S.H. Figuarts Armed Tyranno Ranger Gallery

Posted on February 22, 2014 at 12:27 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

It’s time for another trip down memory lane with the original dionsaur sentai. From Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger it’s S.H. Figuarts Armed Tyranno Ranger! This recent Tamashii Web Exclusive release is better known to western fans as the Mighty Morphin Armored Red Ranger, it was released in North American markets by Bluefin in Power Rangers 20th Anniversary packaging.

This figure represents Geki, Tyranno Ranger, after the death of Burai/Dragon Ranger. He inherited the Dragon Ranger powers from his brother and with them control over the mighty Dragon Caesar! This event was interpreted in the US MMPR adaptation as the Green Ranger powers being weakened and requiring a temporary host in the Red Ranger. The real world explanation for this is the above Zyuranger scenario, at the time no more footage was available of the Green Ranger. In the source footage he was literally dead. It wasn’t until the “Zyu2” footage was created by Toei that the Green Ranger could return on temporary occasions.

Overall this figure takes the best elements of both Tyranno & Dragon Rangers and crafts one excellent toy with them. If you have either of the other 2 figures you may feel this one is superfluous. Trust us, it isn’t. It’s another excellent addition to any Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers collection and will complement your other figures well. S.H. Figuarts Auto Vaijin Transformation Video

Posted on February 21, 2014 at 11:08 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Battle Mode!

At long last Bandai is set to release the highly anticipated S.H. Figuarts Auto Vaijin from Kamen Rider Faiz!

As a tease of it’s upcoming release they’ve streamed a FULL transformation video of the figure. The best part however is that the video confirms two things. 1, the included Faiz in the Faiz/Vaijin 2-pack will indeed have accurate silver tipped fingers. 2, this Auto Vaijin is not only 100% transformable but it requires a mere single extra part to facilitate this transformation, and that’s only to hold the rear wheel assembly in place! Everything else is pure engineered awesomeness.

Bandai Officially Announces Merger of S.H. Figuarts & D-Arts Lines

Posted on February 6, 2014 at 9:44 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News, Kamen Rider, Metal Heroes, Power Rangers

It’s time to end the speculation folks. This news comes courtesy of our sister site ToyArk. Bandai Tamashii Nations has announced that their S.H. Figuarts and D-Arts lines will be merged together. D-Arts as a sub line is now over.

Beginning in April 2014, figures that would have fallen under the D-Arts banner will now be released under the S.H. Figuarts line. A couple of confusing examples of this change over have been reported recently. Non-Toku figures such as Mario, Imperialdramon Fighter Mode, and Lucario were all originally intended for the D-Arts line. However with the discontinuation of that line these figures have been solicited as S.H. Figuarts as will all future releases that would have been in that line.

For anyone who wants to join in on the discussion of S.H. Figuarts (toku or non) hit up our two main discussion threads on the topic. The non-toku S.H. Figuarts thread in General Discussion will also retroactively encompass the D-Arts line from this point on.
