More Kamen Rider Drive scans reveal Shift Car Powers

Posted on September 27, 2014 at 1:59 pm by KamenRiderOOO under Kamen Rider

With the end of Gaim near, time for us to take a shift into Drive territory! From this scan, we can see the abilities of two more of Drive’s Shift Cars, Dream Vegas and Massive Monster!

Dream Vegas (originally believed to be Dream Pegasus), gives Drive a Slot Machine themed Tire, arming him with two giant poker chips that he can use as cymbal-like weapons. Massive Monster gives Drive a Monster Truck themed Tire, arming him with a large monster-like clamp weapon akin to the Kyoryuger’s Deinosgrander or ToQ4’s Alligator Safari Ressha.

After a year of the odd yet awesome fruit motif of Gaim, it seems that Drive is taking a turn into some interesting territory! Are you ready to join the ride? What could other powers could the Shift Cars give Drive?! Stay tuned and find out!

ToQGer Magazine Scans Reveal Hyper Ressha Tei-Oh!

Posted on September 27, 2014 at 8:26 am by Paladin under Super Sentai

A new round of magazine scans are now online! At last we get to see the headquarters of the Rainbow Line!

The massive Hyper Ressha serves as a rest station (called the Hyper Terminal) for the other Resshas and is also the home of the Rainbow Line President, who wears a costume similar to Conductor & Ticket- except with a gigantic bunny head. The President’s story is not yet revealed in full.

Hyper Ressha transforms into a super-powerful Mecha form, Hyper Ressha TeiOh! This massive Ressha towers over the other combos & has a powerful arsenal strong enough to take on any Shadow creature.

What other new adventures could be coming down the line for ToQGer? Stay tuned to TokuNation as we keep you up to date on the Rainbow Line!

Kamen Rider Gaim Celebration – Day Two – The Nut Bros.

Posted on September 26, 2014 at 7:25 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

The end of Kamen Rider Gaim is fast approaching – and at TokuNation.com we’ve chosen to celebrate this very popular series with a send off spanning nine total days looking at every single Rider from the show and movie! Stay tuned because at any time we can announce a contest on our twitter account (@TokuNation)!

It is now day two of our celebration and we thought it would be fun to celebrate a group of Riders that, because of their Lock Seeds, have been dubbed in some circles as the Nut Bros.. They would be Kamen Rider Kurokage, Kamen Rider Gridon, and of course, Kamen Rider Knuckle. And while the “bros” part is more appropriately given to Kurokage and Gridon for their relationship at the start of the series, it also felt worthy to include Knuckle in the group as well.

Please click “Read More” to see our entire article on these three popular Riders! But of course be warned – there are major SPOILERS in doing so, as we look at their history throughout the show and in toy form. So join us as we look at our Nut Bros. – Kamen Rider Kurokage, Kamen Rider Gridon, and Kamen Rider Knuckle!

Kamen Rider Gaim Celebration – Day One – Movie Riders

Posted on September 25, 2014 at 10:41 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider, Uncategorized

For the first official day of celebration we are taking a look at the movie riders of Kamen Rider Gaim! These are the Riders that appeared only in movies (and maybe showed up in an episode to tie in to the movies). Over the course of three movies there have been some exclusive riders (most notably the Kamen Rider Gaim Summer Movie). And while a majority of us wait for a release of the summer movie on DVD, the other two movies are available and we’ve experienced them.

Please click “Read More” to take a look at the movie riders – namely Bujin Gaim, Kamen Rider Fifteen, Kamen Rider Kurokage Shin, Kamen Rider Kamuro, and Kamen Rider Mars (with a brief extension to Kamen Rider Jam). Join us because for nine days the stage is ours! Henshin!

Note – if you haven’t seen these movies, there are spoilers in our “Read More” section! If you haven’t seen the movies, or read up on the movies, then you probably don’t want to click “Read More”. But you know you want to. It’s a celebration after all!

MillionFold Curiosity FanSubs Releases OhRanger Episodes 1 thru 8

Posted on September 25, 2014 at 9:54 pm by Chris under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Before it was known as Power Rangers Zeo it was Cho-Riki Sentai OhRanger, a series designed to pay homage to old military shows and featured every series head writer for the previous Super Sentai seasons as contributors to the scripts of OhRanger. Sadly, the Aum Shinrikyo terrorist cult attacked the Japanese subway system, releasing tear gas that killed 15 individuals and injured another 30. Their leader’s thoughts closely aligned to what OhRanger‘s story line was intended to be (an ancient civilization giving super powers to people of today) and the show’s direction was scrapped and the series re-written, becoming one of the least successful and least popular Super Sentai shows of its time.

But thanks to Millionfold Curiosity FanSubs, and the ever popular translator MegaAnon, the series Cho-Riki Sentai OhRanger is now being subtitled and released to fans around the world. This is an incredibly excellent chance to catch a series that, as far as I know, was either never subtitled in its entirety or was long ago and has since been lost (or it was just a bad sub/bad quality video).

Click here to go to MillionFold Curiosity FanSub’s release of Cho-Riki Sentai OhRanger! And be sure to discuss your thoughts on this show (which changed themes due to the terrorist attack somewhere around Episode 8 or Episode 9) on our discussion thread linked to this post!

Kamen Rider Drive Scans Reveal Machin Chaser Character & Drive Pit Location

Posted on September 25, 2014 at 3:20 pm by Paladin under Kamen Rider

The latest issue of Telvi-Kun Magazine includes several new scans for Kamen Rider Drive! These magazine images give us our first look at Drive’s rival character, Machin Chaser – a mysterious purple warrior who transforms for combat using a weapon called the Break Gunner. Machin Chaser is presumably connected to the Roimyudo monsters that fight Kamen Rider Drive but the full story of this new character is not yet known.

The scans do provide some more close looks at the Roimyudo creatures, including the monster forms of the main villains Brain & Heart. Apparently the Roimyudo will have a type of evolutionary chain- beginning in human form, then changing to a basic monster form & potentially evolving further as they develop new powers.

In addition these magazine scans have revealed Kamen Rider Drive’s headquarters- the Drive Pit! Located beneath a driving school, the Pit will be Trideron’s storage location & presumably a testing ground for Drive’s abilities.

Last but certainly not least we also get some more Shift Car combat details! Kamen Rider Drive is seen using the Shift Dimension Cab to create portals and attack from a distance, while the Spin Mixer Shift Car lets Drive fire concrete bullets at enemies.

Kamen Rider Drive premieres October 5th! Stay tuned to TokuNation until then as we keep you up to date on this new hero!

Kamen Rider Gaim Celebration – Nine Days of Juicy – Retrospectives, Galleries, Give Aways

Posted on September 24, 2014 at 4:35 pm by Chris under Contests and Giveaways, Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

This weekend one of the most popular toku series of all time will come to an end – Kamen Rider Gaim is coming to an end with the airing of its final episode, “Transform! And to the Future!”, the 47th and final installment of this beloved series. It’s popularity has spawned one of the most successful merchandise toy lines (in both the Arms Change figures as well as the DX Lock Seeds and Sengoku & Genesis Drivers) in Kamen Rider history, and helped gain a slew of fans to the franchise that are either new or had stopped watching Kamen Rider thanks to the love it/hate it series of Kamen Rider W and Kamen Rider Fourze.

Kamen Rider Gaim has been an incredibly popular series here at TokuNation.com, as our discussion threads of each episode have grown larger and larger each week as fans have registered to share their thoughts on each episode. And this weekend they will do it one last time (until the summer movie is released!). While our wallets cry as we continue to buy up all the Kamen Rider Gaim merchandise (who has got their S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kachidoki Arms yet?!?) we figured it was only fitting to give this series a proper send off here with Nine Days of Juicy, the Kamen Rider Gaim Celebration!

Over the course of the next nine days, starting on Thursday, September 25th, we will be posting an in-depth retrospective of all the Beat Riders, Armored Riders, and Energy Riders. Our celebration will end on Friday, October 3rd, right before the premiere of Kamen Rider Drive, the next installment of the Kamen Rider franchise. But what good is a celebration if the party has no party favors?

As we get close to the end of the celebration, followers of the TokuNation twitter account (@TokuNation on Twitter) will have a chance to win two S.H. Figuarts of characters from Kamen Rider Gaim! If you haven’t followed us on Twitter then you’d better hurry – our give away requires you to be a follower of our twitter account and to also re-tweet the give away tweet! Watch for it!

We hope you’ve enjoyed Kamen Rider Gaim as much as we have. So let’s give it one heck of a send-off by celebrating everything about the show – the good, the bad, and the simply confusing stuff! HENSHIN!!!!!

Let’s Watch Wednesdays Week 15 Kamen Rider Den-O 40-42

Posted on September 18, 2014 at 4:07 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

“Take Care of Deneb.”

Let’s Watch Wednesdays returns to Kamen Rider Den-O but with the loss of one of our heroes. In case you haven’t noticed we’re rocking a Thursday Edition this week. Techincal difficulties on my end being to blame. But we’ll be back to normal next week.

Yuuto paid the ultimate price when his past self was erased from time. Or so it would seem. The Zeronos cards aren’t all bad after all. While the memories of a person disappear, they are protected from the ravages of time. But with no more green cards left, Yuuto must now resort to the red cards and an even greater price must be paid as well. The memories Yuuto’s made in the present will now cease to be. His past no longer exists, and now neither does his present, nor would it seem does his future. But one thing is certain, Zeronos Zero Form is a power to be reckoned with!

Den-O Trivia #15
It’s time to see if you were paying attention again! This week the show changed up something most people skip right past, the opening! That’s right, the usual rendition of Climax Jump you’re used to was replaced this week by Climax Jump Den-Liner Form. A rendition of the song sung by our lovable Imagin! Episode 40 is the first instance where the opening theme changes and the first where clips from the episode you’re about to watch are inserted into the montage.

Of course this isn’t the only alternate version of Climax Jump out there. In fact when Climax Jump was released as a Single there were 5 versions of the song just on that disc. But there are multiple other versions of the song each tied to a particular form of Den-O as well as several more official remixes of it. I actually know of at least 12 more versions of the song out there, bringing the total close to 20, all of which I have of course.

Let’s Watch Wednesdays Week 14 Kamen Rider Den-O 37-39

Posted on September 10, 2014 at 9:58 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Kamen Rider Den-O is approaching it’s final stop with Let’s Watch Wednesdays! As we approach the end, here’s where we stand.

With the debut of Liner Form things should be headed the right direction. Wrong. It seems Ryutaros was originally sent back in time to kill Ryutaro! And the one who sent him was someone from the Imagin’s future, Kai. But Ryutaros stands with his friends, so Kai sets his sights on Yuuto! In an effort to erase Yuuto from time, Kai will send an Imagin to his past. Will he succeed? Can Kamen Rider Zeronos be erased forever? Find out now.

Den-O Trivia 14
Did you notice something familiar this week? You may not have immediately recognized them but they’re there. Notice that Kai’s right hand man in his first appearances is the Leo Imagin. Leo has 3 underlings with him, the Leo Soldiers. Take a good look at their suits. Stll don’t see it? Those are in fact 3 Zectrooper suits from Kamen Rider Kabuto!

As is often the case in tokusatsu productions costumes are rehashed, reused, and canibalized for the sake of whatever the current production is. The Zectrooper suits were no different. These rider like characters were seen in large groups in Kabuto so it seems Toei could spare 3 suits to retrofit for Den-O. With their antennae removed, bug eyes covered in gold jewels, and the armor parts of their suits painted in gold it’s not surprising most people have never noticed this.
