San Diego Comic Con 2018 is just around the corner, so it’s time to see what Bandai America has cooked up for their last SDCC Power Rangers exclusives!

This year Bandai is pulling out all the stops with three Legacy releases:

  • Legacy 6.5″ Psycho Green Ranger
  • Legacy 6.5″ Psycho Silver Ranger
  • Legacy Gold Ranger Zeonizer

This years’ exclusives pack quite the punch and should quench the thirst of many fans. Despite some uncertainty about wether some upcoming Legacy 6.5″ figures would even be released at one point, these exclusives mean that all 7 of the Psycho Rangers will indeed be released at some point. What a time to be a fan! Details on when and where these items can be purchased coming soon.

SDCC 2018 runs from July 19th-22nd!

“It’s Morphin’ Time!”

It’s been a while since we’ve tackled a Legacy release from Bandai, and with their time with the Power Rangers license coming to end, we thought it appropriate to take a look at one of their last high end releases. Making it’s way out to retail currently at Toys R Us (as they go our of business themselves) is the Legacy Zeonizer!

It’s  unfortunate that this collector’s piece is heralding the end of the line, and a retailer, but we wanted to take a look at it while we could. The Legacy Zeonizer is the latest in Bandai’s line of high end prop replicas, and frankly it may be their best effort. A wonderful recreation of the morpher used in Power Rangers Zeo, this collector’s piece features a number of built in light & sound gimmicks including unique Morphin’ call outs and specific colors for each ranger. Of course the icing on the cake is it’s best feature, the ability to play the entire Power Rangers Zeo Opening Theme!

Revealed 1st through our friends at Power Rangers Now, we have our first confirmation of this years New York Comic Con Power Rangers Exclusives!

First up we have the Tokyo Vinyl Touma Edition Mighty Morphin Megazord. A repaint of the popular vinyl in a striking new green and black color scheme. It will retail at the show for $60. Then we’ve got the Legacy Power Rangers Fighting Spirit Figure Set! An elaborate 3 figure set recreating the ghosts of Tommy’s past from the long loved episode of Power Rangers Dino Thunder. This set will retail for $80.

Both exclusives will be available at the Bandai America booths #1628 & #1720 during New York Comic Con 2017 October 5th-8th!

As SDCC 2017 rages on and our news crew fights valiantly to bring us news & reveals, they’ve popped into the Power Rangers panel to snag us all the cool info this year! Here’s the highlights of what Kickback and the gang saw and heard at the panel

  • nWay showcase of Power Rangers Legacy Wars. Including character model turnarounds of characters Black Dragon, Lord Drakkon, Movie Putty, & Ninjor! And in the words of the panelists Lord Drakkon is “very key to the franchise going forward”.
  • Imagniext toyline overview. Jokes were made about a large scale Titanus playset for the Megazord to fit in “but that thing is huge”. Instead a smaller figure scale Megazord is coming. And a to scale Titanus WILL be made for this new smaller line. Thunder Megazord & Pirantis figures coming as well.
  • Pop Culture Shock releases we covered last night from their booth including the magnificent Lord Drakkon bust. Movie Red Ranger & Rita, TV Green Pink & Black rangers as well. Life Size White Ranger & Red Ranger Busts, Green Ranger 1/4 Statue.
  • Funko – SDCC exclusive Megazord Pop, Dragon Shield Red Ranger
  • Bandai – rundown of the SDCC exclusives, in person showing of the Legacy Power Sword, Legacy Movie Power Coins set, Legacy Movie Red Ranger Helmet. New action figure Legacy Zords, articulated figures with min-ranger pilots. Legacy Zeo Rangers, Dino Thunder White Ranger, In Space Silver, all 5 Psycho Rangers. Question asked about Drakkon & Black Dragon toys, “nothing to confirm at this time”. It’s that time of year once again for the comic & toy convention season to get under way! And getting the ball rolling on both fronts is the upcoming Lexington Comic & Toy Con, from March 13th-15th! What began in 2012 as a con that garnered over 1000 guests has flourished in the years since to it’s height now, attracting upwards of 20,000 guests from the around the midwest & southeast!

What’s even more impressive is how the guest list for this con has grown from featuring just a few of your favorite Power Rangers actors, to being one of the nations premiere selections of ranger actors! This year the convention staff have pulled out all the stops to offer the BIGGEST selection of Power Rangers, & Indeed Super Sentai actors, possible! Not to mention a few other fantastic bonuses for Ultraman fans! Check out the full guest list as it pertains to the tokusatsu fandom below, as maintained by our very own uchihabro77! 

Aside from this star studded guest list, LexCon is also an opportunity for fans to make real world connections. As I’ve done in years past I will of course be there repping for TokuNation.com & the Talkin Toku Podcast.
