News about the upcoming 20th Heisei Kamen Rider series Kamen Rider Zi-O continues to drip out on a fairly steady pace, and each bit we receive seems even more exciting than the last!

This latest batch of scans focuses first on the Jikku Driver, the henshin device used by both Kamen Riders in this series. The Driver face spins 360 degrees to transform and was apparently developed after years of research though its true origins are not yet revealed in full.

The Jikku Driver is powered by RiderWatches! These coin-shaped devices are said to contain the powers of previous Kamen Riders- and all the Heisei Riders are shown in RiderWatch form!

By inserting the RiderWatch into the JikkuDriver, a Rider gains new Rider Armor with unique abilities!

*Kamen Rider Zi-O’s first RiderArmor form uses the Kamen Rider Build RiderWatch- creating Kamen Rider Zi-O Build Armor!
*Kamen Rider Gates starts off with the Kamen Rider Ghost RiderWatch- granting the power of Kamen Rider Gates Ghost Armor!

In addition to visiting past Kamen Riders, this series will also resurrect VILLAINS from Rider history! Kamen Rider Zi-O is seen facing off against Lord Baron from Kamen Rider Gaim.

The world will get its first proper look at Kamen Rider Zi-O during the Kamen Rider Build: BE THE ONE movie- premiering in theaters on August 4 2018! Stay tuned to TokuNation as we keep you up to date on this remarkable new Rider series!

In case you were let down by the S.H.Figuarts version of the Manga Ultraman character, Bandai may have an alternative for you with the recently revealed Figure-Rise Standard Ultraman B-Type model kit.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the Figure-Rise Standard series: it’s a line of model kits that you build and sticker yourself ala Gundam or Minipla. The Figure-Rise Standard kits covers characters that are outside of the Gundam franchise, in the past we’ve seen a handful of Kamen Riders and Dragon Ball characters done up in this line. Figure Rise Standard Ultraman B Type is 1/12 scale so it shouldn’t look too badly when standing next to your S.H.Figuarts collection.

Accessories with this kit will include optional hand parts, effect parts, a big cannon, and an LED light that can switch from blue to red. All of this can be yours for 4500 yen and will see a release in November 2018.

“Wake Up! Cross-Z Dragon!”

Ryuga Banjou has been through the ringer the last few years. A former boxer, Banjou has been framed for murder, lost the love of his life, become a Kamen Rider, and then there’s that stretch with the evil alien trying to take destroy the world. Today’s gallery takes us back to Banjou’s beginnings, when he was still learning what it meant to be a hero. S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Cross-Z is here!

Cross-Z is Banjou’s first outing in the Figuarts toyline with his 2nd form, Cross-Z Charge, releasing this week as well. Cross-Z though, is a really great repaint & remold of the basic Build Rabbit/Tank Form with a few dynamic changes that go a long way to selling it as a brawler form. While there are admittedly some minor issues with articulation, the figure looks wonderful in hand and the included Beat Crosser is the perfect accessory for it.

In a surprising announcement for the rapidly-winding-down Kamen Rider Build series, a new Rider Form has been unveiled!

Fan-favorite supporting character Kamen Rider Grease will abandon the now-obsolete Sclash Driver and combine a Build Driver with the newly-completed Blizzard Knuckle to transform into Kamen Rider Grease Blizzard! This blue repaint of Greases’ original suit includes a Robot SMASH arm as main weapon, granting Grease the power to stand against Evolto in the final battles.

But Kamen Rider Grease may not be the ONLY Build Rider receiving a last-minute change! The same scans also hint at a new form for Kamen Rider Mad Rogue to be revealed in an as-yet-unannounced Hyper Battle Video.

The 20th and final Heisei Era Kamen Rider is coming closer every day, and we continue to learn more about this new hero: the King of Time, Kamen Rider Zi-O!

In the first magazine scans published for this new series, we get to see Zi-O’s arsenal and special attacks from the Zikan Gilade in Sword and Gun configurations. We also get a close look at Kamen Rider Zi-O’s motorcycle- the Ride Striker! Some early teasers for Zi-O’s time travel powers are included, with brief glimpses of the Cretaceous Era and the Edo Period.

As an extra bonus, this scan gives us our best look yet at the second Rider- Kamen Rider Gates! This character is said to arrive from the year 2068 and uses the same Driver as Zi-O.

Each characters’ RIDER KICK attacks are detailed in full: Kamen Rider Zi-O uses the Time Break while Kamen Rider Gates’ is known as Time Burst! Both Rider suits bear the katakana for KICK on the underside of their boots.

For years upon years, the S.H. Figuarts line of figures from Bandai Japan have been considered the ultimate visual form of our favorite spandex-clad superheroes from Japan. Featuring heavy articulation, show-accurate paint and details, as well as a variety of weapons and accessories, you really cannot beat a S.H. Figuart in terms of feeling you have a “complete” figure. Then something called “Rider Kick Figures“, or RKF, emerged recently.

Bandai Japan would like to appeal to those who cannot always afford a solid $50 for a figure.

Releasing in September is the brand new action figure line “Rider Kick Figures” which literally, and I quote, has the catchphrase “It’s cheap and it moves!”. Consider our interests piqued. The first figure to release will be Kamen Rider Build in his Rabbit/Tank form. Following his release will be Kamen Rider Cross-Z and Kamen Rider Grease (shown in pictures attached to the article), and announced or teased figures include Kamen Rider Zi-O, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, Kamen Rider Evolt, and Kamen Rider Build Dragon/Rabbit form.

For those of you who want to collect figures but cannot afford the price of S.H. Figuarts, or are simply annoyed at the constant influx of Premium Bandai releases, the Rider Kick Figures may be for you. Check out all the in-hand images by clicking the title of the story.

This year is certainly shaping up to be the year of Gridman.

In case you missed it, an awesome new candy toy set of Gridman & God Zenon was announced by Bandai just a few hours ago. Thanks to a new pre-order link that just went up on P-Bandai we can now confirm that this set does indeed belong to the Super Minipla line here’s the latest on Super Minipla Gridman and God Zenon Set!

Pre-Orders for the Super Minipla Gridman & God Zenon set will open up July 26, 2018 and will ship sometime in November 2018 the whole package will cost 6,480 yen before shipping and middleman fees apply.

A new article at CinemaToday has revealed some important details about the upcoming 20th and FINAL Heisei Kamen Rider project- Kamen Rider Zi-O!

First up, a brief story synopsis has been revealed under the tagline Rejoice-for the birth of a new King!


It is the fall of year 2018, when a time machine appears before the protagonist born in 2000.

A mysterious girl emerges from the time machine, telling this protagonist “I come from the year 2068- a future where a demonic king reigns and makes his people suffer, creating a hopeless world.”

The girl who came to 2018 is desperate to change the future, stating- “it is YOU who will become the demon that destroys the world- The King Of Time, Zi-O!”

Just what is the fate of the future?!

This is the story of the Kamen Rider who will fight to save the past, present AND future- fighting across time while encountering the past Heisei Riders across the course of history.

In addition, several members of the production crew have been announced:

*The head writer for this series is Kento Shimoyama who previously wrote for several Super Sentai series including Tensou Sentai Goseiger and Shuriken Sentai Ninninger.
*Zi-O’s director is Ryuta Tasaki a veteran of multiple Kamen Rider projects including Kamen Rider W, Kamen Rider Den-O, & Kamen Rider Drive.
*Producer duties will be shared between Shinichiro Shirakura and Naomi Takebe, both long-time TV-Asahi tokusatsu veterans.

The full cast & crew for Kamen Rider Zi-O will be revealed during a press conference on August 7 2018! Stay tuned to TokuNation between now & then as we keep you up to date on this remarkable new Rider!

ACCESS CODE: GRIDMAN!

The lead up to the release of the SSSS Gridman anime series is sure to result in a surge of new original Gridman merchandise, and that wave has already kicked off with the reveal of new Gridman & God Zenon candy toy figures! Though the watermark shows that the figures will be released under Bandai’s Shokugan label, it is currently unconfirmed whether these figures are SHODO, Super Minipla or an entirely new line of toys.

The articulated Gridman figure features a selection of alternate hands and his Plasma Blade, while God Zenon can be separated into its Thunder Jet, Twin Driller and God Tank components (the Twin Driller also includes Gridman’s Barrier Shield). Of course, these vehicles can also combine together with Gridman to form the mighty Thunder Gridman!

We’ll bring you more information on these exciting new toys as its released. But in the meantime, check out the full selection of images after the jump!

As we approach the premiere of Kamen Rider Zi-O in September, we’re continuing to see more and more images of the toyline for the upcoming show. Today brings us a look at this year’s main “gimmick” line with the first wave of RKF (Rider Kicks Figures). 

RKF looks to be a general action figure line rather than one truly driven by a gimmick as in years past. The line is composed of characters from across the Heisei Era and will also be featuring power up armors for Kamen Rider’s Zi-O & Gates. The first wave of releases is dominated by Kamen RIder Build characters including; Build (Rabbit/Tank), Cross-Z, Grease, Evol (Cobra), and the Be The One film exclusive form Cross-Z Build (Rabbit/Dragon).

Cross-Z is listed with a 2160 yen price point and October release date, while Evol & Cross-Z Build each bare a 2700 yen price point with November release dates. The first wave of 6 RKF figures are all up for pre-order at HLJ currently. These pre-orders include Ex-Aid Level 2 who isn’t shown in these initial scans.
