We have sadly lost an important figure from Kamen Rider history.

Legendary composer Shunsuke Kikuchi who handled the very first Kamen Rider theme song- Let’s Go! Rider Kick– and many other Rider themes throughout the Showa Era has passed away at 89 years old.

Outside the tokusatsu world, Kinkuchi was a prolific artist- working on several anime themes including DragonBall, Doraemon, Getter Robo and countless others.

Our thoughts are with Shunsuke Kikuchis’ friends and family in this difficult time.

Toei has revealed two new Rider forms for the upcoming Kamen Rider Zero-One film, Kamen Rider Zero-One Others: Kamen Rider Vulcan & Kamen Rider Valkyrie!

This new film takes place after the previous Kamen Rider Zero-One film, with Isamu Fuwa & Yua Yaiba returning to face the final threat of Metsobujinrai.Net.

Kamen Rider Vulcan will abandon the ShotRiser Driver and take up the Zero-One Driver with a new Zetsumerize Key– the Dire Wolf– to become Kamen Rider Vulcan LoneWolf!

Meanwhile, Kamen Rider Valkyrie gains the Serval Tiger Key and activates her new form, Kamen Rider Valkyrie Justice Serval!

Zero-One Others: Vulcan & Valkyrie is currently scheduled for release on November 10 2021.

There are two sets currently available at Premium Bandai USA.

  •  Kamen Rider Gaim – Kurokage & Knuckle Set
    • This set comes with Kamen Rider Kurokage, Kamen Rider Knuckle, but also comes with Kamen Rider Gaim Ichigo Arms and Kamen Rider Gaim Pine Arms!  This is the first official toy released for Ichigo Arms (excluding the ability to create the figure via the Arms Change toys)
    • It also comes with a Genesis Driver so you can make “Kamen Rider Kurokage Shin”, featured in the Kamen Rider Gaim summer movie
  • Kamen Rider Gaim – Bravo & Gridon Set
    • This set comes with Kamen Rider Bravo, Kamen Rider Gridon, Kamen Rider Ryugen Kiwi Arms, and Kamen Rider Baron Mango Arms.  This is the first official toy release of Kamen Rider Ryugen Kiwi Arms (excluding the ability to create the figure via the Arms Change toys).

Kamen Rider Zero-One is being released domestically by Shout! Factory.  The announcement came during the Team Kamen Rider stream with Shout! Factory to kick off the beginning of North America’s week-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of Kamen Rider.

Ari from Shout! Factory stressed patience – this release is not coming next week, next month, or the month after that.  The release will likely occur in 2022.  But Shout! Factory has licensed Kamen Rider Zero-One for DVD and Blu-Ray release in North America.

It was not mentioned whether or not the release would be DVD or Blu-Ray but seeing as Kamen Rider Zero-One was filmed recently and in high quality, Blu-Ray is possible and very likely.

Surprise!

During the Team Kamen Rider panel, Shout! Factory also announced that Kamen Rider Ryuuki will begin streaming on the TokuSHOUTsu service soon!

Kamen Rider Ryuuki is a fan-favorite series during the Heisei era and marks the first series to feature a large number of Kamen Rider characters that end up fighting each other.  The show was also adapted to the United States as Kamen Rider Dragon Knight in 2008.

Stay tuned for when Kamen Rider Ryuuki will begin streaming on TokuSHOUTsu.

Just announced on the Team Kamen Rider panel from Shout! Factory – Kamen Rider Zero-One is coming to TokuSHOUTsu, the all-toku streaming channel from Shout! Factory and Shout! Factory TV.

There is currently no date for when the show will begin streaming – only that the deal was signed and that it *IS* coming!  Kamen Rider Zero-One was the first Kamen Rider of the Reiwa era in Japan.  With it streaming on TokuSHOUTsu, it means the first series of each era is available to watch – for free – on TokuSHOUTsu.

A new streaming project featuring Kamen Rider Genm has been confirmed for the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club featuring the return of CEO Kamen Rider Genm for a new adventure.

This two-part spinoff will be released on April 11 & April 18 2021!

Kamen Rider has announced another major project for its 50th Anniversary!

Legendary filmmaker Hideaki Anno– fresh off Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman will bring his talents to the Rider world for a new project titled Shin Kamen Rider!

Presumably, this release will have no connection to the 1992 film of the same name.

Shin Kamen Rider will be released in 2023!

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Kamen Rider, the Complete Selection Modification series will be going back to the beginning for a special release-

A CSM version of the Typhoon belt used by Kamen Rider 1 has been announced in the latest stage of Rider Week celebration.
