S.H. Figuarts SDCC Armored Black Ranger Gallery

Posted on September 3, 2014 at 2:31 am by Den-O under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con, Super Sentai

San Diego Comic-Con 2014 has come and gone, the TokuNation.com crew had a great time at the show, and of course we had to share a souvenir or two with you. So up today is our final entry (for now) in the long list of Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger/Mighty Morphin Power Ranger’s galleries we’ve worked on for the last year. Today we look at the 2014 Exclusive SDCC Armored Black Ranger!

A unique product of the “Zyu2” footage created for MMPR season 1, Armored Black Ranger is a very unique toy as well. This figure shares the honor of being one of only two truly US exclusive MMPR related figuarts released here, along with the female bodied Yellow Ranger. Created in response to the demands of the US market Armored Black Ranger is a fantastic release that continues the tradition of quality and excellence that the Zyuranger/MMPR line of S.H. Figuarts releases has had from the beginning. Likely the last releases in this particular franchise of figures, Armored Black Ranger ends it in style. This awesome yet briefly seen form from the finale of MMPR season 1 “An Oyster Stew” is incredibly satisfying to finally own. If you have the chance to pick this figure up, we highly recommend it.

To check out the full 60 image gallery of this fantastic release, just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. And while you’re at it, take a stroll down memory lane with us too! Let’s Watch Wednesdays Week 13 Kamen Rider Den-O 34-36

Posted on September 3, 2014 at 2:03 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

Kamen Rider Den-O has pulled back into the station for another round of Let’s Watch Wednesdays @ Tokunation!

Memories are time. As long as people hold onto them, the time erased by Imagin can be restored. Even the people lost can return. But if no one remembers you, you fall through the cracks of time ,travelling until you are remembered. The Sakurai Yuuto of the future has returned with more cards, forcing the young Yuuto to become Zeronos once more, and dooming him to fall through the cracks of time. Now Ryutaro’s determination to be stronger is greater than ever. To keep Yuuto from needing to transform and destroy more memories of his life, something greater must be created. Ryutaro will use his own power, Den-Liner, and the 4 Imagin to create Liner Form!

Den-O Trivia #13
We told you about the voice of Deneb, but now we’re looking at the man behind everyone’s favorite Imagin, Momtaros! Momotaros is brought to life by legendary voice actor Toshihiko Seki! Though his list of previous toku credits is primarily bit roles (Chameleon Nejire in Megaranger, Zebra Fangire in the Kiva Movie) Seki has been prolific as an anime actor.

His credits include: Rau Le Creuset in Gundam SEED, Duo Maxwell in Gundam Wing, Legato in Trigun, Iruka Umino in Naruto, and many other roles that span his nearly 30 year acting career. Mr. Seki has continued to voice the role of Momotaros since Den-O’s TV series began, even continuing the role all the way to this years Hesei Vs. Showa Featuring Super Sentai film! And it looks like there’s no end to this role in sight!

S.H. Figuarts Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger Gallery

Posted on September 1, 2014 at 2:51 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

It’s Morphin Time!

Checking one more off the list for MMPR/Zyuranger releases today we’ve got the S.H. Figuarts MMPR Yellow Ranger (female body) gallery! This figure was recently released exclusively by Bluefin to western markets. Likewise in Japan S.H. Figuarts Tiger Ranger was recently released as an exclusive. Catering to two different markets these differing releases of this figure have some unique traits. Here in the US the footage of Tiger Ranger, or rather the original Yellow Ranger, lined up with a female character. And as such a new female version of the figure was created for release in this market!

Created for and by the demand of the US market, S.H. Figuarts Yellow Ranger is the first truly unique release we’ve gotten since the Zyuranger/MMPR series of releases got under way! As the final piece to complete your team of original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers you will not be disappointed. Whether you think of Yellow Ranger as Trini or Aisha it will finish off a team of rangers a couple years in the making, and the accessories included with her will FINALLY complete the incredible Power Cannon! Maybe some of you will even feel the need to double dip ad get the male and female figure like I did? You totally should.

To check out our full gallery of Yellow ranger click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. And if you’d like to see how Yellow stacks up to the original release of this figure, check out our S.H. Figuarts Tiger Ranger Gallery as well! And rounding out the Zyu/MMPR love we have one final gallery for you coming up this week. The long awaited exclusive SDCC Armored Black Ranger!!

Power Rangers Turns 21 Today!

Posted on August 28, 2014 at 1:18 am by Den-O under Power Rangers

On this day, August 28th 1993, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers made their incredible debut on US airwaves! And 21 years later, the franchise is still a booming success story with no stop in sight. Though the Power Rangers have gone through numerous iterations, transitions, actors, rangers, zords, enemies, movies, seasons, ups, downs, and everything else in between, it stands out as one of the most recognizable and marketable brands out there. With consistently strong toy sales, TV ratings, and a growing fan base of both old and brand new fans, is it any wonder Power Rangers has become the international success it is today?

Take some time out of your day today to celebrate Power Rangers coming of age for it’s 21st birthday. Share with us some of your favorite moments from the franchise. Perhaps a favorite battle, a specific character you love, maybe even just a great costume design or piece of music. Anything goes for this discussion! If you’re on social media jumping in on things, be sure to use the hashtag #PowerRangers21 and make sure your special moment is seen and shared by as many people as possible!

Power Rangers has never been stronger, and it’s all because of the fanbase it’s sustained over the last 21 years. From Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to Power Rangers Dino Charge and beyond! Let’s continue to make it successful whether it’s for another 21 years or another 100. Live the legacy!

Let’s Watch Wednesdays Week 12 Kamen Rider Den-O 31-33

Posted on August 27, 2014 at 8:59 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

TokuNation is back with another exciting climax in Kamen Rider Den-O for Let’s Watch Wednesdays!

As Yuuto continues to struggle with the final Zeronos Card, their secret is revealed. Airi can’t remember any version of the Sakurai Yuuto she once loved.  Because every time one of Zeronos‘ cards is used something incredibly important is lost, memories of Sakurai Yuuto! Each card contains a memory someone else has of him. And a new line has appeared in time twisted and mangled, this line doesn’t connect to Den-Liner, yet. But its tremors are being felt across time. No one will know that better than Hana. Could this line cross into her destroyed time? Where does it lead to, the future? Or the past?

Den-O Trivia #12

You may have noticed something big changed this week. And that’s Hana’s actress! For reasons we’ll find out later within the shows plot, Hana has regressed in age to that of a child. Some of you may even have noticed that Hana’s original actress, Yuriko Shiratori, last appeared in episode 30. After Ore Tanjou her involvement began to decline somewhat but she abruptly left the show at episode 30. So you’ll notice the ignorance of her absence by the shows plot.

In the real world what happened was Yuriko Shiratori became very over worked while doing the show and she’s said to have exited the franchise because of health problems related to this. Other reports have variously claimed over the years that she was injured filming a stunt for the show and refused to return because of it. Whatever the case may be she left the show and never returned. Which may be a big missed opportunity for the young actress as Den-O went on to become the longest lasting franchise in Kamen Rider and by far one of the most successful. But her replacement Tamaki Matsumoto stuck with it as Kohana for years, all the way into the Cho Den-O Trilogy!

Gaim’s Final Villain, Kamen Rider Jam Revealed!

Posted on August 26, 2014 at 1:18 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Despite Kamen Rider Gaim’s imminent ending in just 5 short weeks, it seems the show has one final surprise to throw at us! The actual, for real this time, one true villain of the series is revealed! Kamen Rider Jam!

The Jam suit is very clearly a reuse of the design shared by Kamen Rider Kamuro & Mars from Gaim’s summer film, with some major differences in color and accents. He also appears to be sporting a purple version of Gaim’s Daidaimaru. The Jam Lock Seed, unnamed at the time of this writing, very clearly resembles the Gold & Silver Ringo locks of the movie riders as well.

Click “Discuss on the TokuNation forums at the bottom of this post to be taken to our discussion thread with possible spoilers for the identity of this character. It’s currently unconfirmed, but indicators are pointing straight to the one person it could be.

S.H. Figuarts Tiger Ranger Gallery

Posted on August 25, 2014 at 2:53 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Dino Buckler!

It’s time folks! The final S.H. Figuarts release from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger is here! Recently released as a Tamashii Web Exclusive in Japan, today we’re looking at S.H. Figuarts Tiger Ranger!

Tiger Ranger is the final member to be released to complete your team of Zyurangers or Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and man does this figure pack a punch! Included with Boi are of course the trade mark weapons he needs like his Saber Daggers. But also thrown in there is the final piece to complete the mighty Howling Cannon AKA the Power Blaster from MMPR! As another excellent release based around the Zyuranger body, S.H. Figuarts Tiger Ranger is the perfect final addition to any Zyuranger or Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Collection.

There’s also a female bodied version of this figure just released by Bluefin as the original MMPR Yellow Ranger for North American markets. So there hasn’t been a release of this actual Tiger Ranger figure seen here in domestic markets outside Japan. As is this guy is starting to fetch a pretty penny on the secondary market so if you’d rather own this version you may want to look sooner than later. And if you’re interested to see the female bodied Yellow Ranger we’ll have a gallery of it coming up later this week as well!

For now if you’d like to check out a 70 image gallery of S.H. Figuarts Tiger Ranger then click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken right to the thread!

Chara Hobby 2014: S.H. Figuarts Lemon Energy Baron On Display

Posted on August 24, 2014 at 4:09 pm by Den-O under Conventions, Kamen Rider, Other Conventions

Revealed just a few days ago, we have our first prototype images of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Baron Lemon Energy Arms! This figure will be released as a Tamashii Nations 2014 exclusive, retailing for 5000 yen at the show this fall.

However don’t be too worried about trying to get this figure. In years past Tamashii Nations show exclusives have been made available to order on the Tamashii Web Exclusive Store at a later date. Previous examples being Ryuki Blank Form & Den-O Super Climax. So there’s probably a good chance this will be available for order there.

For now check out the images after the jump!
