Ultraman Z – Form Reveals and the Return of Geed!

Posted on April 16, 2020 at 6:49 am by ZeoRangerV under Ultraman

 Chant my name!

Tsuburaya Productions have released new information about the newest instalment in the Ultra Series – the forthcoming Ultraman Z!

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Ultraman Zero, the series will feature Zero’s student as the titular hero. Ultraman Z will be voiced by Tasuku Hatanaka (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, My Hero Academia) and assumes the human guise of Haruki Natsukawa, played by Kohshu Hirano.

Ultraman Z will transform using Ultra Z Riser, registering a unique Ultra Access Card and scanning three Ultra Medals to assume a variety of forms:

Alpha Edge – a space martial arts form using the medals of Seven, Leo and Zero.

Beta Smash – a wrestling-style form using the medals of Ultraman Ace and Taro.

Gamma Future – a psychic-powered form using the medals of Tiga, Dyna and Gaia.

Also making a return in the series is Riku Asakura, aka Ultraman Geed! Geed will also be able to transform using the Z Riser, card and medals – assuming the new form of Galaxy Rising! This form combines the medals of Ginga, X and Orb!

Ultraman Z’s opening theme will be “GOSHOUWA KUDASAI WARE NO NA WO! (Chant My Name!)” performed by JAM Project member Masaaki Endou, and it’s closing theme “Connect the Truth” by Nami Tamaki.

Ultraman Z begins airing in Japan on June 20th 2020! Check out the trailer below as well as the cast comments in the full Tsuburaya release!

My Shiny Toy Robots Reviews: Ultraman Taiga

Posted on April 3, 2020 at 4:34 pm by ZeoRangerV under Ultraman

Buddy, GO!

Tokunation contributor and friend to the site My Shiny Toy Robots is back again with a new Tokusatsu review, this time taking a look at the 2019 Ultra Series entry and seventh entry to the New Generation Hero lineup – Ultraman Taiga!

12 years after his defeat at the hands of Ultraman Tregear, Ultraman Taiga regains a physical form when he bonds with Hiroyuki Kudo – a strong-willed member of the private security organisation EGIS. Shortly afterward, Taiga’s comrades Ultraman Titas and Ultraman Fuma also find their way to Taiga – reuniting the Tri-Squad as the trio take up residency within Hiroyuki. However Tregear has also made his way Earth, and has his own plans for the son of Taro…

Please check out the review and let us know your thoughts about the series in the discussion thread linked!

Introducing, Ultraman Z!

Posted on March 25, 2020 at 8:59 pm by Den-O under Ultraman

Officially announced by the Tsuburaya Ultraman Global Portal on twitter, we now have a face to go with the name, Ultraman Z! Along with the reveal of Ultraman Z’s (pronounced as Zett) design we also have a synopsis of his story, and you could probably guess it with that name, he’s a disciple of Ultraman Zero!

The newest Ultra Hero is Ultraman Zett, the disciple of Ultraman Zero, who is now celebrating his tenth anniversary! An admirer of Zero, Zett worked hard to become a member of the “Inter Galactic Defense Force.” With a passion inherited from his teacher Zero, Zett is an Ultraman who always looks forward and forges ahead.

In this series, our protagonist who transforms into Ultraman Zett is Haruki Natsukawa (played by Kohshu Hirano), a member of the anti-monster robot force “STORAGE”. The twenty-fourth* Ultraman TV series Ultraman Z features a story in which Zett and Haruki will grow together. Please look forward to this latest series!

Tsuburaya has even more information on the Ultraman Z series including a break down of the cast, head over to their official site, and get ready for the next generation hero to make his debut! The new series debuted June 20th, 2020!
