Another tidbit was given to us from Saban Brands regarding the Gold Ranger. The Examiner.com was given an in-depth expose of the new character to the Power Rangers. We’ll give you a brief run down so you can be up to speed! Then check out the awesome images that were sent to us by Saban Brands for the arrival of the latest Gold Ranger to the team!

Ivan, the Gold Ranger, found the Gold Energem 800 years ago. He was ambushed by the villain Fury and imprisoned within him, but not before he bonded with the power of the Gold Energem. With help from the Power Rangers Dino Charge, Ivan was able to break out of his prison inside Fury and joins the team. Ivan values honesty and loyalty above all other traits and practices them himself through and through. Because he missed 800 years, he adds a sense of innocence to the team much like Koda the Blue Ranger. He wields the Ptera Morpher and Ptera Saber, and calls upon the Ptera Zord which transforms in to the Ptera Charge Megazord to fight with the other Power Rangers!

We received some production stills for the next episode of Power Rangers Dino Charge titled “Knight After Knights”. The episode features Ivan the Gold Ranger trying to decide whether or not to join the team of the Power Rangers – and unfortunately, the monster Bones shows up and starts stealing the Rangers’ back-bones, making them look like cowards.

Can Shelby the Pink Ranger convince Ivan to still join the team as well as to save the others? The brand new episode airs Saturday, September 19th on Nickelodeon. Because this episode accidentally uploaded to Nick.com early, many fans have already seen the episode. Bad news if you’re a fan of the quasi-toku franchise Pacific Rim. It was revealed today through a story in the Hollywood Reporter that an on-going battle between Legendary Pictures (the company that made the first Pacific Rim movie) and Universal (the company that distributed the movie) has put the sequel to the fan-favorite movie in to an indefinite halt in terms of production, with whispers that the movie may not get made period.

To recap – Pacific Rim finished its domestic earnings at $101.8 million dollars. However, the overseas market (and especially China) helped the movie earn worldwide a total of over $409 million dollars. Legendary Pictures has a lot of investment in the Chinese market and desperately wants a sequel to this movie made (because of the apparent cash cow it will become in the Chinese market). Universal, on the other hand, could care less about the overseas market and is more concerned about money, or the lack thereof, being brought in by recent releases from Legendary Pictures.

In short – it’s all about the money. Universal is unhappy with recent releases from Legendary Pictures, while Legendary Pictures wants more money chipped in (while cashing in on the Chinese market once the movie is released). Thanks (if you can call it that) to the French airings of Power Rangers Dino Charge, we’re now able to list who plays the Purple Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Charge! We consider this a spoiler (as there are story elements tied in to it). So we will use the “spoiler” tag on our front page as well as in our discussion forum. Click the button for the spoilers!

Spoiler:
The Power Rangers meet an older man named Albert in New Zealand who has possession of the Purple Energem. He is played by Arthur Ranford. He is unable to fight because he is scared – and he doesn’t know why the Purple Energem chose him. Keeper is able to break the bond between human and Energem. Sledge comes in to possession of the Purple Energem and also manages to capture Keeper aboard his ship. Going in alone to save him, Kendall finds the Purple Energem in the ship and becomes the Purple Ranger in the season finale.

This Saturday there’s a brand new episode of Power Rangers Dino Charge! In the 10th episode of the season, “The Royal Rangers”, the team comes under attack by the Ptera Charge Megazord controlled by Fury! The team is easily over-powered and they have one last hope to turn the tide of battle – the experimental Dino Drive Chargers! Later, the team discovers one of the jewels from the treasures of Zandar at the museum is glowing gold … could it be the Gold Energem!? To lure Fury to them so they can take back the Gold Ptera Charger, Tyler and Shelby take on the role of Prince and Princess of Zandar! But will it work?

It was twenty-two years ago today that an evil space sorceress by the name of Rita Repulsa escaped her space-garbage-can prison with the goal of conquering the Earth. An intergalactic being known as Zordon, along with his robotic assistant Alpha 5, selected five teenagers with attitude to take upon the ancient power of the dinosaurs to become the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. For twenty-two years different teenagers (and adults) have taken the mantle of power to save the city, to save the Earth, to save the galaxy – even to save time itself!

We’ve had evil villains from space, space pirates, an entire United Alliance of Evil, a Machine Empire, evil demons from a place that was obviously Hell but you can’t say that on a kids program, space insects (a couple of times!), a computer virus that conquered the world, a scientist obsessed with dinosaurs, an evil ninja, space cats (…yup), an entire Armada, and an evil bounty hunter. We’ve had mentors that rhymed, sang, once drove race cars but became paleontologists because television, a ninja hamster, created a robot son because that’s not creepy, an introvert genius, a samurai mentor, a head on a wall, a dog, and now a creepy little alien that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. We’ve had a kid Power Ranger, we’ve had a Power Ranger die (but come back to life because kids television), we’ve had a tragic story of a knight who lost his son and the grief kept him alive, we’ve had a mother/father/son team of Power Rangers, and we’ve seen a team go SUPER MEGA (you knew that was coming).

We’ve had the original creations of the Titanium Ranger and the Spirit Rangers and we’ve had BLITZ NEW POWERS!. We’ve had great music selections and we’ve had some questionable theme songs. But in the end, we’ve had 22 years of heroes and that’s a feat that is pretty dang impressive on to itself.

Here we go! Today the casting sides for the upcoming Power Rangers 2017 Movie were released online. What is a casting side you ask? Well, it’s basically a bunch of lines for actors to read off or to get in to character while auditioning for the role of the character they’re trying out for. Casting sides are not always a guarantee – the casting sides for Power Rangers Megaforce were different than what we ended up with.

Now obviously – there’s potential major spoilers. Below is a screen shot of the casting side with the details blurred out. These casting sides potentially give us the first details on the story (how similar is it to the “leaked” story from a month or so ago?), as well as more details on some of the character bios that were leaked not too long ago (Kimberly being absent from school for six months is explained, as well as part of Billy’s reasoning for being such an introvert).
