Shout! Factory has put together a surprising new item: a special Mighty Morphin Power Rangers DVD release featuring the “Green With Evil” miniseries that introduced the world to Tommy Oliver, still a fan-favorite Ranger all these years later!
“Green With Evil” will be released on September 23rd for the relatively affordable price of 12.99.

To all of our friends and fans up north – during the weekend of September 27th, 28th in Toronto you will have a chance to meet veteran Power Ranger and anime voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch. He will be appearing at Unplugged Expo, which will be held that weekend of September at the Chestnut Conference Centre in downtown Toronto.
Just in case you’re not familiar with Johnny Yong Bosch – he played “Adam Park” the second Black Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, as well as the Green Ranger for both Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers Turbo. As for his anime credentials? He’s best known for his roles on Trigun, Bleach, Naruto, as well as video game voice over work on Saints Row IV, Persona 4, Soulcalibur V, Transformers: War For Cybertron, and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.

Before the epic crossover with our friends at RangerCommand comes out, we have some movie stuff to talk about! A lot of people may think this is a funny update, but for fans of Power Rangers this is kind of big! The actor known as Austin St. John who played Jason Lee Scott the original Mighty Morphin Red Power Ranger as well as the fan-favorite Zeo Gold Ranger is making his first convention appearance in nearly 7 years this weekend at Comicpalooza, the Texas International Comic Con. This is the first public appearance by Austin St. John since 2007, as he has been overseas being busy as a real life hero working with emergency responders in the Middle East.

Today proves to be a big news day for the Power Rangers franchise as Saban Brands announces partnership with Lionsgate for a Power Rangers live-action feature film.
No specific details of the project are mentioned in the press release, other than that “the new film franchise will re-envision the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world.”
The release continues to say:
“Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level,” said Saban. “They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from The Hunger Games to Twilight and Divergent. In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we’re confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy all its own.”
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Haim Saban and his team to maximize the potential of this immensely successful and universally recognized franchise,” said Feltheimer. “The Power Rangers stories and characters have been embraced by generations of audiences for more than 20 years, and today they are more powerful than ever. We have the ideal partner and the perfect brand with which to create a motion picture event that will resonate with moviegoers around the world for years to come.”

Austin St. John, better known as Jason Lee Scott the Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger and Zeo Gold Ranger recently returned to the fandom after being gone for many years while serving as a medic in the middle east. Through his official Facebook page he has done another audio clip, this time answering some of the more burning questions that fans have been asking on his page.
Why did he decline the 20th Anniversary reunion episode in Power Rangers Super Megaforce? What conventions will he be attending, and are any overseas? Would he be open to returning to the Power Rangers franchise? These questions and more are answered in this audio clip below!
