Kamen Rider Gaim Arms Change Kurokage with Tulip Hopper Video Review

Posted on April 9, 2014 at 12:33 am by Chris under Kamen Rider

We love us any and all Kamen Rider Gaim merchandise here at TokuNation.com. One of our favorite lines to collect has also been one of the hardest to grab at retail – the Arms Change series of figures and accessories from Bandai Japan. Our friend and site contributor baltmatrix FINALLY got his hands on a figure set he had been looking forward to for some time now – the Arms Change 09 Kurokage with Tulip Hopper set – and was kind enough to do a video review of the figure. What’s the worst part about this figure? Is the extra dough for the Tulip Hopper worth it? If you’re on the fence on whether or not you want to pay the secondary market price for this figure, check out baltmatrix‘s review below and then make your decision!

The images in this video are courtesy our very own Den-O. If you’re not a subscriber to baltmatrix and his video channel then you should probably fix that by becoming a subscriber! Simply click here and subscribe so you never miss a beat on any of his video reviews. For all you Transformers fans out there, we’re getting close to the release of the Age of Extinction toy line. Why throw $40 at a figure that used to cost you $25 without first checking baltmatrix‘s video reviews? We’ve linked this news story to the gallery that Den-O did of the Arms Change Kurokage figure – go ahead and comment on it and the video review!

Ultraman Victory Confirmed with Official Announcement of Ultraman Ginga S

Posted on April 8, 2014 at 11:59 pm by Chris under Ultraman

A lot of exciting news for fans of the Ultraman series. It has now been officially announced that the next Ultraman series will be Ultraman Ginga S, a sequel to Ultraman Ginga, and will feature the new hero Ultraman Victory. The new hero will be played by Uji Kiyotaka, best known as the actor who played the role of the Unicorn Zodiarts in Kamen Rider Fourze.

For fans of Power Rangers, beloved director and executive producer Koichi Sakamoto will be taking the helm as the main director for the series. His last job was none other than director for Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, which is being adapted as Power Rangers Dino Charge in 2015 on Nickelodeon.

Ultraman Ginga S premieres on July 15th, 2014 and will consist of total of 16 episodes broken down in to two halves of eight episodes each. What are your thoughts on that crazy helmet design? Or the suit in general? Are you looking forward to the series? Discuss away on the forums!

Talkin Toku Podcast Episode 007 – Tin Can Madness – Released

Posted on April 8, 2014 at 11:00 am by Chris under Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

The original trio of the Talkin Toku Podcast are back together for the first time in a month! Join Kickback (Chris, @rankal), Den-O (Jordan, @DenO_Tokunation), and Sentai Tamashii (Tom, @SoulInkChu)) in their latest adventure of discussing all things tokusatsu! The last time the group was together was before events like NJCC and LexCon, and now that they’re together, they spend some time remembering the conventions. Listen to Tom’s story of how he missed purchasing a holy grail for his collection by a matter of minutes! Find out what Steve Cardenas (Rocky, Mighty Morphin Red Power Ranger #2, Zeo Blue Power Ranger) did to troll Jordan at LexCon!

Gears shift as the crew then discusses the recent developments on Kamen Rider Gaim. What was everyone’s most “OMG” moment when watching the show? What are their thoughts on DJ Sagura? The trainbow is tasted once more as Tom and Jordan discuss the Shadow Line extensively with Ressha Sentai ToQGer and Jordan makes a bold prediction for just who ToQ #6 will end up being! Finally, Chris gushes over the episode “Spirit of the Tiger” from Power Rangers Super Megaforce. But, as with anything Power Rangers related, someone ends up hogging the spotlight as the crew discusses, for the last time in a public format, the entire debacle that was Morphin Madness Round 3.

For those who were caught up heavily in Morphin Madness, this is your chance to get the scoop behind the controversial Twitter campaign with the hash tag #NoMoreTommy from the creator of that movement himself – Jordan. What was the real purpose behind it? Was there any spite attached to it, and if so, why? Jordan reveals all this episode. Check out the episode details below and take a listen for yourself!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Unfortunately, we had some technical difficulties with the audio on this podcast. The problem has been identified and will be corrected going forward, but sadly the original source for the audio is lost forever, meaning the only way you can hear this episode is through the current quality. After spending a few days trying to fix the audio from the source material, the decision was made by all three hosts to release the episode because, honestly, we thought it was a pretty damn good episode. We do apologize for the lackluster quality of the audio and hope you will still give the episode a listen. Again, future episodes will not have this problem.

Yutaka Kiba Ranger Role Play Set Gallery

Posted on April 3, 2014 at 12:28 pm by Chris under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Here’s a blast out of the past brought to you by our photo guru conundrum! It only seems fitting that with the Mighty Morphin White Power Ranger in the final round of Morphin Madness that we feature this…interesting…figure from the days of Gosei Sentai Dairanger. Behold, the Yutaka Kiba Ranger Role Play set!

For those asking, “What the F is Yutaka?” … Yutaka was a branch of Bandai of Japan formed from the remnants of Shinsei Manufacturing created in 1990 and closed down back in 2003. Their primary focus was cost-affordable role play items for the Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series in Japan. This gallery is of Kiba Ranger from Gosei Sentai Dairanger, or better known to the rest of the world as the Mighty Morphin White Power Ranger.

While not the most eloquent looking figure with very limited articulation (it still might rival ToQOh though…), the sculpting on Byakkoshinken (aka Saba) looks very impressive. To check out the full review and gallery by conundrum, simply click right here or on the ”Discuss on TokuNation forums link at the bottom of the post.

Before you spend absurd amounts of money for this figure, buyer beware and check out the review! And don’t forget to take the time to go to MorphinMadness.com to vote for the Mighty Morphin White Power Ranger! #VoteWhiteRanger

Power Rangers Dino Charge Casting Side Now Available

Posted on April 3, 2014 at 12:17 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

The auditions for the next cast of Power Rangers, known as Power Rangers Dino Charge (based off the recently-finished Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger) have been posted and are available to view at our good friends at RangerCrew.com. Come take a read and see how Kyle and Sarah interact. It’s important to note that casting sides are not indicative of what the final names for characters will be, nor do they hint at any type of story that the show will be focusing on. They are simply used to get actors and actresses to act a certain scene, usually to help the casting directors decide who is suited for a second round for what they’re really looking for.

Again, to check out the casting side, head over to this thread at RangerCrew.com. A special thanks to @Morphin_K on Twitter and our good buddy Fury Diamond.
