Celebrate Titanium Ranger Day 2015

Posted on October 28, 2015 at 12:23 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers

That time of year has rolled around once more! It’s the third annual Titanium Ranger Day! October 28th 2013 started it all when our colleagues at Rangercrew got together with Bandai Cards to help promote the Titanium Ranger with the official reveal of his Power Rangers ACG Card and a live chat with his actor Rhett Fisher!

What began as a simple day of appreciation for the character has grown to be much more than that. Not only did Titanium Ranger make his way into the ACG that year, but he was 1 of the final 5 rangers selected in Morphin Madness,  became part of the exclusive Power Morphicon 2014 Ranger Key Pack, had a 5″ Super Megaforce Legendary Ranger figure, AND made it into the finale of Power Ranger Super Megaforce!

As the first ranger ever to be solely featured in Power Rangers (Lightspeed Rescue) with no sentai counterpart for his basis, Titanium Ranger is one of the most unique creations in the entire Power Rangers franchise. Appreciation for the Titanium Ranger & Rhett Fisher himself has been on the rise for years. It’s no coincidence that the last few years have been very kind to the character. We here at TokuNation are proud to celebrate another Titanium Ranger Day!

Feel free to click “discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to join our Titanium Ranger Day discussion thread. And while you’re at it follow the handy links below to check out a hefty selection of Titanium Ranger photo galleries we’ve posted previously:

Power Rangers Dino Charge Legendary Zord Set Revealed!

Posted on September 21, 2015 at 9:42 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers

Originally discovered within Toys R Us computer systems way back in February, we finally have a real look at the upcoming Power Rangers Dino Charge Legendary Zord Set! Thanks to a seller on Taobao we’ve got out first official packaged images of this set.

As speculated and now confirmed the Legendary Zord Set indeed consists of reissues of the Zord Vehicle Rangers from the Mighty Morphin 2010 relaunch toy line! Originally these items were thought to be Legacy items but it looks rather like they’re going to be Toys R Us exclusives instead in Dino Charge packaging. As is this 4-pack consists of the Mighty Morphin Red, Blue, Black, & Green rangers with their respective vehicles (T-Rex, Triceratops, Mammoth, & Sabretooth Tiger).

According to the original information circulated in February this set should retail for $79.99. With packaged samples turning up on Taobao that means we should be seeing a release of this set in stores by years end at the latest. Keep an eye out and when or if you see it stores, sound off in our toys sightings forum!

SDCC 2015: TokuNation Interviews Bandai of America

Posted on July 12, 2015 at 11:48 pm by Den-O under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

Rounding out our coverage of San Diego Comic Con 2015 we have a couple gems to share with you. Our own Kickback just sat down with Bandai of America for an interview on current & upcoming products and a few other goodies fans have been clamoring for with Power Rangers Legacy & Dino Charge.

Starting things off we discussed Power Rangers Legacy items. These releases were apparently never meant to be chronological like collectors had assumed, it happened to just turn out that way. Bandai knows that the Ninja & Shogun Megazords as well as the Falconzord are all very obvious choices for the future. Power Rangers Zeo is also internally very popular. They also think a Legacy Gold Zeo Ranger Staff is a interesting idea ;) Legacy Tor was mentioned as well but as a whole they don’t want to destroy collectors’ wallets.

The Thunder Megazord shown at SDCC should be able to assumed the Assault Team sled mode, but they’ll get with their designers and give us an answer post-con. The Legacy Blade Blaster displayed was entirely a mock-up as the retail version wasn’t ready yet. They would like to do a role play item and a mech/figure item together if possible kinda like Saba and Tigerzord. Again they don’t want to break the bank. Fans have also asked recently about a Black & Gold Dragonzord, so we posed that question to Bandai. There response is “would fans buy it?”

For Dino Charge Bandai still asserts that if a Ranger appears in show, of which there’s likely to be 11 between DC & Supercharge, then there’s a very good chance to see it in toy form.  When asked about any possible gender swaps or sash swaps in the show, they referred back to the first answer. Bandai is also taking this position with Megazords, if it appears in the show footage it’s very likely to receive a toy. Villain figures are a key point of interest to Bandai as well since this is the first time since MMPR that waves are predominantly villains. Poisandra however is still cloudy. While Bandai is looking into it, it depends entirely on the characters trajectory in the show. They simply don’t know currently. The same can be said for why no Supercharge items were displayed – if it hasn’t been revealed in the show then they can’t necessarily show it in toy form without approval from Saban Brands.

Fans of Ranger Keys from Super Megaforce will also be sobered a bit.  Currently no plans for more Ranger Keys as the play pattern is no longer current.  Speaking of exclusives Bandai confirmed that they are upping their game for New York Comic Con to match the cons size. They will have an exclusive of some kind for this years show.

Bandai of America takes the fan opinion very seriously. They also want to cater to collectors and use the Legacy line as well as conventions to try and do that. They encourage fans to let them know what they think at conventions and such.

We’d like to thank Bandai of America for their time over the weekend for answering our questions and being awesome in general. The team is super excited for the future and can’t wait to show you what’s in store next. They hope you’ll come see them at this year’s NYCC.

Power Rangers Turbo Quick Draw Action Blue Senturion Gallery

Posted on May 17, 2015 at 1:55 am by Den-O under Power Rangers

Did you notice what today is? It may not seem immediately significant but today is actually the 18th anniversary of the 1st appearance of the Blue Senturion in Power Rangers Turbo! Appearing in the episode “The Millennium Message” at first the Blue Senturion was adversarial to the rangers but went on to fill the role of an extra hero for the team. It’s an oddball anniversary but with the Turbo theatrical movie having celebrated it’s 18th earlier this year, we’ve decided to present a special gallery of the Quick Draw Action Blue Senturion figure to coincide!

The Quick Draw Action Blue Senturion is actually a pretty cool figure. Not only does it feature an interesting gimmick or two in the form of a Quick Draw hand and signal changing, and along with a decent number of accessories for it’s era, it’s one of a very very small number of figures even produced for the Blue Senturion or in fact his Japanese originator Signalman! Neither of these characters has ever really gotten their proper due in collectible figure form but the 6″ Quick Draw figure can fit the bill for either of them!

We’ve assembled a full 40 image gallery of this figure for your viewing after the jump. Trust me, Blue Senturion will be right at home with your 6″ figure collection. While he may have some bulk to him, there’s still a bit of charm there for both Power Rangers and Sentai collectors alike!

Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie White Ranger Gallery

Posted on April 26, 2015 at 10:08 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

The power is on for the final time at TokuNation!

We’ve taken a look at 6 figures so far in Bandai of America’s Power Rangers 5″ Legacy Line for the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie, and today we wrap up our coverage of this line with the 7th and final figure! Rounding out the 6 movie rangers is the Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie White Ranger!

As with our previously reviewed Movie Rangers this figure marks the first time ever that the Movie White Ranger has been portrayed properly in toy form. Oddly enough, though this figure comes with fewer accessories than all the others, it somehow winds up being the best executed of the set. The Movie White Ranger may not come with much but he does come with his one and only weapon, the trusty talking tiger saber, Saba! We break down the ins and outs of this figure, both positive & negative, in the review after the jump.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but the full gallery thread contains over 40 images! We’ve tried to fully showcase this figure and in fact the entire Legacy Movie lineup with this gallery. In the coming months TokuNation will return with more movie themed galleries as we prep for the 20th anniversary of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie! To catch up on our full coverage of this line just follow the links below!

Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie 5 Inch Yellow Ranger Gallery

Posted on April 21, 2015 at 11:25 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers

The power is on once again as TokuNation showcases another in it’s ongoing series of toy galleries focusing on the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie! We’ve taken a look at 5 figures so far in Bandai of America’s Power Rangers 5″ Legacy Line for the film and today we’re taking a look at the last of the 5 core rangers, the Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Yellow Ranger!

As with our previously reviewed Movie Rangers this figure marks the first time ever that the Movie Yellow Ranger has been portrayed properly in toy form. While nicely detailed the articulation is a mixed bag though the accessories partially make up for this. The Legacy Movie Yellow Ranger specifically comes with her Power Blaster sidearm as well as a holster for it. In addition to this is the movie exclusive Power Beam helmet! Allowing Aisha to shine bright head lamps from the Sabretooth Tiger’s eyes the toy replicates the look of this alternate helmet, without the lights of course. We break down the ins and outs of this figure, both positive & negative, in the review after the jump.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but the full gallery thread contains over 50 images of this highly anticipated new figure.  Be sure to check out the images & full review, with more than a few fun bonuses included. We return later this week with the FINAL gallery in this series, the Legacy Movie White Ranger!
