Just after we revealed their release via a magazine scan, Bandai’s Tamashii Webstore has updated with official images of the forthcoming S.H. MonsterArts Mothra and Battra larvae forms! This special 2-pack is of the monsters as they first appeared in the 1992 film Godzilla vs. Mothra, and retains the impressive size difference between the two. The set also comes with a special silk effect part for Mothra, and the text also mentions a stand (although this is not pictured).
The set is a Tamashii Web Exclusive due for release in June, and can be yours for the price of 10,800 yen. However as is the case with most MonsterArts figures, this is likely to be released in the West via Bluefin Tamashii Nations. We’ll bring you updates on that as they come!

It’s that time again folks! Kamen Rider Blade has ended and we’re sad to see it go, but now it’s time for us to pick up a new show for Let’s Watch Wednesdays!
As always Let’s Watch Wednesdays is intended to get the community together to check out some older tokusatsu they may not have seen before. We ask that each user make only 1 nomination. The 10 nominations with the most users behind them will be featured in a poll to decide the actual series for the segment next week. This nomination thread will be open from today January 15th through Sunday January 19th at 12 Midnight EST. So get your choices in before then.
There are a few other stipulations for nominating any new shows for LWW such as those series which are ineligible. So click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to check them out and get started! We look forward to all of your suggestions!
The last piece of Godzilla 2014 merchandise we stumbled across was the 2″ Lights & Sounds Godzilla mini-figure kit. At first speculated to be fake, Legendary later asked the image be removed, all but confirming it’s legitimacy. Now thanks to the crafty sleuthing of Baltan II, we’ve got our first look at another Godzilla action figure but this time it’s the real deal.
The figure in question is currently speculated to be either a standard Bandai of America release or a large Jakks Pacific figure. Based on the image the tail appears to be jointed, at least in the middle, the shoulders and hips appear to feature articulation to some degree, and it looks like the mouth opens. Without more information to go on than this image, your guess is as good as ours as to what this thing actually is. Stay tuned to TokuNation for further updates of this story, and for all of your Godzilla 2014 Film news!
Edit: Image removed at request of JAKKS Pacific.
Met with heavy speculation at first it appears this first official image of Godzilla 2014 Film toy merchandise might actually be real. Newsouth Books has listed a 2″ Light-Up Godzilla figure kit which includes a 60 year mini-history book of the character. Produced by Running Press, this release is very similar to the type of merchandise the company has often made for book stores and comic & specialty shops relating to such properties as Batman and Doctor Who.
Release date is set for April 2014 at a retail price of $19.99.
So what do you think of this first official piece of Godzilla Movie merchandise? Sound off by clicking “Discuss on the Tokunation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll continue to bring you every piece of Godzilla 2014 news we possibly can as we get closer to the films May 16th, 2014 release date!
NOTE!: There is a LOT of back and forth going on across the Godzilla fandom on whether or not this image is real, partly because of the embargo that Bandai has on revealing the image(s) of the new Godzilla. The product listing is most likely real – a book with a 2″ figure is something specialty retailers love to do and it’s nothing out of the ordinary. The image is what is being called in to question. Until we receive concrete “yes” or concrete “no” on this, we’ll leave the story up and let YOU decide.
UPDATE!: The image attached to the story was taken down by order of Warner Bros. We apologize for the inconvenience.
