Let’s Watch Wednesdays All-Stars Poll

Posted on May 14, 2014 at 12:09 am by Den-O under Garo, General Tokusatsu News, Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Have you been following Mahou Sentai Magiranger as a part of the latest Let’s Watch Wednesdays here at TokuNation? You should, but if you haven’t the show and our viewing of it will end one week from tomorrow! So get in on the discussion while you still can. However it’s also time we picked the series for our next Let’s Watch segment! And this time we want to mix things up.

There won’t be any nominations this time around. After digging through the records of previous LWW nominations threads we’ve come up with an all-star list of the toku shows that YOU the community demanded, but that simply never won the polls. These choices are the 10 most frequently requested series that have yet to have a go on Let’s Watch Wednesdays. But now is your chance to make them happen!

 • Kamen Rider Faiz
 • Madan Senki Ryukendo
 • Garo (Season 1)
 • Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan
 • Tensou Sentai Goseiger
 • Ultraman Mebius
 • Kamen Rider Den-O
 • Kamen Rider Black
 • Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger
 • Power Rangers In Space

Make your decision by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to our poll! This poll will remain open for 1 week, until Wednesday May 21st at 11:59 PM. Good luck!

A New Metal Hero Project in the Works?

Posted on May 13, 2014 at 6:37 pm by Kiryu under General Tokusatsu News

It seems that Toei isn’t quite ready to give up on the Metal Heroes brand quite yet.

Board member DrillBit found this quick teaser video from Toei’s official youtube channel that makes mention of crimes related to Makku, Madoo, and Fumma happening on planets across the galaxy. To those new to Metal Heroes: they’re the criminal organizations related to Gavan, Sharivan, and Shaider respectively.

With so little information given, it’s difficult to judge if this project is a new tv show, game, or movie. In the meantime, you can check out the video announcing the project below:

Should Toei go through with a new Metal Heroes project what would you want to see from it or done differently from the two Gavan movies? Discuss in the thread after the jump!

Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog Anniversary Gallery

Posted on May 10, 2014 at 11:02 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News

Did you forget something that happened this week? We may have as well, but Photo & Content contributor conundrum did not. This past Wednesday 05/07/14 marked the 15th anniversary of the final episode of Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog!

For a little history lesson, Mystic Knights was an American/Irish co-production created by Saban Entertainment based loosely on Irish myths and aimed at the same audience that watched such shows as Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and Masked Rider. The show itself only lasted a single 50 episode season as it’s second season, to be titled “Battle Thunder”, had it’s budget allocated to Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. The show however is still special for many fans because of it’s unique take on the genre and the toyline itself is really pretty great and still affordable to collect even today.

If you need to take a trip down memory lane and relive this excellent series then by all means check out conundrum’s latest gallery by clickking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums”. And be sure to check out his previous entries from this series as well:

Hailstorm Catapult
Armored Defender Angus – 7 inch
Armored Defender Rohan – 7 inch

Who knows, maybe one day this series could be released on DVD by Shout Factory the same way other classic Saban franchises have been? Time will tell.
