Talkin Toku Episode 009 – Attack of the No No Cat

Posted on May 8, 2014 at 12:07 pm by Chris under Conventions, Godzilla, Kamen Rider, Power Morphicon, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

The boys of the Talkin Toku Podcast are back at it with the release of their 9th episode, Attack of the No No Cat (blame Tom for that one). Join your hosts Kickback (Chris, @rankal), Den-O (Jordan, @DenO_Tokunation), and Sentai Tamashii (Tom, @SoulInkChu) as they touch on a number of topics from last week in the world of tokusatsu!

Some of the hot topics discussed – their reactions on the international trailer for the new Godzilla movie, their thoughts on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic from Free Comic Book Day and just why Saban Brands did nothing to promote it (as well as some behind-the-scenes knowledge in the world of comics from our very own Sentai Tamashii, who works a freelance colorist and has done jobs for Marvel, DC, IDW Publishing, and Archie Comics), some good old fashioned toy talk with Kachidoki Arms and S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold, and the usual show talk of Kamen Rider Gaim and Ressha Sentai ToQGer. But there’s even more stuff that’s discussed throughout the episode, including the No No Cat, spooky haunted microphones and/or alien contact, follow up on our last toy debate on Tamashii Nations and Super Sentai Figuarts, and so much more. Take a listen below!

Kickback also discusses the Fruit Henshin Contest and some details of the upcoming crossover episode with our good friends from the Ranger Command Power Hour Podcast scheduled for later this month. All the show details are below – do us a favor and click “Discuss” and share your thoughts! Till next time!

Posted on April 24, 2014 at 5:26 am by ZeoRangerV under Godzilla

Hot on the heels of their first-reveal magazine scans, the final Tamashii web exclusive releases for September are a pair of accessory sets for the S.H. MonsterArts line – one providing some brand new effect parts, and the other adding some brand new special weapons machines to battle the monsters.

First up is Effects Set 2, priced at 2916 yen. Included here two new beam attacks (one with an explosion at the end of it), a heat wave effect for Tamashii stage bases, a cracked ground stand for the effects and finally four scaled buildings.

Meanwhile Super Special Weapons Set 2 includes the Super X3 from Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, four Maser Guns, four Maser Beam Tanks, three Maser Attack Aircraft, Tamashii stage and two scaled buildings. This set costs a slightly higher 3240 yen.

S.H. Monsterarts Godzilla Accessory Sets for September

Posted on April 23, 2014 at 11:00 am by Den-O under Godzilla

Courtesy of 2chan, we’ve got images of new S.H. Monsterarts Godzilla accessory sets!  One is solely for effects parts, including a blast with an explosion at the end of it and what looks to be another redeco of the existing Godzilla breath effect. The other is all about G-Force, which even seems to include the Super X-III from, from Godzilla vs. Destoroyah.

Both are set for a September release! 2916 yen for Corresponding Effects 2, 3240 yen for Super Weapon Effects 2.

NECA Godzilla 2014 12″ (Head To Tail) Figure Images

Posted on April 4, 2014 at 2:24 pm by Den-O under Godzilla

After seeing some prototypes in the last month NECA has finally unveiled their 2014 Godzilla in all it’s glory!

This beast is about 6″ tall measured from head to foot, and 12″ long from head to tail. This formidable beast is the first really nice representation of the character we’ve seen so far in toy form. Featuring 25 points of articulation including a bendable tail this bad boy looks to be the figure to beat until the eventual S.H. Monsterart is released!

Check out all the images of Godzilla by clicking “Discuss on The TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post! And don’t forget that Godzilla destroys theaters on May 16th!

Godzilla 2014 Halloween Costumes Official Images

Posted on April 3, 2014 at 11:29 am by Den-O under Godzilla

Undoubtedly the one franchise that seems to pump out the most movie inspired Halloween costumes in recent years, has been Transformers. But it looks like they’re about to be joined by Godzilla in that department. Just revealed via official images from Warner Bros. Consumer Products is the Godzilla 2014 Costume & “Transforming” Godzilla Hoodie.

The Godzilla Costumes, by Rubies, include a rubber/latex mask and a spandex body suit. They come in both child and adult sizes. The hoodie features a”transforming” feature allowing you to zip the hood fully closed around your head to create a Godzilla “mask’.

Thanks to Godzilla Movies for providing the images.
