts by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. I’ll be back soon with galleries of Kamen Rider Mach & the Ride Macher!

S.H. Figuarts Hakaider’s White Crow Gallery

Posted on June 18, 2015 at 11:39 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News

“I will take your life.”

The evil Hakaider is one of the most memorable villains in tokusatsu history. A villainous foil in one form or another to every version of Kikaider ever, Hakaider simply wouldn’t be complete with out an awesome ride at his disposal. So today we’re taking a look back at a recent Tamashii Web Exclusive release with the S.H. Figuarts White Crow!

As Hakaider’s personal machine, White Crow is emblazoned with his emblem. However the rest of the bike is very much like the vehicle it’s based on, a 1972 Kawasaki H1 Mach III. But that doesn’t diminish just how gorgeous it looks in silver paint, or how awesome Hakaider looks while riding. As with the previous Kikaider vehicle release in this line, Side Machine, the White Crow include licensed decals, in this case a set of fully licensed Kawsaki labels!

Check out a full gallery & review of S.H. Figuarts White Crow after the jump. And check back in for our next exciting kikaider themed gallery with S.H. Figuarts Kikaider 01!

S.H. Figuarts Mashin Chaser & Midnight Shadow Bonus Gallery

Posted on June 11, 2015 at 1:48 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Brake, Up.

And you thought Kamen Rider Drive Type Speed Gallery was cool? Now it’s time for something a little more wicked! The grim reaper himself, the Roidmude hitman, the fallen hero, S.H. Figuarts Mashin Chaser! And as a 2-for-1 this gallery also includes the Midnight Shadow Tire 1st Run Bonus!

S.H. Figuarts Mashin Chaser, once the heroic rider Proto-Drive, is presented here in absolutely glorious chaotic detail. Chaser includes 3 sets of additional heads as well as his trademark Brake Gunner, which can accept Shift Cars! Sadly Chaser isn’t compatible with Drive’s Tires as he is now. But I’ve worked out a temporary fix for that with some spare stage parts, which you can view in this gallery!

The Midnight Shadow 1st Run Bonuses included give you the Tire, Mr Belt Readout, and flipped shift car needed to replicate Drive’s Midnight Shadow combo as well!

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but the full 80 images as well as a comprehensive review are posted in the gallery thread attached. Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see it in it’s entirety! We’ll back next week with the S.H. FIguarts Rider Chaser & Effect Part Bonus gallery!

Power Rangers Imaginext Goldar & Rita Repulsa Gallery

Posted on June 5, 2015 at 3:14 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers

“Excellency, surely you remember me? Goldar, your faithful servant.”

Well we certainly do! And it would seem that Mattel does as well! The inaugural releases in the company’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Imaginext line have begun to hit retail in recent weeks and we’ve gotten our hands on one such set for gallery & review. Imaginext Goldar & Rita Repulsa!

This set takes the mighty Sorceress Rita Repulsa and shrinks her down while taking her most famous general and making that monster grow! Goldar is a simplistic but large and imposing toy. Featuring the pattented Imaginext Power Pad gimmick, Goldar can unleash his mighty wings or swing his sword! While Rita can mount behind Goldar’s head with her Magical Staff.

While aimed at children (ages 3-8) this set will undoubtedly appeal to adult collectors and fans of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for it’s big play value. We’ve attached a selection of images to the front page but you can check out over 50 images of Imaginext Goldar & Rita Repulsa by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post!

Dino Charge Plesio Zord & Team Power Up Reveal, Production Images!

Posted on June 4, 2015 at 11:12 am by Den-O under Power Rangers

It’s time for some long over due news from Power Rangers Dino Charge! Thanks in no small part to the efforts of the wonderful @nightmere10 on twitter and her Power Scoop Blog, we officially have our first look at the cockpit of the Plesio Zord, as well as the rangers team power up!

This power up, previously seen in toy form during our Toy Fair 2015 coverage, is most likely the “Supercharge” referenced in the Dino Supercharge title, though the toys seem to refer to it as Dino Drive Mode. It’s refreshing to see Power Rangers tackle an original team power up once more!

Nightmere10 was also able to uncover a massive treasure trove of production/concept art & images from this series by Tracey Collins of Perception Projections for Power Rangers Dino Charge! It’s interesting stuff for sure, including some early looks at Sledge and his ship!
