INSTALL, MEGARANGER!

Well, it’s certainly beginning to look like the year of Megaranger as we have a double whammy of toy reveals. Not to be outdone by the Super Sentai Artisan Degitaizer & Battleraizer shown previously, but Super Minipla will also be diving into Denji Sentai Megaranger. We have our first look at Super Minipla Galaxy Mega & Delta Mega in grey prototype form.  While not much about these kits are known, we can only assume that they’ll retain full transformation from their DX counterparts and the ability to combine into a little Super Galaxy Mega.

At the moment, no release date or price was given but stay tuned to Tokunation and we’ll be sure to provide you updates as they become available.

under Kamen Rider

It’s that time of year again folks! Kamen Rider Build is sadly drawing to a close, and as we say our farewells a new hero rises to take his place: Kamen Rider Zi-O who was revealed earlier in the week.

Not long after the reveal, our first toy catalog scans are beginning to surface online thanks to Twitter user @Tokullector and translations from @SpecialForm12

A few things worth noting from the translations:

  • Kamen Rider Zi-O’s belt is called the Jikku Driver
  • The second Rider shown previously is called Kamen Rider Gates
  • The form changes are called ArmorTime, both Gates and Zi-O uses RideWatches to activate these forms.
  • Kamen Rider Zi-O has ArmorTimes based on Build and Ex-Aid while Gates will use forms based on Ghost and Drive.
  • Zi-O’s default sidearm is called the JikanGrade and will have both a sword and gun mode.

Do note that what we are seeing are scans for the Gashapon toys, we’ll be seeing scans for the DX stuff in the next few days. In the meantime, stay tuned to Tokunation and we’ll provide you more updates as they become available.

Bandai Japan has put up an official product page for the next entry in the Super Sentai Artisan line!

The Degitaizer & Battleraizer set from Denji Sentai MegaRanger has been recreated in exquisite detail! A video preview for this release has been included for full effect:

This set is priced at 12500 Yen before shipping and handling! These MegaReal Artisan items are currently scheduled for release in November 2018!

Entertainment Weekly has posted the first image for the upcoming 2019 Legendary Pictures film- Godzilla: King Of The Monsters!

Director Michael Dougherty gives some insight into this film, a sequel to 2014’s “Godzilla” release-


“The world is reacting to Godzilla in the same way we would react to any other terrifying incident, in that we are overreacting,” says Dougherty, whose previous credits include the horror movie Krampus. Godzilla hasn’t been seen since that destructive finale, “but there’s paranoia and endless speculation about whether he is the only one out there or whether we’re threatened by others like his kind.”

In addition, it seems Godzilla might not be the ONLY Kaiju in this story!


King of the Monsters makes it enormously clear that there are other big beasts, notably the three-headed King Ghidorah, the giant insect Mothra, and another flying monster, Rodan, who in the original Japanese movies could create hurricane-force winds.

“Rodan’s been kind of a sidekick character, but I’ve always had a soft spot for him” says Dougherty. “In a lot of ways he’s more powerful than Godzilla. He’s like this winged A-bomb. I think we’ve done him justice.” But let’s not forget Godzilla himself, who reveals he has the ability to exhale “atomic breath.” Can Dougherty expand on that description? “Not without giving away too much,” he laughs. “But it takes place at a very key moment and it’s a sort of call to arms.”

“Install, Megaranger!”

In a surprise reveal, the next pair of Super Sentai Artisan releases has just been unearthed! Via @erasuterism on Twitter we have the first official images of the Degitaizer & Battleraizer from Denji Sentai Megaranger! 

This impressive set recreates both devices to the finest details including the Battleraizer’s cradle. But more importantly this pair has an incredible new feature billed as “voice recognition”, there’s a BGM mode to play music from the show, and there are numerous lines of show dialogue built in.  We don’t currently have release details or pricing but as soon as we do, most likely when the page for the set goes live, we’ll be sure to update you.

under Kamen Rider

We have a better look at the suit of the upcoming Kamen Rider Zi-O! As an anniversary season it does seem that Kamen Rider Zi-O will be utilizing past Riders/Legend Riders as part of the power up motif.

A second form is also present although at the time of this post we are unsure if it is a second Kamen Rider or if this is a different form (think A.M. vs P.M.). We won’t have to wait too much longer for more information so stay tuned for more news on Kamen Rider Zi-O!

The first image from the forth-quarter Super Sentai merchandising catalog has surfaced online, giving fans a quick look at the further adventures of Kaitou Sentai LupinRanger vs Keisatsu Sentai PatRanger!

Three new items are revealed in this catalog scan-

*First up is the DX Lupin Magnum! This new blaster weapon for the LupinRangers also transforms into a humanoid figure for combat.

*Next is the VS Vehicle Siren Striker! A new riot-officer based Vehicle for the PatRangers allowing for a more powerful Mecha combo- the Siren PatKaiser!

*Last but certainly not least is the Victory Striker! This airliner-based Vehicle gives the LupinRangers their strongest Mecha yet- Victory LupinKaiser!

This year one of the biggest things for the Power Rangers brand has been both what BOOM! Studios continues to put out with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comics as well as the Twitch.TV Power Rangers HyperForce series. At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, BOOM! Studios is celebrating both of those things with these awesome exclusives!

First up is the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 28 Psycho Green Ranger cover. You can purchase this as a bundle with the exclusive Power Rangers In Space Legacy Psycho Green Ranger figure. NOTE! The Legacy Psycho Green Ranger figure is limited to 1500 pieces so good luck!

Second, we have an exclusive Power Rangers HyperForce cover for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue 29. This features the team, helmetless, taking in a moment under a starry sky drawn by Jordan Gibson. This, as the previous Power Rangers HyperForce cover, is going to be a quick sell!

Finally, we have new lapel push pins exclusives! You can grab your Mighty Morphin Green Ranger pin, Ranger Slayer pin, Gravezord Pin, Lord Drakkon both in Evolution I form as well as Evolution II form. These are designed by Lucas Werneck and are guaranteed to be hot sellers.

IT’S MORPHIN TIME!

A plethora of new Funko Pop vinyl figures from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers  was revealed today, and as you might’ve guessed from the title: these new Pop vinyls are the massive Dino Ultrazord, Tigerzord, along with a group of villains: Lord Zedd, Rita Repulsa, Pudgy Pig, and Pumpkin Rapper taking center stage. 

According to our friends at PowerRangersNow, Pudgy Pig, and Pumpkin Rapper will be sold as GameStop exclusives while Rita and Zedd will be sold in a two pack exclusive to Books-A-Million

Meanwhile, the large-scale Dino Ultrazord Funko will be exclusive to Target, and the Tigerzord will only be sold at Hot Topic. Finally, we have a set of helmetless Mighty Morphin Power Rangers team these six are the only ones that will be released at mass retail.

Blood Stalk sees the return of the well received mold created for Night Rogue with a few key changes to give Stalk his trademark Cobra theme. As ever this mold is nicely poseable and full of personality. But it’s the accessories that really sell it. Thanks to a full compliment of hands, a functional Transteam Rifle, and some new Steam Effect parts. This mold will undoubtedly return at least a third time for Mad Rogue and I eagerly await it!
