For those still eager to see 2016’s Shin Godzilla/Godzilla Resurgence movie, we have good news for you: FUNIMATION’s just recently announced a Blu Ray/DVD release is finally coming to North America.
Of course, the movie will contain English subtitles along with a brand new dub and a few other extras features. The cast list for the English dub can be found on the official web page . Shin Godzilla is expected to come out this August.
After an impressive run in Japanese theaters grossing over 5 billion yen, the latest Godzilla movie is finally gearing up for a release in America!
Funimation will bring Shin Godzilla (also known as Godzilla:Resurgence) to a select group of 440 US theaters from October 11-18 2016. Check out the Official Funimation Site to find screenings in your area!
In a surprise move we’ve just gotten word from San Diego Comic Con 2016 that Funimation has officially obtained licensing rights for a theatrical release of Shin Godzilla! For western branding purposes the film has been refereed to as Godzilla Resurgence previously.
Opening July 29th in Japan, the brainchild of Hideaki Anno (creator of the prolific Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise) Shin Godzilla sees the largest and possibly most horrific version ever of the iconic monster destroy Japan once again. This bit of licensing news is a huge win for fans who feared there may not be a release of the film in the west. Presumably this theatrical release would be a limited engagement as previous Funimation efforts for Attack on Titan & Dragonball Z films have been.
We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available in the coming weeks!
Today at Anime Matsuri, the English dubbing company FUNIMATION, known by most casual fans for their English dub of Dragonball Z, announced the upcoming cast for the English language dub! Check out the voice talents, and who they’re playing, below!

Bernardo Dion – Ivan Jasso

Anna Luís – Anastasia Munoz
Ema Guzmán – Monica Rial
Garm – Tia Ballard
Rafael – Ben Bryant

FUNIMATION summarizes the story of Garo – The Animation as follows:
A long time ago in the kingdom of Valiante, humans shared the world with Horrors—monsters who feed on humans with weakness in their hearts. Desperate to put an end to the Horrors’ reign, the King allowed his advisor Mendoza to launch a witch hunt targeting the magic users who had sworn to protect humanity from evil.
One-by-one the famed Makai Knights and Alchemists were cut down by Mendoza and his men. That is, until a young Makai Knight named León inherited the golden armor of Garo and with it, the power to save the kingdom. But unlike the other Makai Knights who fight to protect humanity, León is young, reckless, and driven by his desire to avenge his mother’s death at Mendoza’s hands. How can an immature Golden Knight who fights for the wrong reasons hope to protect anyone?
Garo – The Animation Season One Part One English dub will release on DVD and Blu-Ray on April 26th. This will be a great chance for fans who are unfamiliar with the Garo franchise to get to know one of the more popular tokusatsu series with older audiences.
