S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider W Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 21, 2016 at 10:28 am by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Now, count up your sins.”

A hotly anticipated release joins the line up for Toku Toy Box! In 2009 any first time fans made their way into Kamen Rider thorough Kamen Rider W, and as collector’s they’ve had to make due with the flawed offerings Bandai had produced up til now, but no more. S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider W is finally here and blowing every previous release away!

Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider W is in every conceivable way, the superior to the original line of W figuarts. There is no comparison, aside from the painful side by side I made of the two in the thread below. It’s incredible what an additional 5+ years of engineering has done for this line, and this character in particular. W’s suit is lavishly faithfully recreated here, and the figure has the properly engineered articulation to make full use of the charms and body language this design is capable of. Add a fully functional Double Driver with removable Gaia Memories and the two most perfect scarves ever, and you have the #1 Kamen Rider release of the year. Hands down.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post, but you can view over 70 images of S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider W after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see entire gallery and review. We’ll be back in two more days with another Toku Toy Box Gallery!

Kabutack Superchange Kuwajiro Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 19, 2016 at 1:02 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, General Tokusatsu News, Metal Heroes, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Superchange!”

We’re doubling up with yet another retro gallery for this years’ Toku Toy Box! For last years giveaway we took a look at the impressive Superchange DX Kabutack set, and this year we’re following up with Kabutack’s friend and ally, Superchange Kuwajiro!

Kuwajiro, like Kabutack, features an interesting and fun SD style Normal Mode, but by way of the Superchange gimmick can assume the more heroic Super Mode! Each figure in this line features the two, but perhaps Kuwajiro’s are the most similar. While he’s certainly not the most dynamic figure in the line, like everyone else he still has quite the charm to him. And thanks to his included Hasamic Cutter he packs a little bit of heat to make up for it.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but you can see the entire 40 image gallery by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in two days with yet another gallery for Toku Toy Box!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zero Drive Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 17, 2016 at 11:42 am by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Nice Drive!”

The prototype of Proto-Drive arrives in our latest gallery from Kamen Rider Drive! Hailing from Ghost X Drive Movie Wars Genesis, this form has actually been placed outside Drive continuity by a rare announcement from Toei. But that hasn’t stopped us from reviewing S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zero Drive for Toku Toy Box!

In the context of the film, Shinnosuke & Takeru are trapped 10 years in the past. So this form is a pre-cursor even to Kamen Rider Proto-Drive, totally experimental, much more dangerous than Type Speed, and actually less powerful. Only Shinnosuke’s experience as the completed Drive in the present allowed him to master the Zero Drive form.

With all that in mind please look below to see our full gallery of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zero Drive! Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post in order to see to complete 50+ image gallery! We’ll be back in 2 more days with yet another Toku Toy Box gallery!

Power Rangers Movie T-Rex Battle Zord Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 15, 2016 at 12:33 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Power Rangers, Power Rangers Movie, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“T-Rex Zord, it’s time for battle!”

Toku Toy Box continues today with TokuNation.com’s first official look at product from the 2017 Power Rangers Movie! With Movie toys having just hit stores in recent weeks we finally ran across the Movie T-Rex Battle Zord out in the wild and figure, what better time to do a full gallery & review!

The T-Rex Battle Zord is a behemoth toy. As a part of the colossal Movie Megaord, it’s no surprise that this figure makes up the bulk of it’s mass. Contributing the chest/upper torso, arms, cannon, tail whip/sword, and part of the wings, the T-Rex has a lot to offer. But the majority of it’s play value right now comes from it’s dino mode. Without the other 4 zords on the market, the T-Rex is more fun as a T-Rex. With pressure firing missile launchers, an electronic cannon with phrases & sounds effect, and a really neat mini pilot feature, the T-Rex Battle Zord is a great entry point to this line for fans.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but feel free to check out the complete  60+ image gallery after the jump. Just click, “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in two more days with another Toku Toy Box gallery!

Robotack Magnet Change Kamerock Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 13, 2016 at 11:25 am by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, General Tokusatsu News, Metal Heroes, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Magnet Change!”

We’ve returned with another retro gallery from one of my favorites toylines ever for Toku Toy Box! That of Tetsuwan Tantei Robotack! You may recall that last December the inaugural gallery in this series was the shows’ lead character Robotack, well today we’re taking a look at his companion and equally awesome super robot, Magnet Change Kamerock! For a broader explanation of the series itself, feel free to read through my previous Robotack gallery linked to above.

Kamerock is yet another wonderful example of one of my favorite toylines. With the Magnet Change/ジシャックチェンジ gimmick on full display when using another figure in the line, you can see just how addictive it is. Kamerock is a Wonder Turtle type robot with a pretty innocent looking Normal Mode, but a beefy bruiser of a Super Mode. You can see how he interacts with his companion Robotack, in the full gallery below.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post, but you can view the full 40 image gallery by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in 2 days with another new gallery for Toku Toy Box!

S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Dark Kabuto Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 11, 2016 at 2:20 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Cast Off: Change Beetle!”

Toku Toy Box is taking a look at another new premium style release from Tamashii Nations! Recently released as a Tamashii Nations 2016 event exclusive S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Dark Kabuto follows up S.S. Gattack and S.S. Kabuto as the third release in the Kabuto line. You may recall that last month , we also did a gallery of the Original Release Dark Kabuto, well let’s just say that the Shinkocchou Seihou is a massive improvement.

Just as with S.S. Kabuto & Gattack, Dark Kabuto features the brilliant body type that began the entire Seihou line. Once again this figure proves just how incredible the engineering for premium releases like this is. We recently glimpsed prototypes of the infamous Hopper Bros from Kabuto at Tamashii Nations 2016 as well, so the Kabuto lineup of S.S. releases  is really starting to shape up nicely. For now though Dark Kabuto is another fantastic addition that includes the perfect accessories to compliment his gorgeous design and paint scheme.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post, but you can view over 50 images of S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Dark Kabuto in the full gallery thread. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in two more days with another Toku Toy Box gallery!

S.I.C. Akumaizer 3 Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 9, 2016 at 11:44 am by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, General Tokusatsu News, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Let our Janklers roar, we are Akumaizer 3!”

The classic 1975 Shotaro Ishinomori series Akumaizer 3 may not be something you’re familiar with, but today that changes with our special Toku Toy Box gallery of the S.I.C. Akumaizer 3!

The series stars Zabitan, a rogue member of the Demon Clan who has come to the human world in order to become a hero, as well as his initial pursuers but eventual allies Ibiru & Gabura. This MASSIVE S.I.C. three pack contains all 3 members of the team as well as multiple heads & hands for Ibiru & Zabitan. But that’s not all! The trio’s signature Sabres, Zarad Irad & Garad are all included, and Ibiru’s Jo Gun and Gabura’s Mace & Axe are all included as well! This truly comprehensive release is the perfect fit for any fan of this series, or in fact obscure Tokusatsu in general. We have a brief overview of this show in the gallery thread.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but you can check out over 90 images of the incredible S.I.C. Akumaizer 3 set after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation” Forums at the bottom of this post.

S.H. Figuarts Alien Baltan Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 7, 2016 at 10:24 am by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights, Ultraman

One of Ultraman’s oldest & most persistent foes arrives for today’s Toku Toy Box Gallery with S.H. Figuarts Alien Baltan!

The 2nd release commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Ultra franchise, Alien Baltan is a companion piece to the recently released S.H. Figuarts Ultraman. However, unlike Ultraman, Baltan is a very straightforward and pretty bare bones release. With no accessories at all, the merits of this figure are based solely on it’s exquisite sculpt, paint apps, and personality. Does it effectively recreate the classic space ninja we all know and love? Read on to find out!

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but you can view the entire 50 image gallery of S.H. Figuarts Alien Baltan after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in two days with another Toku Toy Box gallery!

S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Gattack Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 5, 2016 at 8:11 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Cast Off: Change, Stag Beetle!”

Toku Toy Box continues with another gallery of a recent release. Today’s subject was long overdue, and thankfully the wait has been worth it. S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Gattack is yet another incredible entry into Bandai’s high end line of renewals.

Kamen Rider Gattack is of course the secondary rider of Kabuto & the case can definitely be made that he’s the real star of the show. And thanks to the fantastic engineering of the S.S. Kabuto body, this star really gets the chance to shine. Gattack includes the full range of articulation previously seen with Kabuto and brings his own gorgeous color scheme and accessories to the party. Both of Gattack’s Double Caliburs are included & they can combine for his Rider Cutting finish. Also, unlike Kabuto, Gattack even includes an alternate version of his Zecter! To see how vastly improved this figure is you can also check out our S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gattack (Original Release) gallery.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but you can view the entire 60 image gallery below by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in two days with the next gallery for Toku Toy Box!

Tokkei Winspector: S.H. Figuarts Walter Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 1, 2016 at 9:38 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Metal Heroes, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Mayday mayday SOS!”

Toku Toy Box has officially begun! And the first gallery that can qualify you for entry in this years’ contest is none other than S.H. Figuarts Walter from Tokkei Winspector!

Walter rounds out the Winspector trio in spectacular fashion following up from comrades Fire & Bikel. An accessory pack for the team was just released as well, we’ll be taking a look at it next month. But for now Walter is a magnificent follow up to two excellent releases. Featuring all the hallmarks of this subline, Walter has excellent articulation and a plethora of accessories for display options. His signature Dislider jetpack/shield, a pair of oil cans for having a drink, numerous extra hands, and the ever present Daytric M2 sidearm. Walter is the perfection finish to an excellent lineup of characters.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post, but you can actually view the entire 80 image gallery after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in 2 days with the next Toku Toy Box gallery as well! For now though, enjoy S.H. Figuarts walter!
