Former Mighty Morphin Power Rangers stunt coordinator Jeff Pruitt has shared a new video highlighting his work experience on the show.

This latest video features Japanese raw footage (unfortunately with no sound and VHS-quality) which the stunt team would view every working day in order to coordinate the American footage with these action scenes. Observant fans may notice several differences between the footage Jeff Pruitt has uploaded and the episodes aired.

Teenagers With Attitude Fan Film Released

Posted on September 21, 2014 at 11:45 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

One of the coolest things to come out of the entire Power Rangers fandom over the years is that the kids who grew up watching it are now old enough to begin producing their own work – and a lot of them are! Introducing “Teenagers With Attitude”, a self-funded fan film reboot of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, but done in a more modern and (in some cases) realistic setting in regards to the teenagers themselves.

This fan film was written by, directed by, shot by, and edited by Cisco Davis Jr. Check it out below!

I think you’ll agree this was one heck of a fun show. Here’s to hoping Cisco will release a follow up because that is one hell of a teaser at the end! Sound off in the comments your thoughts on Teenagers With Attitude!

Dragonzord vs. Megazord by Marcelo Matere and Tom Chu

Posted on September 10, 2014 at 1:15 pm by Chris under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

Back at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, I contacted a good, old friend of mine from my days in the Transformers community from working for a decade at our sister site TFW2005.COM. His name is Marcelo Matere, and if you are, or were, a Transformers fan then you’ve seen his work – whether it be in comic books from both Dreamwave and IDW Publishing, to official box art work for Hasbro and their Transformers product. Knowing he has tremendous skill in drawing anything robotic in nature, I commissioned from him a Power Rangers piece – the Dragonzord fighting the original Megazord. Using nothing but pictures of toys for references, he hit the project out of the park! I wasn’t the only one who was impressed – even Bandai of America was impressed with his artwork.

In case you don’t remember the original story with the actual sketch – you can find it by clicking here.

We are incredibly pleased and proud to reveal the final version of this beautiful piece of artwork colored by comic book colorist Tom Chu, who has worked on various projects for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, IDW Publishing, and Archie Comics, as well as independent comics and official products for major toy companies. You may recognize his name from our very own Talkin Toku Podcast which he co-hosts, as well as being one of our administrators here at TokuNation.com under the name Sentai Tamashii, or even on Twitter as @SoulInkChu.

I think you will agree with us that this is one of the most impressive pieces of artwork for the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers that we’ve ever seen. And we are beyond excited to share with you in future updates higher resolution versions of this image (minus our watermark) for use as wallpapers and other such things.

Please take a moment and follow these incredibly talented individuals and show their work some love. And, if you happen to want something awesome drawn for you or colored for you, please don’t be shy in asking them about their commission prices. I can personally guarantee that you won’t be disappointed in their work!!

Power Rangers Turns 21 Today!

Posted on August 28, 2014 at 1:18 am by Den-O under Power Rangers

On this day, August 28th 1993, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers made their incredible debut on US airwaves! And 21 years later, the franchise is still a booming success story with no stop in sight. Though the Power Rangers have gone through numerous iterations, transitions, actors, rangers, zords, enemies, movies, seasons, ups, downs, and everything else in between, it stands out as one of the most recognizable and marketable brands out there. With consistently strong toy sales, TV ratings, and a growing fan base of both old and brand new fans, is it any wonder Power Rangers has become the international success it is today?

Take some time out of your day today to celebrate Power Rangers coming of age for it’s 21st birthday. Share with us some of your favorite moments from the franchise. Perhaps a favorite battle, a specific character you love, maybe even just a great costume design or piece of music. Anything goes for this discussion! If you’re on social media jumping in on things, be sure to use the hashtag #PowerRangers21 and make sure your special moment is seen and shared by as many people as possible!

Power Rangers has never been stronger, and it’s all because of the fanbase it’s sustained over the last 21 years. From Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to Power Rangers Dino Charge and beyond! Let’s continue to make it successful whether it’s for another 21 years or another 100. Live the legacy!
