Happy New Year, TokuNation!


Rounding out our coverage for the currently known line-up of figures for wave 4 of the popular Lightning Collection line, we have our first in-package photograph of the fourthcoming Lightning Collection SPD Red Ranger action figure from the fan-favorite season: Power Rangers SPD.

Thankfully, we can see some alterations were made to the figure to make it look more accurate to what was presented in the show most notably to the hands, and the Morpher.

We can expect this new wave of figures to hit sometime in 2020. We’ll notify you once a pre-order is made available so be sure to check back with us for any new updates. In the meantime, be sure to drop us a line in the disscussion thread and let us know your thoughts on this exciting new figure.

“Let’s try my gorilla strength!”

Ravi Shaw was meant to be a Power Ranger. Selected & trained by Grid Battleforce, Ravi earned his place & his power with his teammates. But before they could become Rangers, Blaze & Roxy became something else. Loyal Avatars of Evox! Ravi’s former comrades would have done the same to him too if not for the intervention of Devon Daniels & Zoey Reeves. Joining his new allies, Ravi’s body is infused with Morph-X energy as well as gorilla DNA, turning him into the mighty Beast Morphers Blue Ranger!

Joining the likes of the Beast Morphers Red & Gold Rangers, the Blue Ranger is the third member of his team to make it to the Lightning Collection. With the evil ranger Blaze coming up in Wave 4 of the line, this group of characters continues to expand as well. As is, the Blue Ranger is another welcome member of the team! Packing a (literal!) punch, the Blue Ranger includes two effect parts as well as the Beast-X Saber and even a civilian head featuring the likeness of Ravi’s actor, Jazz Baduwalia!

We now have a second image from the next wave of the highly popular Power Rangers Lightning Collection!

The Cybervillain Blaze from the most recent season, Power Rangers Beast Morphers joins the Lightning Collection lineup. Blaze comes with a full assortment of weapons, alternate hands and an unmorphed head.

Cybervillain Blaze will be part of the fourth wave of the Lightning Collection, currently scheduled for release in Spring 2020.

It’s Morphin Time!

Earlier in the year, our friends at Hasbro gave us our first look at the next wave of Lightning Collection figures slated to come out next year. Among those figures was a Lightning Collection Zeo Ranger III Blue Ranger.

A new image has surfaced, giving us our first in-package shot of this figure. You can still pre-order the figure on Entertainment Earth as of this writing, the figure won’t be released till March 2020 according to their website solicitation.

“I am Sir Ivan, Knight of Zandar!”

The Red Ranger spent a decade searching for his father. Suspecting that Fury is the key to the disappearance of James Navarro, Tyler won’t give up until his father’s fate is known. Now, thanks to the Gold Energem the secret hidden deep within Fury, is out! Fury has held his host prisoner for hundreds of years, but now nothing can contain this 800 year old warrior! The truth of James Navarro is still a mystery, but a piece of history has been found. Ivan, the Knight of Zandar awakens from his ancient slumber as the Dino Charge Gold Ranger! And he owes Fury, about 8 centuries of payback.

The Dino Charge Gold Ranger is the third Gold Ranger that the Lightning Collection has given us so far, as well as the second Dino Charge ranger. Released in the recent Wave 3 alongside the likes of Lord Drakkon, Dino Charge Gold builds off the previous DC Red Ranger mold. While a few details are missing in the final figure, and the color will be hotly debated, this is another great addition to any Power Rangers collection. Armed with the Gold Ptera Morpher and Ptera Saber, the Gold Ranger even includes a civilian head featuring the like of Ivan’s actor, Davi Santos!

The Lightning Collection line has been going strong for the better part of a year now. Pumping out regular releases in the form of full waves, two-packs, and store exclusive single figures has made it hard to keep up on occasion. But finally we’ve made our way back around to finish off Wave 1 with the Dino Charge Red Ranger!  An overlooked gem of the first wave, DC Red is a solidly constructed figure with a lot more fine detail than you notice at first glance. Armed with the Dino Charge Morpher, the Dino Saber, an effect part, extra hands, and an unmasked head, this figure is the total package.

UPDATE 8:45 PM EST – Toys are not being reissued as a part of the show coming back to South Korea.

In a pretty odd turn of events, South Korea is set to see it’s third out with Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger in 2020! This news comes straight from Yong San Power Rangers event, which you can see a video of HERE from youtube channel [림호]Tokusatsu. Gaoranger, like many sentai, has a bit of an odd history in South Korea. Super Sentai had been imported to the country since 1989 with Flashman. However in 1994, the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was imported and dubbed in Korean as “Invincible Power Rangers”.

The trend of Power Rangers being imported and dubbed continued until 2003 when Power Rangers Wild Force was brought in as “Power Force Rangers”. After this point Super Sentai was directly imported and dubbed again. Jump to 2010 and Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger was at last imported in it’s original form and dubbed over as “Power Rangers Jungle Force”, in lieu of airing Shinkenger, which at the time was seen as too Japanese for the Korean market. Now, it looks as though South Korea will once again be seeing Gaoranger next year in it’s Jungle Force dub, set to stream on the Korean Power Rangers youtube channel!

“Pterodactyl!

Like any teenager, Kimberly Hart used to be concerned with trivial things. But when an inter-dimensional being summoned her and her friends to defend the Earth from a recently freed ancient sorceress, that went out the window. Pterodactyl power coin in hand, Kimblery morphs into the Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger! Kim fought the forces of evil for years until she found a worthy successor to her power. But her legacy still lives on in the generations of rangers who have come since. This morphinominal heroine at last joins (most of) her teammates in the Power Rangers Lightning Collection!

The Pink Ranger is the first new Mighty Morphin ranger mold we’ve gotten in the line so far. Previously we’ve seen 3 outings of the male MMPR body type with Dragon Shield parts and recently even the more basic Red Ranger release. So Pink Ranger really is refreshing to see for a change of pace. With some new design choices and articulation cuts, it’s a bit different affair to the boys, in a good way. Armed with the Blade Blaster, Power Bow, and two different arrows, the Pink Ranger is ready to take out the Putties in your collection!

Once again it’s the time of year that the community and our staff love most – time for all of us to celebrate our respective holidays & traditions with the friends and loved ones we hold dear. But it’s also time for TokuNation.com to celebrate itself. Our little community is hitting another milestone this year, our 8 year anniversary!! January 4th 2020, will officially mark 8 years since TokuNation first went public as part of the network of TFW2005.COM, ToyArk.com, HissTank.com and of course our newest sister site PWRRNGR.com, through both network owner Tony_Bacala and our founder and original Editor-In-Chief, TokuChris.

As times have changed we’ve done our best to change with them, delivering you content in different ways, covering new and exciting topics, and trying to improve our social outreach. But he one true constant that’s been with us since our first year, that you can expect every year? The annual Toku Toy Box giveaway!
