Talkin Toku Episode 006 – You Got Berryd – Released!

Posted on March 19, 2014 at 2:37 pm by Chris under Conventions, Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Not content with making their listeners wait another month for an episode, Kickback and Den-O pushed forward through busy schedules and an absent Sentai Tamashii to record an episode of Talkin Toku – The TokuNation Podcast! But how do you fill the void of Sentai Tamashii? You bring in popular Power Rangers fan and enthusiast Eric (@trekkieb47 on Twitter, host of the @RangerCommandPH podcast) to talk some toku! The hilarity started early, it was constant, and never really went away. We can’t really stress just how much we laughed making this episode and all the pieces that went in to it.

Join hosts Chris, Jordan, and Eric as they discuss conventions – LexCon, San Diego Comic Con, and Power Morphicon – and some of the celebrities that they’ve run in to outside of the typical convention atmosphere. The conversation quickly changes to Tasting the Trainbow with recent developments on Ressha Sentai ToQGer, discussing what we like and do not like about the show thus far. Things go from happy rainbows to facepalms as the crew dips down in to the depths of Power Rangers Super Megaforce, focusing on the episode “A Lion’s Alliance”, and pretty much lose their focus and composure as they discuss all the things wrong with the show. An attempt at Kamen Rider Gaim discussion is made, but Power Rangers Super Megaforce sneaks back in as soon as someone mentions the phrase “new powers”.

And you can’t forget – the new catcphase “you got berryd” – takes over the group throughout the episode. Please be sure to ”Like” TokuNation on Facebook and to follow us @TokuNation on Twitter. And for the diehard fans of our podcast, you can ”Like” our official Talkin Toku Facebook Page as well as following us @TalkinToku on Twitter where you can talk to us directly on Twitter. Check out our good pal Eric on Twitter @trekkieb47, and be sure to follow the Ranger Command Power Hour Podcast on Twitter @RangerCommandPH, and of course, listen to their show every other Saturday at the Four Eyed Radio Network by simply clicking here! Listen all the way through till the end for two bonus clips at the end of the episode!!!

Jason David Frank’s My Morphin Life Episode 2 Released

Posted on March 19, 2014 at 2:18 am by Chris under Conventions, Other Conventions, Power Rangers

On the heels of this year’s LexCon, arguably the most popular Power Ranger of all time, Jason David Frank who played the Green Ranger and White Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the Red Ranger in both Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers Turbo, as well as the Black Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Thunder, has released the second episode of his self-created reality show titled My Morphin Life.  The video is below.

This episode features what many of us have come to known as convention burnout and convention hangover, where the crowds and the excitement literally drain every bit of energy from your body.  Follow Jason David Frank as he attempts to survive LexCon 2013.  This video features interviews with other former Power Rangers about Jason David Frank, including Walter Jones, Blake Foster (who is credited as his character’s name instead of his actual name), Catherine Sutherland, Karan Ashley, and the always lovable Jason Narvy.  Click on the discussion link to share your thoughts about the episode!

Power Morphicon Updates – Second Hotel, New Guests Announced

Posted on March 10, 2014 at 6:17 pm by Chris under Conventions, Power Morphicon

If you’re a Power Rangers fan then you have OBVIOUSLY heard of the official Power Rangers convention titled “Power Morphicon”.  And if you haven’t, now is your chance to find out all the great things about this popular convention!  For starters – it’s a convention for Power Rangers and features the biggest guest line up of any show in the world in terms of Power Rangers, Masked Rider, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, and Big Bad Beetleborgs … basically all your favorite (and maybe not so favorite) Saban shows from the 90’s!

The hotel connected to the convention center – the Sheraton Pasadena – is now sold out!  Luckily, down the street there is the Westin Pasadena with a flat room rate no matter the size of the room you need.  Having stayed at both hotels in the past, you won’t be disappointed!  There was also a ton of new guests announced – the entire core group of 5 for Power Rangers SPD will be in attendance for example.  If you’re a Power Rangers fan, you don’t want to miss this show!

Power Morphicon is happening August 22nd through the 24th at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California.  For details on all the special guests, the rules of the show, and to keep up with all the latest announcements, head to WWW.OFFICIALPOWERMORPHICON.COM!  We hope to see you at the show!

Talkin Toku Episode 005 – Super Mega Episode – Released!

Posted on February 28, 2014 at 1:45 pm by Chris under Conventions, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, Toy Fair

After the release of Episode 04, “The Longest Hiatus”, the hosts of Talkin Toku at the Nation vowed to never let such a long hiatus happen again. And then Kickback’s computer blew up, and an unintentional delay occured – creating the new longest hiatus. To make up for it we’re bringing you an episode crammed full of discussion on the things you want to hear us talk about! After being challenged by a listener and a good friend, there is no dedicated talk to Kamen Rider Gaim in this episode. That’s right – NO JUICY FRUIT. Instead, we focus on the bigger items that occured … Toy Fair 2014 with Sentai Tamashii, who was there and provided a ton of the information and images that we put up! We spend the most time discussing Power Rangers Super Megaforce and its first episode premiere – and end the show tasting the trainbow with discussion on the premiere episode of Ressha Sentai ToQGer! Here’s a more specific run down!

  • Kickback’s computer woes
  • A News Brief to touch on a few items we didn’t have time to discuss in full
  • Sentai Tamashii’s first hand experience of Toy Fair 2014
  • Why Sentai Tamashii can’t be allowed to attend conventions anymore
  • Power Rangers Dino Charge and the skipping of Tokumei Sentai GoBusters
  • Our thoughts on the premiere of Power Rangers Super Megaforce
  • Our thoughts on the use of the suits of Gosei Sentai DaiRanger
  • Tasting the Trainbow with Ressha Sentai ToQGer’s Premiere
  • An inappropriate conclusion involving Super Mega, Sentai Tamashii, and his wife

Power Rangers at Toy Fair 2014 Community News Round Up

Posted on February 18, 2014 at 9:15 pm by Chris under Conventions, Power Rangers, Toy Fair

Toy Fair 2014 is winding down to a close. With that, there was a lot of news coming out from not only our coverage of Power Rangers, but also our friends Fury Diamond of SamuraiCast Blog and @trekkieb47 on Twitter. This news post should work as a comprehensive listing of all the news that came out for Power Rangers over the last couple of days. Enjoy!

– TokuNation.com’s Booth Coverage of Bandai of America

TokuNation.com was the first in the WORLD to bring you all the brand new images and news regarding a lot of the new Power Rangers merchandise coming out later this year. Fans salivated at the first images of the all new toy Legacy Titanus, geared towards collectors and, of course, able to combine with the Legacy Megazord and Legacy Dragonzord. We also caught glimpse of, arguably, one of the most anticipated figures out of the Super Megaforce toy line – the Armored Might Silver Ranger figure, which uses the Gold Mode Armor version of the figure. The official name of that mode for Power Rangers has yet to be revealed (though staff here has money on it being called “Super Mega Mode” or “Legendary Mode”). We also saw the upcoming 5″ Legacy Power Rangers figures, including some surprises – Titanium Ranger, Lunar Wolf Ranger, and Gold Zeo Ranger. If you haven’t already, click here and check out all 150+ images that we took of the Bandai booth!

Our good friend Fury Diamond of Samurai Cast Blog was also in attendance and took a video of his booth tour from that day. You’ve seen the pictures, now see what a booth tour is actually like!

– TokuNation.com’s Booth Coverage of Megabloks Power Rangers

Aside from Bandai of America, the other big showing for Power Rangers was Megabloks, showing off their latest and upcoming assortments for their Power Rangers Super Megaforce line. In our gallery we saw on-hand images of the Legendary Megazord, the Q-Rex Megazord, the individual zords that make up the Legendary Megazord (including an impressive looking Sky Ship build), as well as seeing some Legendary Power Rangers make their debut in the Megabloks line. Click here to see our Megabloks Power Rangers gallery!

Once again, our good friend Fury Diamond was also in attendance and took video of his time at Megabloks. If videos are more your thing, you’ll enjoy the video below! Check it out!

Finally, on Monday Bandai of America held a Collector’s Event. While your only way to see the booth prior was through scheduled appointments, the Collector’s Event allowed larger groups of individuals to take the same tour in a group, getting their chance to see first-hand the same images that we’ve shown you earlier in the news post. Our good friend and host of the Power Rangers podcast RangerCommandPH, Eric, @RangerCommandPH on Twitter, took video of his experience. Check it out below!

Last but not least, the company Loyal Subjects has some Mighty Morphin Power Rangers themed items coming out soon. Check out the previews of their upcoming items by clicking here to see our gallery!

And as for the text-based side of the news, our own Sentai Tamashii learned a few tidbits about this year’s Power Rangers selection as well as the future of things like Legacy Items, Tokumei Sentai GoBusters, and Fury Diamond was able to get some detailed answers as well! They are listed below for you!

– Legacy items will continue in 2015 and be brand new items
– Legacy Titanus will retail for $200 (confirmed by Fury Diamond, reported long ago by raz)
– Tokumei Sentai GoBusters was skipped in favor of adapting Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger due to an overall lack of profitability of the GoBusters line in Japan
– There are only 60 Ranger Keys planned for retail release in Power Rangers Super Megaforce (Fury Diamond)
– Additional Ranger Keys can and most likely will be offered through future conventions (San Diego Comic Con, Power Morphicon)

That should just about do it! We need to give out some very special thanks to individuals who gave up a lot of free time to attend Toy Fair 2014 and provide you with all the news and information above. For starters, special thanks as always to our network administrators Tony_Bacala and Joe Moore, and HissTank.com administrator DESTRO. A special shout out to our very own Sentai Tamashii for giving up some family time to head to the show to help cover for not only us, but our sister site ToyArk.com as well. We’d also like to thank Fury Diamond of Samurai Cast Blog as well as Eric of the @RangerCommandPH podcast for the hard work and money they spent to be able to cover the show.

So are you ready for some new Power Rangers? Join our discussion already well-in-progress!

Toy Fair 2014 – Network Roundup

Posted on February 18, 2014 at 12:32 pm by Tony_Bacala under Toy Fair

The TFW2005, HissTank, Toyark and TokuNation crew is back from Toy Fair 2014 and we’ve rounded up all our links to pictures and info from the show that went up over the last 3 days. We go fast and hard at Toy Fair – in the last 3 days across the 4 sites, we posted 125 stories on over 50 different companies. Within those 125 stories, we’ve uploaded and shared over 5,000 images. Close to real time, high resolution images, straight from the show. That can be a little much to take in if you are just popping in today back at work or school. So, check out the links below for all the sites and catch up on the brands you like. We will have a couple more posts this week related to Toy Fair, some things we missed and some highlight posts. But this is the raw uncut plastic crack for the next year. Enjoy.
