Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie 5 Inch Black Ranger Gallery

Posted on March 11, 2015 at 10:06 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers

The Power is On!

Once again here at TokuNation we’re taking a look at a brand new figure from Bandai of America’s 5″ Legacy Line. The original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Black Ranger!

As with our previously reviewed 5″ Movie Red Ranger this figure marks the first time ever that the Movie Black Ranger has been portrayed properly in toy form. While nicely detailed the articulation is a mixed bag and the accessories are a bit on the lite side. The Legacy Movie Black Ranger specifically comes with his Power Blaster sidearm as well as a holster but unfortunately that’s it. We break down the ins and outs of this figure, both positive & negative in the review after the jump.

We’ve also attached a selection of images to this post but the full gallery thread contains 50 images of this highly anticipated new figure.  Be sure to check out the images & full review, with more than a few fun bonuses included, and be sure to share your thoughts on the 5″ Legacy Black Red Ranger in our gallery thread!

Chroma Squad to Release April 30th

Posted on March 11, 2015 at 9:56 pm by Chris under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

I’m pretty sure everyone remembers the incident from last year where the developers of the popular upcoming game Chroma Squad were in the midst of possibly being shut down by Saban Brands, the company behind our favorite Power Rangers franchise. After some behind the scenes work (we assume!), Behold Studios released a video announcing the release date of the game – you can play Chroma Squad when it releases on April 30th, 2015.

Chroma Squad was a Kickstarter campaign-funded PC game that allows you, the player, to create and manage your own studio production of a Super Sentai-esq television series. This means hiring a cast, creating suits, buying upgrades, filming battles, and yes – there’s even mech battles within the city that you get to create. This game has been highly anticipated for a long time and it’s great to see it coming out! Check out the release date announcement video below.

You can pre-order the game by going to ChromaSquad.com. The game will be available for PC and Mac, releasing through Steam. We’ve included some screen shots so you can decide if you’re interested or not! What do you think? Do you plan to pick up the game? Discuss!

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger – Ninnin Action 03 Ki Ninger Gallery

Posted on March 10, 2015 at 9:44 pm by Chris under Super Sentai

We’re back with the third release in the Shuriken Sentai Ninninger Ninin Action series of figures! As you already know, these figures from Bandai Japan utilize the style and molds of the toys released by Bandai of America – meaning they are muscular and not super entirely show accurate. But can they make up for a less popular design with fun paint apps and accessories? You’ll have to check out our gallery and our review to find out!

To see the full gallery and review – click here and check out all 25 images of Ki Ninger!! Be sure to post your thoughts on what very well could be the Power Rangers 2017 toy line!

Reminder: Lexington Comic & Toy Con 2015 This Weekend, March 13th-15th!

Posted on March 9, 2015 at 11:52 pm by Den-O under Conventions, General Tokusatsu News, Other Conventions, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, Ultraman

It’s that time of year once again for the comic & toy convention season to get under way! And getting the ball rolling on both fronts is the upcoming Lexington Comic & Toy Con, from March 13th-15th! What began in 2012 as a con that garnered over 1000 guests has flourished in the years since to it’s height now, attracting upwards of 20,000 guests from the around the midwest & southeast!

What’s even more impressive is how the guest list for this con has grown from featuring just a few of your favorite Power Rangers actors, to being one of the nations premiere selections of ranger actors! This year the convention staff have pulled out all the stops to offer the BIGGEST selection of Power Rangers, & Indeed Super Sentai actors, possible! Not to mention a few other fantastic bonuses for Ultraman fans! Check out the full guest list as it pertains to the tokusatsu fandom below, as maintained by our very own uchihabro77!

Aside from this star studded guest list, LexCon is also an opportunity for fans to make real world connections. As I’ve done in years past I will of course be there repping for TokuNation.com & the Talkin Toku Podcast. But many other groups and personalities in the tokusatsu fandom will also be in attendance like trekkieb47 of Ranger Command Power Hour and RiderJetfire of Dans Toku Rants. If you’re going to be in attendance be sure to post in our Lexington Comic & Toy Con 2015 thread. We’ll see you there!

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger – Ninnin Action 02 Ao Ninger Gallery

Posted on March 9, 2015 at 9:22 pm by Chris under Super Sentai

It’s time for the second release in the Shuriken Sentai Ninninger Ninnin Action series – a gallery of the Ao Ninger figure!

Just like with the Aka Ninger figure, this figure is basically a Bandai of America style figure with the large muscles and the short height (it is 5″ now as opposed to the 6″-ish figures that Bandai Japan had released every year prior). This means it scales well with your Power Rangers figures, but not so much with any of your previous Bandai Japan figures.

Check out over 30 images of the Ao Ninger and post your thoughts in the discussion. Click here to go straight to the gallery, review, and discussion. It’s a pretty hot topic – a lot of collectors are unhappy with the direction that Bandai Japan has taken. What are YOUR thoughts on it? Sound off in discussion!

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger – Ninnin Action 01 Aka Ninger Gallery

Posted on March 8, 2015 at 5:32 pm by Chris under Super Sentai

Our gallery is now live for the first release in the Shuriken Sentai Ninninger Ninnin Action series – #01 Aka Ninger!

This year’s Ninnin Action line is a bit of a line-drawer in the sense that unlike previous years, Bandai Japan is now using the same 5″ figures that Bandai of America has been using the last few years – the super muscular bodies that cause havoc when trying to pose the figures accurately to their actions in the actual show. So how did they do in their first run? Are there any differences that we can tell between these figures and the Bandai of America 5″ figures that you can buy at retail right now? Are the accessories the same unpainted soft plastic that we get on this side of the Pacific Ocean?

Check out the full gallery and review by clicking here and find out. We’ll also let you know whether or not these are worth picking up. But at least now they match your Power Rangers figures, right?

Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie 5″ Red Ranger Gallery

Posted on March 7, 2015 at 1:53 am by Den-O under Power Rangers

TokuNation is finally proud to present the first in a new series of photo galleries for your viewing pleasure. Based on the classic 1995 film Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie is a new line of 5″ figures that have just made their way to Toys R Us locations across the country. Today we’re spotlighting the first in that series of figures, the 5″ Legacy Movie Red Ranger!

This figure is the first foray ever that Bandai of America has made into producing toys of the actual costumes used in the original MMPR film. Wonderfully detailed and at a pretty affordable price point, most any fan of this original movie should be happy to have one or more of these Legacy Figures in their collection. The Legacy Movie Red Ranger in particular comes packaged with his Power Blaster sidearm as well as a holster, and the unique Power Scope from the film!

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but the full gallery thread contains 50 images of this highly anticipated new figure. We’ve also posted an in depth review of this figure for you to peruse. Be sure to check out the images, with more than a few fun bonuses included, and be sure to share your thoughts on the 5″ Legacy Movie Red Ranger in our gallery thread!
