Power Rangers at Toy Fair 2014 Community News Round Up

Posted on February 18, 2014 at 9:15 pm by Chris under Conventions, Power Rangers, Toy Fair

Toy Fair 2014 is winding down to a close. With that, there was a lot of news coming out from not only our coverage of Power Rangers, but also our friends Fury Diamond of SamuraiCast Blog and @trekkieb47 on Twitter. This news post should work as a comprehensive listing of all the news that came out for Power Rangers over the last couple of days. Enjoy!

– TokuNation.com’s Booth Coverage of Bandai of America

TokuNation.com was the first in the WORLD to bring you all the brand new images and news regarding a lot of the new Power Rangers merchandise coming out later this year. Fans salivated at the first images of the all new toy Legacy Titanus, geared towards collectors and, of course, able to combine with the Legacy Megazord and Legacy Dragonzord. We also caught glimpse of, arguably, one of the most anticipated figures out of the Super Megaforce toy line – the Armored Might Silver Ranger figure, which uses the Gold Mode Armor version of the figure. The official name of that mode for Power Rangers has yet to be revealed (though staff here has money on it being called “Super Mega Mode” or “Legendary Mode”). We also saw the upcoming 5″ Legacy Power Rangers figures, including some surprises – Titanium Ranger, Lunar Wolf Ranger, and Gold Zeo Ranger. If you haven’t already, click here and check out all 150+ images that we took of the Bandai booth!

Our good friend Fury Diamond of Samurai Cast Blog was also in attendance and took a video of his booth tour from that day. You’ve seen the pictures, now see what a booth tour is actually like!

– TokuNation.com’s Booth Coverage of Megabloks Power Rangers

Aside from Bandai of America, the other big showing for Power Rangers was Megabloks, showing off their latest and upcoming assortments for their Power Rangers Super Megaforce line. In our gallery we saw on-hand images of the Legendary Megazord, the Q-Rex Megazord, the individual zords that make up the Legendary Megazord (including an impressive looking Sky Ship build), as well as seeing some Legendary Power Rangers make their debut in the Megabloks line. Click here to see our Megabloks Power Rangers gallery!

Once again, our good friend Fury Diamond was also in attendance and took video of his time at Megabloks. If videos are more your thing, you’ll enjoy the video below! Check it out!

Finally, on Monday Bandai of America held a Collector’s Event. While your only way to see the booth prior was through scheduled appointments, the Collector’s Event allowed larger groups of individuals to take the same tour in a group, getting their chance to see first-hand the same images that we’ve shown you earlier in the news post. Our good friend and host of the Power Rangers podcast RangerCommandPH, Eric, @RangerCommandPH on Twitter, took video of his experience. Check it out below!

Last but not least, the company Loyal Subjects has some Mighty Morphin Power Rangers themed items coming out soon. Check out the previews of their upcoming items by clicking here to see our gallery!

And as for the text-based side of the news, our own Sentai Tamashii learned a few tidbits about this year’s Power Rangers selection as well as the future of things like Legacy Items, Tokumei Sentai GoBusters, and Fury Diamond was able to get some detailed answers as well! They are listed below for you!

– Legacy items will continue in 2015 and be brand new items
– Legacy Titanus will retail for $200 (confirmed by Fury Diamond, reported long ago by raz)
– Tokumei Sentai GoBusters was skipped in favor of adapting Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger due to an overall lack of profitability of the GoBusters line in Japan
– There are only 60 Ranger Keys planned for retail release in Power Rangers Super Megaforce (Fury Diamond)
– Additional Ranger Keys can and most likely will be offered through future conventions (San Diego Comic Con, Power Morphicon)

That should just about do it! We need to give out some very special thanks to individuals who gave up a lot of free time to attend Toy Fair 2014 and provide you with all the news and information above. For starters, special thanks as always to our network administrators Tony_Bacala and Joe Moore, and HissTank.com administrator DESTRO. A special shout out to our very own Sentai Tamashii for giving up some family time to head to the show to help cover for not only us, but our sister site ToyArk.com as well. We’d also like to thank Fury Diamond of Samurai Cast Blog as well as Eric of the @RangerCommandPH podcast for the hard work and money they spent to be able to cover the show.

So are you ready for some new Power Rangers? Join our discussion already well-in-progress!

Kamen Rider Gaim Episode 15 Poll and Discussion

Posted on January 27, 2014 at 11:00 am by Chris under Kamen Rider

It seems that every single week you think this show is done being awesome and will have a normal, filler-like episode that we’ve all grown accustomed to. However, Kamen Rider Gaim continues to deliver breath-taking episodes that blow our minds and raise the stakes every single time. And Episode 15, “The Man Who Developed the Belts”, is no different than any of the previous episodes – except that it’s full of awesome, even more so than the previous episode!

There’s not really anything we can say that will not spoil the episode. Setting an all new record for “that was the fastest sub in history”, Aesir Subs already has the episode ready for you to check out. Do so, and then join our episode discussion and vote on what you thought of the episode! Beware of spoilers in the thread, so avoid it if you haven’t seen it or don’t want to be spoiled yet.

Once you have seen the episode though, join in the discussion of what this episode revealed, and what do you think is in store for our heroes. And of course, that amazing preview for Episode 16 that will surely be the next significant story point in this already excellent season of Kamen Rider. To the stage!

New Ranger Keys Listed for Power Rangers Super Megaforce

Posted on January 27, 2014 at 2:27 am by Chris under Power Rangers

Thanks to our good friend and forum member raz, we have learned of some new Power Rangers Super Megaforce Key packs set to release in February, from a listing at ToyWiz.com!

The following key packs are again set to release in February 2014. Case assortments are unknown at this time but it’s safe to assume that some of the first wave key packs will be phased out, so you’d better pick them up soon if you don’t want to miss your chance at them!

– Power Rangers Turbo Key Pack (Red, Green, Blue)
– Power Rangers In Space Key Pack (Red, Blue, Black)
– Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Key Pack (Red, Black, Blue)
– Power Rangers Ninja Storm Key Pack (Red, Yellow, Blue)
– Power Rangers SPD Key Pack (Red, Blue, Green, listed as “Ninja Storm Rangers”)
– Power Rangers Zeo Key Pack (Red, Green, Blue)
– Power Rangers Time Force Key Pack (Red, Blue, Green)
– Power Rangers Super Megaforce Key Pack (Metallic Red, Yellow, Pink)

Of note, particularly for those awaiting female Ranger Keys, there is a total of THREE listed – Ninja Storm Blue, and Super Megaforce Yellow and Pink. Curiously, during the Bandai UK Toy Fair 2014 images, we saw Power Rangers Zeo Yellow Ranger Key shown with Red and Blue. Whether this was an error or the UK is getting different key packs is purely speculation and, sadly, most likely an error.

Thanks again to raz for the heads up. For more detailed Power Rangers Super Megaforce toy information, including day to day, hour by hour updates, check out his blog on Tumblr! Are you going to pick up these key packs? What keys are you still hoping/waiting for? Let us know!

Talkin Toku at the Nation Podcast Episode 004 – The Longest Hiatus – Released!

Posted on January 26, 2014 at 12:00 pm by Chris under TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

It’s a new year and thus it’s the first new episode of Talkin Toku at the Nation for 2014! Your hosts Kickback, Den-O, and Sentai Tamashii return from their holiday hiatus (the longest hiatus!) to talk about everything that happened over the break! In this episode, you’ll learn how Den-O received the nickname Cease and Desist Jordan, our thoughts regarding how Bandai of America is handling the release of female Ranger Keys in the toy line of Power Rangers Super Megaforce, how we think Tamashii Nations/Bluefin Tamashii Nations should handle their future releases of S.H. Figuarts for Super Sentai/Power Rangers, the new story-arch for Kamen Rider Gaim, and Sentai Tamashii ruins the Peach Energy Lock Seed, as well as Kamen Rider Den-O, for everyone for the rest of their lives.

SPOILERS ALERT! If you haven’t watched Kamen Rider Gaim through Episode 13, you should probably skip the part about the episode. Don’t worry, we give you some buffer time before we dive right in (even though Den-O tries a few times to start the Gaim conversation early). SPECIAL NOTE! Talkin Toku at the Nation is best listened to with headphones! If you don’t get the joke at the start of the episode … put on some headphones, you’ll hear the weird noise and it’ll make sense then. Power Rangers Super Megaforce Deluxe Hand Gear First Images

Posted on January 25, 2014 at 12:16 am by Chris under Power Rangers

Thanks to Fury Diamond of Samuraicast Blog, we’ve been taken to a link on Amazon.com which shows us the first official images of the Power Rangers Super Megaforce Deluxe Hand Gear roleplay item! It comes with two gauntlet-styled gloves, the Alien Red Ranger key, and some blue coin-like discs!

What makes this thing so much fun is that you basically have a disc launcher gauntlet that, when you turn the Alien Red Ranger Key, fires off the discs! Bad guys, unsuspecting friends, and pets beware – you’re about to have some Legendary Discs coming at you! What do you think? Sound off in our Super Megaforce toy thread, linked to this post!
