SDCC 2018 – Power Rangers in Space Legacy Psycho Silver is Entertainment Earth Exclusive

Posted on June 22, 2018 at 11:00 am by Chris under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

As we enter a brand new age of Power Rangers toys and collectibles we are definitely ending the previous era with a bang! Revealed earlier this morning, a skew of Power Rangers toys are being offered as convention exclusives at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Even more shocking – not all of them are being offered through Bandai America.

The Legacy Psycho Silver figure will be available at San Diego Comic Con at the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343) for $45. You can pre-order any remaining figures from the show by clicking here.

One of the most anticipated wave of figures from Bandai America‘s Legacy 6.5″ collector line is the Psycho Rangers. We had confirmation that the original five (Red, Blue, Black, Pink, Yellow) were being released and as soon as they were, fans began to ask about Psycho Silver. As you recall, the Power Rangers In Space battled valiantly against the Psycho Rangers but always got bested by them until they realized each Psycho is programmed to best fight against the same color. As the Power Rangers lay exhausted, Psycho Silver appears and quickly finishes them off. His arrogance at fighting all the colored Rangers causes infighting amongst the Psychos until Psycho Blue injures his comrades in an attempt to fight the Blue Ranger himself. It is at that point we learn that the Psycho Silver is actually the In Space Silver Ranger, and together with the other Power Rangers In Space, destroy Psycho Blue.

From the official order page:

Entertainment Earth Convention Exclusive! “We’re the Psycho Rangers. We’re faster than you. Smarter than you. Stronger than you. But we’re evil!” From the Power Rangers in Space TV series, comes this Power Rangers in Space Legacy Psycho Silver Ranger Action Figure – Entertainment Earth Exclusive. The evil counterpart of the Silver Ranger from Power Rangers in Space makes his appearance in the Legacy line of highly detailed and articulated action figures from Bandai as this collectible 6 1/2-inch tall figure. With show-accurate styling and premium decoration, there are 21 points of articulation and a muscular, heroic design that’s perfect for play or display! Great for adult collectors and kids alike, the Psycho Silver Ranger comes in premium Legacy packaging.

NOTE: This item will first be sold at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 at the Entertainment Earth booth #2343. If supplies remain after the show, your order will be filled and shipped to you then, in August 2018. We reserve the right to limit quantities ordered.

Order your SDCC 2018 Legacy Psycho Silver figure now.

SDCC 2018 Robot Spirits Obsidian Fury & Gypsy Avenger Premium Color 2-Pack

Posted on May 21, 2018 at 11:05 am by Den-O under Conventions, General Tokusatsu News, San Diego Comic Con

Following up Bluefin Tamashii’s other excellent exclusives for this year’s San Diego Comic Con, they are also teasing an exclusive 2-pack exclusive from Pacific Rim Uprising!

While Bluefin promises more information is coming soon, we can already see from the preview image of this set, that it features re-releases of the popular Robot Spirits Obsidian Fury & Gypsy Avenger. However this go around they appear to be repainted in far more accurate detail, calling back to the Premium Color repaints other Tamashii lines  (like Dragonball) have received over the years.

We don’t have information on the pricing of this set yet, but it will most certainly be available at the Bluefin Brands booth as with their other exclusives, the SOC Black Megazord & Helmetless MMPR Figuarts.

SDCC 2018 Soul Of Chogokin Black Megazord Revealed

Posted on May 21, 2018 at 4:01 am by Den-O under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con, Super Sentai

Surprise! No, this isn’t the recently teased SOC GX-81 release Tamashii Nations has been talking about on Twitter. This year’s con exclusive release is indeed a a Black repaint of the SOC GX-76 Megazord/Daizyujin

Taking a current from Transformers repaints of the same variety, rather than use the usual gold accents we see with Black Megazord & Daizyujin repaints, this one opts for teal accents. Nemesis Megazord am I right?

This release will be exclusively available at San Diego Comic Con 2018, at the Bluefin Brands booth.

SDCC 2018 – Bluefin Tamashii Nations Teases Power Rangers Exclusive

Posted on May 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm by Chris under Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

The Power Rangers continues its 25th anniversary celebration at this year’s annual San Diego Comic Con event. Bluefin Tamashii Nations – known for their stateside release of S.H. Figuarts and most recently the Soul of Chogokin Megazord – have teased their exclusive for this year. A simple image of the Soul of Chogokin Dragonzord standing in front of the Dinozords from Soul of Chogokin Megazord.

The Soul of Chogokin Dragonzord is set to release this August and will combine with the Soul of Chogokin Megazord. The Soul of Chogokin line is akin to a “masterpiece style” release of robotic nature items featuring accurate-to-source-material detail with diecast parts and increased articulation. If the Legacy Dragonzord impressed you, the Soul of Chogokin Dragonzord will blow you away.

We have no details as of yet to what this release will detail. Stay tuned for more details and information as it comes available.

How Power Rangers Failed to Deliver at SDCC 2017

Posted on July 25, 2017 at 1:56 pm by Chris under Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

I had the extreme pleasure of attending San Diego Comic Con 2017. This was my fourth year attending and covering the event for our network and every year by the time you go home you’re left dizzy from everything you’ve just experienced. As the sole representative of TokuNation.com my primary focus is to cover all things tokusatsu related, or in the case of American entertainment, that means Power Rangers.

San Diego Comic Con is the largest pop culture convention in the entire world. The number of attendees ranges upwards of 100,000 guests and anyone who has attended the convention will tell you that is no “generous number” … it’s a reality. And this year whispers are it was the largest convention ever. Literally every major entertainment company, regardless of whether or not they have their own convention earlier or later, brings their A game because this is the one time a year that the entire world is watching in anticipation for what you have to show.

This year the Power Rangers brand failed to not only to capture any of the magic or attention they might have acquired from their major motion picture release earlier this year, they failed to show up at all. Please click “Read More” for our in-depth analysis of why this wasn’t just one of the worst years for Power Rangers at San Diego Comic Con but why it may be the worst ever.
