Reminder: Lexington Comic & Toy Con 2015 This Weekend, March 13th-15th!

Posted on March 9, 2015 at 11:52 pm by Den-O under Conventions, General Tokusatsu News, Other Conventions, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, Ultraman

It’s that time of year once again for the comic & toy convention season to get under way! And getting the ball rolling on both fronts is the upcoming Lexington Comic & Toy Con, from March 13th-15th! What began in 2012 as a con that garnered over 1000 guests has flourished in the years since to it’s height now, attracting upwards of 20,000 guests from the around the midwest & southeast!

What’s even more impressive is how the guest list for this con has grown from featuring just a few of your favorite Power Rangers actors, to being one of the nations premiere selections of ranger actors! This year the convention staff have pulled out all the stops to offer the BIGGEST selection of Power Rangers, & Indeed Super Sentai actors, possible! Not to mention a few other fantastic bonuses for Ultraman fans! Check out the full guest list as it pertains to the tokusatsu fandom below, as maintained by our very own uchihabro77!

Aside from this star studded guest list, LexCon is also an opportunity for fans to make real world connections. As I’ve done in years past I will of course be there repping for TokuNation.com & the Talkin Toku Podcast. But many other groups and personalities in the tokusatsu fandom will also be in attendance like trekkieb47 of Ranger Command Power Hour and RiderJetfire of Dans Toku Rants. If you’re going to be in attendance be sure to post in our Lexington Comic & Toy Con 2015 thread. We’ll see you there!

LexCon 2015 Update: Aohisa Takayasu To Replace Yuta Mochizuki

Posted on February 25, 2015 at 8:31 pm by Den-O under Conventions, Other Conventions, Super Sentai

Announced on the LexCon facebook page comes word that Yuta Mochizuki known for his role as Tyranno Ranger in Kyoryu Sentai Zyurager has sadly had to cancel his LexCon appearance for this year. Mr Mochizuki has become severely ill and unfortunately can’t make the trip to the states for now.

The silver lining to this sad situation though is that another Zyuranger actor will be taking his place. None other than Aohisa Takayasu AKA Mammoth Ranger! We certainly send our best wishes to Mr. Mochizuki and hope for a swift recovery, in the interim though be sure to head to the Lexington Comic & Toy Con from March 13th-15th to meet Mr. Takayasu!

Posted on February 18, 2015 at 9:42 pm by Den-O under Conventions, Power Rangers, Toy Fair

Though it slipped by during our coverage of New York Toy Fair, Fisher-Price had an impressive Migthy Morphin Power Rangers Imaginext Playset on display. And now thanks to Action Figure Insider we can share some information and images of this upcoming set!

A sizable toy, this Morphin Megazord playset looks to be an all-in-one adventure for children of all ages and includes Armored Red & Armored Black Ranger figures to helm the mighty robot. Additionally Fisher-Price revealed information about the functionality of the Megazord and the rest of their upcoming Mighty Morphin toyline for 2015!

  • Power Ranger Figure Pack Assortment: Add might to every Power Rangers battle with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers figure packs. Young fans will love using these figures to re-enact scenes from their favorite TV show and movies, or creating new adventures of their own. Collect all the Rangers and combine their weapons to form the Power Blaster! Four packs available. MSRP, $7.49.
  • Zords Assortment: Reenact Mighty Morphin Power Rangers battle scenes from the TV show or movies. Choose from three pairs of Rangers and their Zords. When it’s time to battle, kids can use the Power Pad disc to activate the Zord! MSRP $14.99.
  • Battle Assortment: It’s up to young imaginations to figure out how the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will defeat villains in the battle of the Red Ranger & T-Rex Zord and Goldar & Rita Repulsa (sold separately). Protect the earth with the Dinozord from Rita Repulsa and Goldar’s evil forces. Turn the Imaginext Power Pads to activate battle features in both sets. The battle is sure to be morphenomenal! MSRP $24.99.
  • Morphin Megazord: Unleash the fire power of the Imaginext® Morphin Megazord on Power Rangers villains like the Putty Patrol! Use an Imaginext interactive Power Pad to transform the Megazord, opening his chest, lighting up his eyes, and “morphing” his knee into cannon. Under attack? Push buttons to fire Power Missiles. The adventure continues on back, with a jail cell, a place to meet with Zordon, an elevator – and lots of levels and platforms for figures to stand on. Kids can even place a figure in the Megazord’s head! With so much to do, imagine the adventures your little fans will create (or recreate) for their favorite Power Rangers characters and villains. MSRP $59.99.

We’ll keep you up to date with more information on this exciting new line as it becomes available!

Toy Fair 2015 – Power Rangers Dino Charge T-Rex Feature Zord

Posted on February 14, 2015 at 10:26 am by Chris under Conventions, Power Rangers, Toy Fair

Check out the images of the upcoming Power Rangers Dino Charge T-Rex Feature Zord!

This is the Zord Reveal that was teased in yesterday’s press release from Bandai of America. The T-Rex Feature Zord features electronic sounds and gimmicks very reminiscent of the Transformers Age of Extinction figure Stomp & Chomp Grimlock so that should give you a fair idea of how it functions.

The “packaged” sample on display on the wall above the actual figure has a place holder in the box and is not the actual toy. In fact it’s the DX Bandai of Japan Gabutyra funnily enough. But the larger T-Rex Zord with the handle is what we’re getting.
