Just over 1 month ago TokuNation.Com began the countdown to January 4th 2017, to mark our official 5 year anniversary!  Check out the lovely commemoration of the day written up by our own Kickback. And as with every year to honor our anniversary, we hosted the massive Toku Toy Box giveaway! Toei has opened an official website for the next SuperHero Taisen film project!

This new movie will be titled Kamen Rider X Super Sentai: Chou Superhero Taisen. The official reveal features Kamen Rider Ex-Aid and the upcoming Uchu Sentai KyuRanger, along with a tagline stating Assemble, the power of every hero!

Chou Superhero Taisen is scheduled for release on March 25, 2017. Sadly, no other information about this new cinematic project is available at time of writing. Stay tuned to TokuNation for further details!

The official TV-Asahi Page for the 41st Super Sentai Series has finally opened, giving us some news about the minds in charge of Uchu Sentai KyuRanger!

*The head director for this series will be Shibasaki Takayuki, a veteran of multiple tokusatsu programs including Kamen Rider Den-O, Kamen Rider W and Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters.

*The main writer for KyuRanger is Nobuhiro Mori! Mori has previously written several episodes of Kamen Rider OOO, Kamen Rider Gaim, Shuriken Sentai Ninninger and Kamen Rider Ghost. This will be Mori’s first series as head writer.

*KyuRangers’ action director is Hirofumi Fukuzawa, former Super Sentai suit actor & currently serving as director for Dobutsu Sentai Zyuohger.

*The opening theme for KyuRanger will be called LUCKY STAR! while the ending theme is named KyuTama Dancing! Sadly, no singers are listed for either at time of writing.

In addition, a basic story outline for Uchu Sentai KyuRanger has also been posted online:

Taking place in the distant future, most of the universe has been dominated by the evil JACK MATTER organization. Warriors are chosen by the KyuTama, powered by the constellations to transform into KyuRangers!

Uchu Sentai KyuRanger is scheduled to begin on February 12, 2017! Stay tuned to TokuNation as we keep you up to date on this exciting new series!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled Holiday for some Uchu Sentai KyuRanger news! New scans have been making the rounds online, we finally now have some faces and names to associate with our heroes, the translations come courtesy of @TheRealMattHunt via twitter. 

Those that will have human face actors are as followed:

  • ShishiRed/Lucky played by Kizu Takumi
  • ChameleonGreen/Hami, portrayed by Ookuba Sakurako
  • KajikiYellow/Spada, portrayed by Sakakihara Tetsuji
  • SasoriOrange/Stinger, played byKishi Yousuke
  • HebitsukaiSilver/Rei Naga played byYamazaki Taiki

And the rest are voiced characters with suit actors:

  • OokamiBlue/Garu,
  • OushiBlack/Champ,
  • WashiPink/Laputa 283
  • TenbinGold/Balance

Currently, there’s still no word on the creative staff, and the actors associated with these characters have yet to be posted. Until then, keep tuned to TokuNation and we’ll bring you more information on this series as it becomes avalaible.

With some new magazine scans now circling the Internet, we have learned a bit more about the heroes of the 41st Super Sentai Series!

Here is what we know so far about the members of Uchu Sentai KyuRanger:

*Shishi Red is said to be “born lucky,” which gives him special guidance in fights. He is called The Very Lucky Greatest Star!
*Ookami Blue is a Jyujin (literally “BeastMan”) who specializes in “wild” combat. He is nicknamed The Space Wolf.
*Oushi Black is a robot, built for wrestling. His title is Raging Bull Wrestler!
*Tenbin Gold is an android nicknamed The Mechaman with the power to control other machines.
*Hebitsuki Silver is an alien with a special power to paralyze opponents- earning him the moniker Psychic Guy.
*Sasori Orange is a veteran warrior who uses poisonous techniques- earning him a reputation as The Stinger Soldier.
*Chameleon Green is a ninja-alien who can change her body colors to hide in plain sight. She is called The Surprise Ninja.
*Washi Pink is an android designed with enhanced speed & flight capabilities, nicknamed The Super Flying Warrior!
*Kajiki Yellow is a chef, and fights chiefly with blade weapons. He’s been labeled The Finishing Move Chef!

All in all a very mixed team- with three humans, three aliens and three robotic Rangers!

The first round of magazine scans for the upcoming 41st Super Sentai Series have been posted online! This gives us our best look yet at the members of Uchu Sentai KyuRanger!

These scans appear to confirm story details we have previously heard- the KyuRangers will protect Earth from an alien invasion using the powerful KyuTama orbs with their SeizaBlaster devices.

The scans also confirm the unique designations for this Super Sentai: KyuRangers will be known as STARS and each Star has a unique attribute:

*Shishi Red is the Super Star, strongest member of the team
*Ookami Blue is the Beast Star, a feral wolf-like alien
*Oushi Black is the Ring Star, largest of all the KyuRangers
*Chameleon Green is the Shinobi Star, moving quickly in secret
*Sasori Orange is the Poison Star, armed with a toxic stinger tail
*Tenbin Gold is the Trick Star, a prankster who loves scolding people
*Hebitsukai Silver is the Silent Star, covered by scales
*Washi Pink is the Speed Star, flying on powerful wings
*Kaijiki Yellow is the Food Star, a tough warrior with an appetite to match

Premium Bandai’s just launched the product page for the Tamashii Lab Zyusouken and with it we have some new details for this release.

The Tamashii Lab Zyusouken measures about 46.5 cm long with both PVC and Diecast used in it’s construction material. Unlike the Legacy Dragon Dagger, this release includes is a unique stand designed specifically for this release, a booklet, and some sort of special message card.

Of course, the Zyusouken will feature sounds from the show along with playing Burai’s theme song though whether or not any of these sounds differ from the Legacy Dragon Dagger wasn’t specified.

Tamashii Lab Zyusouken will be released May 2017 with a price tag of 13,500 yen before middleman fees and overseas shipping.

GATTAI, DINO MISSION!

Bandai’s finally went ahead and released coloured images for the upcoming release of the Super Minipla Daizyujin in all of it’s glory!

The new photos not only gives us a clear look at the individual Guardian Beasts but also confirms that you’ll be able to create the Dino Tanker Mode. Not only that, but the transformation appears to be exactly like how it was in the actual show!

Super Minipla Daizyujin will see release March 2017.

It’s a safe bet to say that a lot of fans are very excited with what they’ve seen so far in the upcoming 41st Super Sentai Uchuu Sentai Kyuuranger. And after a week of some details, grainy pictures, blurry pictures, we now finally have new high resolution Uchuu Sentai Kyuuranger Scans online!

The images show us everything from our nine Rangers to their individual Voyagers to the DX KyurenOh. We also get a look at the arsenal of the Kyuurangers as well as a detailed list of the upcoming collectible gimmick of the series – the KyuTamas – spheres/balls that contain an image of the constellation they represent.
