We’re only 3 short months away from the next Official Power Morphicon! And as we get closer and closer to the show, more and more guests are being added! Recently announced guests for the next Official Power Morphicon include:

It’s that time of year once again for the comic & toy convention season to get under way! And getting the ball rolling on both fronts is the upcoming Lexington Comic & Toy Con, from March 13th-15th! What began in 2012 as a con that garnered over 1000 guests has flourished in the years since to it’s height now, attracting upwards of 20,000 guests from the around the midwest & southeast!

What’s even more impressive is how the guest list for this con has grown from featuring just a few of your favorite Power Rangers actors, to being one of the nations premiere selections of ranger actors! This year the convention staff have pulled out all the stops to offer the BIGGEST selection of Power Rangers, & Indeed Super Sentai actors, possible! Not to mention a few other fantastic bonuses for Ultraman fans! Check out the full guest list as it pertains to the tokusatsu fandom below, as maintained by our very own uchihabro77! 

Aside from this star studded guest list, LexCon is also an opportunity for fans to make real world connections. As I’ve done in years past I will of course be there repping for TokuNation.com & the Talkin Toku Podcast. But many other groups and personalities in the tokusatsu fandom will also be in attendance like trekkieb47 of Ranger Command Power Hour and RiderJetfire of Dans Toku Rants. If you’re going to be in attendance be sure to post in our Lexington Comic & Toy Con 2015 thread. Let’s take a look this week at one of the central villains of In Space, Dark Specter. As you may or may not have noticed by now Dark Specter bears a strong (100% identical) resemblance to another past foe of the rangers. Maligore from, Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. That’s because the Maligore costume was simply reused for Dark Specter, though Specter could speak and was quoted as being substantially more powerful. At least once within the show’s continuity this resemblance was remarked upon by Divatox, who herself almost wed Maligore in the Turbo movie.

Blatant costume reuse of this nature doesn’t happen quite that much these days but it’s fun to notice. Off and on over the years various re-releases of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie have even featured the Maligore/Dark Specter image in the background of the DVD cover as well. This is itself even more odd as the central villain of that film was Ivan Ooze.

For those fans who live on the east coast and cannot make it to Power Morphicon this year due to cost, timing, etc., great news! The east coast’s largest gathering of Power Rangers continues on thanks to the folks of RangerStop.com! This show is located in Orlando, Florida and will be held the weekend of November 7th thru the 9th at the Holiday Inn & Suites at Universal Orlando!
