It’s a great week to be a Power Rangers fan, and our friends at the Official Power Morphicon convention have made your August something you will never forget! On top of the earlier announcement of Zyuranger’s Geki appearing at this year’s show, they have also updated their guest list with more Power Rangers and folks involved with Power Rangers! Check out this list below and try to clean up all the foam coming out of your mouth!

  • Jorge Vargas Jr. (“Blake”, Ninja Storm Navy Thunder Ranger)
  • Kimberly Crossman (“Lauren”, Super Samurai Red Ranger #2)
  • Ann Austen (Writer/Producer for Mighty Morphin, Zeo, Turbo, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, and Masked Rider)
  • Takahiro Kikuchi (Fujiyama Ichiban)
  • Yumie Yamagiwa (“Margaret” from Fujiyama Ichiban)
  • Yuuki Luna Yamagiwa (“Sakura” from Fujiyama Ichiban)

Unfortunately, there’s some sad news to announce as well – another cancellation.  No word yet on how this effects the pricing and such of the Power Rangers Wild Force Photo Op that had been announced by the cast.

NO LONGER ATTENDING
  • Alyson Kiperman (Wild Force Yellow Ranger)

Zyuranger Meets Mighty Morphin at Power Morphicon

Posted on July 21, 2014 at 12:36 pm by Chris under Conventions, Kamen Rider, Power Morphicon, Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Today was one of the biggest announcements yet for this year’s Official Power Morphicon convention. Promising an unbelievable announcement for today’s guest revealing was an understatement – fans of Power Rangers and Super Sentai now have a reason to come together.

Headlining today’s guest announcement is Yuuta Mochizuki, better known as Geki the Tyranno Ranger from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, the series that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was adapted from. Basically, the original Red Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Tyranno Ranger from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger will be appearing at a convention together for possibly the first and only time.

Also from the press release sent directly from the Official Power Morphicon convention comes the announcement that Hiroshi Maeda, a professional Japanese stunt actor, will be appearing at the show. You’ll know him best as the stunt actor for Tyranno Ranger in Zyuranger, as well as numerous other Red Rangers for the Power Rangers franchise. And last but not least – Yasuhiro Takeuchi, another Japanese stunt actor who played both Dragon Ranger in Zyuranger as well as the Green Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. On top of that, he has also worn many of the Megazord suits for filming.

The Official Power Morphicon convention happens August 22nd to August 24th at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California. Tickets are still available (but only for a couple of more weeks) – click here to begin your registration process so you don’t miss out!

Please read the full press release after the jump!

Talkin Toku Episode 13 Released – Why Not Zoidberg?

Posted on July 9, 2014 at 2:31 pm by Chris under Conventions, Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

It’s time to talk some toku with the latest release from the Talkin Toku Podcast – Episode 013 “Why Not Zoidberg?”. Join Kickback, Den-O, special guest hosts baltmatrix and MonkieRanger, as well as two more “surprise” guests as they attempt to talk Kamen Rider Gaim, Power Rangers Dino Charge, and San Diego Comic Con 2014 news and rumors (which have all been debunked as of this morning, hooray!).

Find out what’s going on with all the Zoidberg talk as the gang discusses how to make Power Rangers Dino Charge the best series of all time. There’s an Arms Change missing from Kamen Rider Gaim – and the crew thinks Bill Cosby can fill that void. The gang spends a lot of time discussing the details of the plot of Kamen Rider Gaim leading up to and including Episode 35.

But with a grand total of six hosts on the show at once? You know it’s just going to fall apart. And fall apart it does – but in a way that guarantees you’ll be laughing. Be on the look out for a special video commemorating this episode to be released VERY soon! Take a listen! Stick around till the end for bloopers and things that we cut from the show but decided to include at the end.

News from Tamashii Nations Panel at Anime Expo 2014 – FiguartsZERO Lord Zedd

Posted on July 7, 2014 at 1:45 am by Chris under Conventions, Other Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

They teased. They toyed with our emotions. For a couple of years now, Bluefin Tamashii Nations have teased us that they could do a Lord Zedd figure, either as a S.H. Figuarts or a FiguartsZERO. After teasing us that they could, they teased that they had something they were working on. But then time passed by. Over a year after teasing that something was in the works, at Anime Expo this past weekend, they finally delivered on their tease. During a panel regarding current and upcoming projects, a blurry image of Lord Zedd with his iconic throne was shown with the tag FiguartsZERO.

It would appear that all that waiting has finally paid off. After showing the blurry image, they later announced on their Facebook page that everything shown at the panel would most likely be shown in person at this year’s upcoming San Diego Comic Con. Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered there (our full coverage begins Tuesday, July 22nd … or basically just about 2 weeks away). Here’s a run down on the news from the panel that pertains to Power Rangers!

  • FiguartsZERO Lord Zedd – more details to come, could be shown at SDCC 2014
  • S.H. Figuarts of other Power Rangers teams – they stated that Bandai doesn’t think there’s currently a series that has an overwhelming demand.  They want to see an overwhelming demand for a series before they could begin working on it.  They’ve asked that we please spam their Facebook page with requests for one of three series – Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers In Space, or Power Rangers Time Force.  Doing so will show Bandai that there’s an overwhelming demand and they can move forward.

This is apparently the year of Lord Zedd!  First he gets a Legacy figure, and now he is apparently getting a FiguartsZERO as well. So let’s talk about it #RangerNation! Is a FiguartsZERO Lord Zedd a must-buy for you? Is it a wait and see? Join in the discussion! Don’t forget to keep your browsers tuned right here for our coverage of this year’s San Diego Comic Con – pictures, videos, interviews, and so much more!
