S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Deep Specter Revealed

Posted on August 11, 2016 at 12:43 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Funny how coincidences work out sometimes right? Just yesterday we posted our gallery of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Specter, and less than 24 hours later we have our first look at S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Deep Specter!

These images come courtesy of a number of twitter users taking photos at the Tamashii Nations Akihabara showroom. Deep Specter looks like a very slick release that includes at least his personal Deep Slasher weapon. It’s very likely this release will include 2 Eyecons for use with it much like S.H. Figuarts Toucon Boost. For now we don’t have confirmation on release details but we can likely expect Deep Specter to be a Tamashii Web Exclusive.

We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Specter Gallery

Posted on August 9, 2016 at 10:21 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Ready, Go! Kakugo! Doki Doki Ghost!

We’re back with our second entry in our continuing look at Kamen Rider Ghost. This time we examine the recently released S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Specter!

Specter is of course the same mold as S.H. Figuarts Ghost Ore Damashii. As such, if you’ve handled that mold, then by now you know the ins and outs of the positives & negatives of this figure too. Specter doesn’t seek to improve on the flaws of this base design which is a shame, but he does manage to convey a lot of personality and look stylish while doing it. Specter includes his Gan Gun Hand weapon which can convert to both Rod & Gun Modes, several pairs of hands, and alternate hoodie accessory, and a 1st run bonus of 5 Eyecons!

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but please enjoy over 60 images of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Specter after the jump by clicking “Discuss on The TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post!

Tokkei Winspector: S.H. Figuarts Bikel Gallery

Posted on August 5, 2016 at 3:00 pm by Den-O under Metal Heroes

Mayday mayday SOS!

And we’re back to kick off a new month of toy galleries with another classic character from 1990’s Tokkei Winspector! Earlier this year we took a look at the team leader of Winspector with S.H. Figuarts Fire. Today we get to examine one of Fires’ two robotic partners, S.H. Figuarts Bikel!

Bikel builds on the already solid design and accessory count of Fire, and gives us just a little bit more. Managing to have a ton of personality, Bikel is one of the more interesting robots you could have in your collection. His wild & rambunctious attitude in the show is conveyed perfectly in this excellent figure. Bikel includes his Daytric M2 Sidearm, his signature Bispears in multiple forms, 4 sets of hands, and even a tiny to scale figure of Demitasse, the Winspector’s tiny robotic ally!

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but you can click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to view the entire 70+ image gallery! We’ll be back next week with another ghostly addition to our galleries as well!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Chaser Mach Gallery

Posted on July 30, 2016 at 12:48 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

“You used me, you brought shame on my sister, you used Krim’s inventions for Evil! But, worse than any of that, you…..
you killed my friend!!“

The rage and conviction of Machs’ loss is embodied in this final last ditch form used to defeat his father, Gold Drive. Though a last minute addition to the series, Kamen Rider Chaser Mach manages to debut in one of the most heartbreaking and powerful scenes in Kamen Rider Drive.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Chaser Mach is pretty much like it’s show counterpart. A combination of various parts from the two figures that preceded it, Chaser & Mach. But surprisingly it doesn’t feel tired or boring even if I’ve technicality handled this figure several times before. Chaser Mach seamlessly integrates the components of these two riders into one fantastic form that feels just right. Throw in a cople signature weapons like the Zenrin Shooter & Signal Ax and you’ve one pretty darn solid release. Now if only S.H. Figuarts Gold Drive were out already, this gallery needs a deadbeat dad….

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but please enjoy 75 images after the jump by clicking “discuss on the TokuNation forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back soon with several more galleries!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider J Revealed!

Posted on July 11, 2016 at 1:42 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, Other Conventions

Long hoped for by collectors it seems we may be one step closer to finally having S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider J! J, is currently on display at Chara Expo 2016 in Singapore. An unexpected reveal for sure, we currently don’t have estimates on release date or pricing for J. For all we know he could disappear in to the vault of unreleased prototypes, but let’s hope not.

You may recall Kamen Rider J as the last of the trilogy of 90’s rider movies including Shin & ZO. Created after the official Showa period ended these three riders are still classified with their earlier predecessors rather than the Heisei segment of the franchise. If J is indeed released then that means the Showa era of Kamen Rider will officially be complete in figure form. All 15 main Showa riders will at least adorn your shelves together.

So what do you think about this reveal? Will it finally fill that longstanding hole in your collection? And as is often the question, where is Kiva, the long missing Heisei Rider? Sound off in the comments!

S.H. Figuarts Body-Kun Gray DX Set Gallery

Posted on July 7, 2016 at 3:07 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News

You’ve seen them throughout the years at various Tamashii Nations events and wondered “when can I buy those?!” No it’s not the long lost prototypes of the SWAT Dekarangers or Rio & Mele. But the Blank figures we’ve all come to know. Used to showcase new body & articulation sculpts as well as Tamashii Effects we all wondered if these unique figures would ever be released. Now, they have. So today we’re taking an extensive look at S.H. Figuarts Body-Kun (Gray) DX Set!

Body-Kun is a wonderfully generic figure. The basis for any custom you desire, the subject of any photograph you can imagine, and the ultimate piece of reference for an artist. Body-Kun & the simultaneously released Body-Chan are perhaps the most uninhibited and fun figuarts I’ve ever handled. Loaded down with a plethora of accessories including a multitude of hands, weapons, and every day devices, this seemingly lifeless faceless figure manages to express more in body language alone than most other figuarts ever can.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but you can view the full 60+ image gallery by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. I had a lot of fun shootinhg this gallery, more than I ever anticipated. So I hope you enjoy it.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Ghost Ore Damashii Gallery

Posted on July 4, 2016 at 9:25 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

“My life’s gonna burn bright!”

The hero that transcends death has arrived in a brand new gallery! S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Ghost Ore Damashii is the first entry in Tamashiii Nations’ latest Kamen Rider subline. As such he’s got to set a new bar for what we can expect with the next year or so of related releases. So how is it? Well to be honest Ghost Ore Damashii has gotten a bad rap. Some cases of bad QC coupled with some exaggerations about poor articulation made this an unpopular release.

However Ghost is actually a really faithful release, a nearly spot on representation of the show suit. And yes while there are some minor issues with articulation, he manages to carry a ton of personality in his sculpt. Ghost also comes with his trademark Gan Gun Saber (which can transform to a degree), an alternate hoodie to put over his head, and a 1st run bonus in the form of a to scale Yurusen figure! Honestly as much as I wanted to hate this figure, I found a lot to like about it.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but you can view the full 60 images of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Ghost Ore Damashii by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post!

S.H. Figuarts Kabuto Extender Gallery

Posted on July 2, 2016 at 10:07 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

After a 2 month hiatus thanks to technical issues I’m back with a new gallery to kick off July! With new camera in hand and a backlog of recent releases to photograph I’m ready to start livening up our gallery section again so I hope you enjoy the ride as well! It’s going to be a learning experience for both of us as I introduce you to new figures, and I explore my new camera in depth. But for now, today’s subject is the recently released S.H. Figuarts Kabuto Extender!

A great companion piece to S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Kabuto, which was released in 2014. This vehicles’ release comes quite a while after that but coincided with a reissue of Kabuto. And as far as Rider Machines go, Kabuto Extender is a fairly bare bones release but one that compliments the Kabuto already present in your collection very nicely. You won’t find much new to talk about with this release, but if you’re a fan of the Kabuto series or character, you’ll love it.

Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see over 30 images of this fantastic addition to the line. Several more figuarts galleries are on their way after this as well, this is only the tip of the iceberg!
