Toy Tuesdays: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Black & Battle Hopper Renewal Gallery

Posted on July 15, 2014 at 8:43 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

It’s time once again for a Toy Tuesdays Gallery at TokuNation! This time we’re taking a look at a blast form the past, renewed for today. It’s S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Black Renewal & S.H. Figuarts Battle Hopper Renewal!

One of the most popular Showa era riders is undeniably Kamen Rider Black. Heralded as one of the best rider shows out there is it any wonder Bandai finally decided to give collectors a better alternative to owning Black? The original S.H. Figuarts releases of both Black & Battle Hopper, while fine for their time, have been outshined since by far far better figures. So to rectify this situation Bandai released a new Black & Battle Hoppper as the first in a line of Kamen Rider Renewals!

The short of it is that these two figures are fantastically better than their original counterparts, but to find out why you should check out our full review and gallery after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to the full gallery and review thread.

We’ll be taking a week off from Toy Tuesdays next week as TokuNations begins it’s full coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2014. So be sure to follow us @TokuNation on Twitter, @TokuNation on Instagram, ”Like” us on Facebook, and for easy-to-navigate coverage, click here to see ONLY our San Diego Comic Con 2014 coverage. And be sure to follow our coverage team “Kickback” @rankal on Twitter, “Den-O” @DenO_TokuNation on Twitter, and our good buddy “Deefuzz” @Deefuzz on Twitter.

This segment will be back in two weeks with a very special gallery of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Black RX Renewal & Acrobatter Renewal!

News from Tamashii Nations Panel at Anime Expo 2014 – FiguartsZERO Lord Zedd

Posted on July 7, 2014 at 1:45 am by Chris under Conventions, Other Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

They teased. They toyed with our emotions. For a couple of years now, Bluefin Tamashii Nations have teased us that they could do a Lord Zedd figure, either as a S.H. Figuarts or a FiguartsZERO. After teasing us that they could, they teased that they had something they were working on. But then time passed by. Over a year after teasing that something was in the works, at Anime Expo this past weekend, they finally delivered on their tease. During a panel regarding current and upcoming projects, a blurry image of Lord Zedd with his iconic throne was shown with the tag FiguartsZERO.

It would appear that all that waiting has finally paid off. After showing the blurry image, they later announced on their Facebook page that everything shown at the panel would most likely be shown in person at this year’s upcoming San Diego Comic Con. Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered there (our full coverage begins Tuesday, July 22nd … or basically just about 2 weeks away). Here’s a run down on the news from the panel that pertains to Power Rangers!

  • FiguartsZERO Lord Zedd – more details to come, could be shown at SDCC 2014
  • S.H. Figuarts of other Power Rangers teams – they stated that Bandai doesn’t think there’s currently a series that has an overwhelming demand.  They want to see an overwhelming demand for a series before they could begin working on it.  They’ve asked that we please spam their Facebook page with requests for one of three series – Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers In Space, or Power Rangers Time Force.  Doing so will show Bandai that there’s an overwhelming demand and they can move forward.

This is apparently the year of Lord Zedd!  First he gets a Legacy figure, and now he is apparently getting a FiguartsZERO as well. So let’s talk about it #RangerNation! Is a FiguartsZERO Lord Zedd a must-buy for you? Is it a wait and see? Join in the discussion! Don’t forget to keep your browsers tuned right here for our coverage of this year’s San Diego Comic Con – pictures, videos, interviews, and so much more!

Toy Tuesdays: S.H. Figuarts Sakura Hurricane Gallery

Posted on July 2, 2014 at 12:00 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Kamen Rider Gaim toys just continue to flood the market! And today is no different, in this weeks installment of Toy Tuesdays @ TokuNation we’re bringing you a gallery of another of these recent releases in the form of S.H. Figuarts Sakura Hurricane!

Sakura Hurricane is of course the sweet sweet trans-dimensional hopping bike of our titular hero. Previously a “DX” lock seed style Lock Vehicle of this bike had been released by Bandai of Japan as a part of the Gaim main line of toys. But now collector’s finally have this wonderful addition for their collections. Though it doesn’t feature the spiffy transformation gimmick of the Lock Vehicles line, it does have a fantastic sculpt and a premium paint job. Though commonly for an SHF vehicle it’s lacking in the accessories department.

Read on by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see the entire review and gallery of this wonderful piece. And be sure to check back next Tuesday when we bring you the first in a pair of themed gallery from the Showa Era of Kamen Rider. Next weeks it’s a doubled up gallery of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Black & Battle Hopper!

S.H.Figuarts Armored Black Ranger SDCC Exclusive Revealed!

Posted on June 22, 2014 at 4:21 pm by Kiryu under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

Bluefin reveals their 2nd exclusive offering for SDCC this year via facebook. As hinted at by company representatives from NYCC last year, it’s the S.H.Figuarts Armored Black Ranger from the MMPR exclusive episode an “Oyster Stew”.

The footage used for this episode is part of the “Zyu2” run of episodes. Saban had licensed Toei to film new material with new monsters to be used exclusively in Power Rangers episodes because Saban had already cycled through the available material. This powered up form appears once and only in Power Rangers despite being from Japanese footage. Currently there’s no word on pricing.

Ahead of their usual announcements for the coming months, Bandai Tamashii Nations have revealed an S.H. Figuarts New Cyclone motorcycle as a mass release for October! Better still is the further reveal that it will be released in two forms – both as a separate release and in a 2-pack with the previously released Kamen Rider 1 (New Version). The single pack release also features alternate colouring from the 2-pack version, offering buyers two alternatives for their classic Kamen Riders!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Baron Banana Arms Gallery

Posted on June 18, 2014 at 9:44 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Come on, Banana Arms!

The second release from Kamen Rider Gaim in the S.H. Figuarts line is here! S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Baron Banana Arms!

As a follow up/simultaneous release with S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim, Baron is the perfect compliment to the orange samurai. As with Gaim there’s no Arms Change ability here, but there are gorgeous paint apps and a wealth of accessories to help mitigate that. Kamen Rider Baron includes a variety of extra hands, a closed Banana Lock Seed, as well as both forms of his trademark weapon the Banaspear! The founder of Team Baron has never looked better! Even on the DX Lock Vehicle Rose Attacker Kaitou looks the part of a warrior seeking power.

Please check out our full 50+ image gallery after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. And in just over a week or so we’ll be back with a gallery of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zangetsu!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim Orange Arms & Bonus Stage Gallery

Posted on June 13, 2014 at 11:25 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Lock on!

After months of vinyls, Arms Action, & Arms Change figures Kamen Rider Gaim has finally made it’s way to the collector line releases from Bandai of Japan. Recently released is the long awaited S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim!

This gorgeous figure represents Gaim’s basic form using his Orange Arms. And although the S.H. Figuarts line doesn’t allow for the Arms Change gimmick seen in the mass retail line, this is an absolutely drop dead gorgeous high end release that seriously makes up for that loss of gimmick. Gaim as a stand alone figure is brilliant, but he also includes his trademark Musou Saber, the orange themed Daidaimaru, 4 extra sets of hands, and a closed Orange Lock Seed. This guy seriously comes packed with it all!

To top off this gallery we’ve also included images of the Bonus first run display base set include with S.H. Figuarts Gaim & Baron pre-orders. This gorgeous set piece accents what are already magnificent figures. If you missed out on it I highly recommend finding it before prices go up.

Please check out our full 80 image gallery of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim after the jump. We’ll be coming back later this weekend with the second gallery in our series of SHF Gaim releases, this time with the Knight of Spear, S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Baron!

More Toku Images from Tokyo Toy Show 2014

Posted on June 13, 2014 at 6:50 pm by Den-O under Conventions, Kamen Rider, Other Conventions, Super Sentai, Ultraman

And you thought Bandai had spoiled all the good surprises with the DX/Chogokin ToQoh reveal. Fear not because the imaginary trains of justice, fruit warriors of Helheim, and new Ultras are on full display this weekend. Right now some great first had looks can be had of:

  • DX Build Resshas/Build Dai Oh, as well the combined formed of Build, ToQ, & Diesel Oh; Cho Cho ToQ Dai Oh
  • DX Safari Ga Oh/Galaxy Line Resshas
  • DX/Chogokin ToQ Oh (with new elbow joint adapters as well). Also seen are a couple of amazing scaled display environments including a rail way station with the DX Resshas interacting.
  • S.H. Figuarts Gaim, Baron, Zangetsu, Jinba Gaim, & Kachidoki Gaim
  • Gaim Arms Change Kiwami Arms, Knuckle, Sigurd & marika, Kamuro & Mar. As well as a GORGEOUS custom made for the show environment featuring various AC riders fighting in a Yggdrasil facility as well as in the forest of Helheim.

  • And last but not least is the reveal of the ENTIRE Ultraman Ginga S toyline! Famously this line will feature a new gimmick very similar to Arms Change, only in a very literal sense. The new character Ultraman Victory will be able to scan Kaiju Spark Dolls to use their arms in battle!

Be sure to check out over 50 images of the various displays Bandai has at the show, and stay tuned to TokuNation for further updates!
