S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Garren Broken Head Official Images

Posted on August 18, 2015 at 3:29 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Just announced a few days ago, we now have official images for the upcoming S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Garren Broken Head Version!

As speculated Broken Garren features a bit of a toned down color scheme, opting for more of a burnt red than a bright magenta. It does of course feature the new Broken “battle damaged” head. But surprisingly this figure also features a battle damaged chest! Garren also includes several sets of additional hands, his trademark sidearm the Garren Rouzer, and his Rouze Cards in splayed out form as an effect piece for the Rouzer.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Garren Broken Head Version will be released as a Toei Hero Net Exclusive figure in January and retails for 6156 yen.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Garren Broken Head Ver Announced

Posted on August 14, 2015 at 11:07 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

In a surprising turn of events (not really) Bandai has found at least one more way to milk a little money out of Kamen Rider Blade fans. Revealed thanks to Shishioh we have confirmation of an upcoming Toei Hero Net Exclusive figuart!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Garren Broken Head Ver. is set for release in January 2016 for 6156 yen. Though there are no images of this release currently, we can expect to see them very soon. It obviously follows on from the Blade Broken Head release so it will likely feature a slightly altered color scheme in addition to the new head.

Be on the lookout for your preferred middleman to throw up orders for Garren Broken Head Ver. soon!

Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan – S.H. Figuarts Vul Shark & Vul Panther Gallery!

Posted on August 8, 2015 at 1:17 am by Den-O under Super Sentai

Follow the sun! Catch the sun!

TokuNation returns at long last with a new S.H. Figuarts Super Sentai gallery! Though releases are few and far between in recent years those that have come out have been fantastic figures to review. Today is no different as we’re taking a look at the recent Tamashii Web Exclusive 2-pack of S.H. Figuarts Vul Shark & Vul Panther from Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan!

When we reviewed Vul Eagle way back in December I had nothing but praise to heap upon that figure, and now I get to do the same thing, twice! S.H. Figuarts Vul Shark & Vul Panther retain all of the excellent qualities that made Vul Eagle perfect. Top notch sculpt and paint work on top of an almost perfection accessory selection make it pretty hard to not like these figures. And in a rare occurence this release officially completes the Sun Vulcan team! Granted they only had 3 (technically 4) members but it’s a rarity these days. If you haven’t picked up Vul Shark & Vul Panther yet I highly suggest it, this 2-pack will bring just a little bit more of that old school Showa class to your collection.

We’ve attached a selection of images to this post but feel free to peruse 70 images of S.H. Figuarts Vul Shark & Vul Panther as well as an in depth review. Simply click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. The quick version though? Buy theses figures. And here’s to hoping that one day the Sun Vulcan villains of Black Magma may get the same excellent treatment that these heroes of the sun did. Eagle, Shark, Panther!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Drive Super Dead Heat Reveal & Official Images

Posted on August 4, 2015 at 10:59 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

It looks like at least one of this years movie exclusive Rider suits is about to get the figure treatment! Just revealed, with official images in tow thanks to the Premium Bandai website, is S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Drive Super Dead Heat!

Super Deat Heat is Shinosuke’s temporary power up exclusive to the Kamen Rider Drive Surprise Future movie. A Frankenstein of sorts this form is accessed with a Mach Driver, while using the Tridoron Key, & produces a red Mashin Chaser body with a Drive Type Speed head that features additional asymmetrical detailing. A gorgeous figure for sure it appears to be lacking somewhat in the accessories. The order page currently only lists 3 sets of hands for each arm.

S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Drive Super Dead Heat will be released as a Tamashii Web Exclusive for 5940 yen in March!

Kamen Rider ZO – S.H. Figuarts Doras Gallery

Posted on August 4, 2015 at 1:13 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

It’s time for TokuNation to take a trip back to the 90’s again for this one. We’re revisiting the world of the Kamen Rider 20th Anniversary project Kamen Rider ZO with a new figure gallery! Today’s subject is a companion piece to our ZO gallery from January, the Neo Organism given physical form, S.H. Figuarts Doras!

Doras is cyborg like creature created by the Neo Organism in the film to hunt for the son of it’s creator. Of course like an respectable villain, along the way Doras gets entangled with Kamen Rider ZO. Doras the toy is one of the more magnificent Figuarts on the market. In much the same way we heaped praise on the sculpt of Kamen Rider Shin, Doras is a marvel of detailing and sculpt. An absolutely glorious figure to look at, S.H. Figuarts Doras captures the pure evil of his namesake and reminds us of a time when villain designs weren’t just good, they were amazing. Whether you remember the character fondly from the Kamen Rider ZO film or his later appearance in Decade/W Movie Wars 2010 this figure will not disappoint you.

A selection of images are attached to this post but the full gallery containing over 50 images can be found by clicking “discuss on the TokuNation forums at the bottom of this post. S.H. Figuarts Doras is an incredible companion piece to Kamen Rider ZO and for now at least they look like the only 2 figures we’ll be getting from that film. But you can be certain that when or if more figuarts from ZO are produced, we’ll cover them!

S.H. Figuarts Gill Hakaider Gallery

Posted on July 27, 2015 at 12:47 am by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News

The long wait is over! With SDCC News and updates out of the way it’s time for TokuNation to return to it’s regularly scheduled programming of new toy galleries! First up on the chopping block our long overdue look at the villain of the classic tokusatsu series Kikaider 01. The evil mastermind behind SHADOW, it’s S.H. Figuarts Gill Hakaider! Gill Hakaider is of course the second character to bear the Hakaider name. A new version of the cyborg created using the evil Professor Gill’s own brain, this creature would be the arch nemesis of Kikaider’s older brother Kikaider 01!

In figure form Gill Hakaider is very similar to the previously released Hakaider with a few key differences. Primarily newly painted face details as well as the Hakaider emblem emblazoned on his chest. Though the biggest differences would the inclusion of Gill’s mechanical mind controlling flute staff as well as his cape! Though the cape is more generally associated with his anime counterpart, it’s an incredibly cool bonus to get here.

While we’ve attached a selection of images to this post, check out over 50 images of S.H. Figuarts Gill Hakaider included several with his namesake Hakaider as well as the Kikaider brothers after the jump. We’ll revisit the Kikaider world again in the coming months with a gallery of Kikaider 01’s Double Machine!

SDCC 2015: Interview with Tamashii Nations

Posted on July 9, 2015 at 3:27 am by Sentai Tamashii under Conventions, Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con, Super Sentai, Ultraman

Our very own Kickback is back! This time he interviewed Adam Newman from Tamashii Nations, who was at the Bluefin booth.  From the interview, Adam talked about the state of the market when it comes to Figuarts, from Sentai/Power Ranger to Kamen Riders, and Anime in general.

Tamashii Nations USA is taking a break from anything Power Rangers related for SDCC, in fact, while MMPR related product sold very well (Figuarts White Ranger was their best ever), Figuarts that aren’t MMPR didn’t do so well.  For example, the Figuarts Zero MMPR Red Ranger is being shelved because Tamashii Nations is less than satisfied with how the Figuarts Zero MMPR Green Ranger performed.

The overall state of Figuarts is doing very well however, in fact, the Figuarts market; when it comes to Kamen Rider and Anime properties, are growing so fast that Tamashii Nations had to restrategize so they can keep up with the demands.  Kamen Rider is doing so well that any past or new Kamen Rider characters has a chance to be made.  As for Sentai, if Ninninger can gain enough popularity, it’s entirely possible for Tamashii Nations to consider making the Figuarts as well.

When it comes to Power Ranger news, Tamashii Nations said that repackaging Kyoryuger Figuarts into Dino Charge is entirely possible, something for them to consider.  Tamashii also has interests to partner up with Saban Brands and Bandai of America to do something MMPR Movie related, but it would have to depend on how the movie progresses.

Now for a bit of good news: While Kamen Rider Gaim Figuarts aren’t currently being displayed at SDCC 2015, it is still being distributed by BlueFin, so look forward to that at your favorite retail outlet.  Also a nice tidbit for Dragon Ball fans out there, apparently the new reissue of Dragon Ball Figuarts will come with updated parts, such as hands and possibly faces, be sure to collect them all

Stay tuned as TokuNation brings you more update, pictures, and interviews from SDCC 2015,
